Not one to embarrass easily, America Ferrera didn’t seem to mind wearing a hot dog suit – at least as far as the filming of the television show “Ugly Betty” is concerned.

The actress was in Midtown in NYC today (August 25) wearing a frankfurter suit while Michael Urie was also located at the scene.

Meanwhile, the show is getting ready for a new cast member. Television star Kristen Johnston will be part of ABC’s Ugly Betty this season. She will be playing Helen, a temp at Mode magazine.

Johnston has been in The Women, Aunt Dan & Lemon and the Understudy and will be starring in the Mint Theatre’s production of So Help Me God! in November. She won an Emmy in the sitcom Third Rock from the Sun.

Ugly Betty will return on October 9 and will star America Ferrera, Vanessa Williams, Michael Urie, Beckie Newton, Ana Ortiz, Tony Plana, Mark Indelicato, and Judith Light.

One of the perks of her gig is that she gets paid to look goofy, and yesterday (April 23)  America Ferrera was spotted on the set of her hit show “Ugly Betty.”

The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” babe looked to be having a marvelous time as she meandered around the New York City location while filming scenes for an upcoming episode.

As could be expected, Miss Ferrera sported a kooky combination of clothing including a pink jacket overtop a green swirly print dress with cream socks and purple shoes.

This past weekend, America turned 25 and celebrated with the cast and crew of “Betty” at a super-hip NYC club Kiss & Fly.
