Jennifer Lopez and the Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler will be joining original judge Randy Jackson on the judging panel for the 10th season of American Idol, which will air early next year.
Auditions will be held in Los Angeles later today before heading to New Jersey next week.

Jennifer and Steven join the panel following the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. 

It had been reported Jennifer had agreed a $12 million deal to be a judge on the show, after bosses allegedly turned down her demands for a $15 million deal. A source revealed: "I think it was just positioning. In the end, she didn’t turn up her nose up at $12 million."

Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez believes that it’s a great time to be an actress.

The actress is back on the big screen with her latest movie ‘The Back Up Plan’ and is excited by the great roles that are currently coming the way of Hollywood actresses, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

‘It seems like you can work and do anything at any age. It’s a great time that people are just seeing people’s souls. It just matters that you’re great at what you do. And that’s exciting,’ said Lopez.

‘It’s not so superficial any more. Women have proven that they are viable in this business, as well, and it doesn’t matter if you’re not 21 years old,’ she added.

Taking the stage for an energetic performance, Jennifer Lopez dazzled at the 60th Sanremo Italian Music Festival on Friday evening .

Showing off her dance moves at the Ariston Theatre venue, the “Get Right” singer was a hit as the packed house offered up quite the warm welcome.

After finishing up with her trip overseas, J Lo is set to return to the States to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time in nearly nine years.

Scheduled to appear on the long-running late night show on February 27th, Miss Lopez will also be the musical guest as she helps promote a new movie “The Back-up Plan” and her new album coming out in April.

Taking care of some mid-week errands, Jennifer Lopez was spotted in Beverly Hill.

The “Ain’t It Funny” singer looked casual in a black sweatsuit as she strolled on past the paparazzi after paying a visit to the doctor.

In other news, J Lo and hubby, Marc Anthony, are being sue by a flight attendant who says their “personal protection dog” attacked her on board a private Gulfstream IV jet in 2006.

In documents filed with the Brooklyn Federal Court in New York, flight attendant Lisa Wilson says German Shepherd Dog Floyd “growled and lunged at her,” and “head-butted her leg, and she fell and seriously injured her back.”

Getting an early victory, a temporary order stopping Jennifer Lopez’s first husband from distributing intimate home videos of the couple was issued by a Los Angeles judge on Monday.

Hitting back at her ex, Ojani Noa, Miss Lopez has also launched a $10 million lawsuit over his plans to use their private homemade sex tape in a movie about their life together.

Titled “How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The JLo and Ojani Noa Story, ” Jennifer is reportedly desperate to stop Ojani from making public “11+ hours of previously unseen home video footage of Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa”, according to court papers.

According to her lawsuit, filmmaker Ed Meyer, who is also being sued, warned the singer’s lawyers that the footage shows the superstar “in revealing lack of clothing, and in sexual situations, especially in the hotel room footage from their honeymoon.”

Her lawsuit insists the footage will cause her “irreparable harm” with the damage “difficult or impossible to measure” – but “not less than $10,000,000.”

A full hearing on the matter is scheduled for Tuesday.

Cheering on their team, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony attended the Miami Dolphins/New Orleans Saints game at Land Shark Stadium in Miami, Florida on Sunday (October 25).

The Hollywood power couple happen to be minority owners of the Dolphins, joining fellow celeb investors including Serena and Venus Williams, Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Jimmy Buffet.

The day’s outing comes after a busy night the previous evening, as Marc performed a concert at American Airlines Arena as Jennifer watched.

Afterwards, it was off to a party at LIV Nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel also drawing “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian.

Making the long trip overseas, Jennifer Lopez was spotted arriving into Rome, Italy with husband Marc Anthony and their adorable twins on Wednesday (July 29).

Quickly toting Max and Emme to a chauffeured ride upon exiting their private jet, Jen and Marc headed straight to the do a little shopping in Via Condotti upon arrival.

The trip to Italy comes on the heels of Miss Lopez’s birthday weekend, as she celebrated her 40th with multiple parties including a shindig at Edison Ballroom on Saturday night.

Unhappy that some of her party guests were late, Jen reportedly got a bit upset, with an insider telling the Daily News, “Jennifer’s party was very intimate, and there were a noticeable amount of empty seats when the dinner started. Jennifer was really irritated. She was fuming because people were late, and complained about it really loudly to Marc. Jennifer was visibly upset and embarrassed.”

Continuing along with non-stop birthday festivities, Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony were spotted arriving at the Edison Ballroom to celebrate "An Evening for Lola" as part of Lopez’s 40th birthday celebration in New York City on Saturday night (July 25).

Among the star-studded guest list were Liza Minelli, Benny Medina, Ricky Martin and Jen’s "The Back-Up Plan" co-star Alex O’Loughlin.

Aside from the birthday festivities, Lopez recently shot down rumors that she’ll be replacing Paula Abdul as a judge on the next season of "American Idol".

A rep for Lopez told People magazine, “The rumor of Jennifer Lopez throwing herself in the ring to take over for Paula Abdul is completely false. Jennifer loves Idol but just as a fan. She just wrapped the feature film The Back-Up Plan, due out January 2010, and will release an album then as well.”

J. Lo’s reality show on TLC has been put on a shelf – thanks to Jon & Kate Gosselin. Last year, Jennifer Lopez inked a deal to star in a reality show chronicling the upcoming launch of her new fragrance. The actress/singer had been at odds with the network for months over her refusal to allow twins Max and Emme to be featured on the show – and now TMZ is reporting that Jennifer’s show has been put on hold.

With Monday night’s season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 grabbing an audience of 9.8 million viewers – an all-time high for TLC – the basic cable network has decided it can do just fine without a new series from Jen.at least for now.

“It was on life support for awhile, and now we’ve just lost interest,” a TLC spy told TMZ on Wednesday.

Back on the set of her latest movie, Jennifer Lopez was spotted walking to her trailer on the set of “The Back-Up Plan” in Los Angeles on Tuesday (May 26).

Showing off her curvaceous figure, the “Wedding Planner” actress strolled along in tight black workout pants with a white t-shirt and charcoal zip-up jacket.

Aside from her movie duties, Lopez has also been spending time kick-starting her new charitable endeavor, the Maribel Foundation.

Inspired after she and hubby Marc Anthony found a lump on the head of daughter Emme, Lopez tells, “We both got very nervous, and I just remember my heart sinking to my feet.”

The Maribel Foundation helps provide pediatric medical services for those who cannot afford to pay themselves.
