It was absolutely no surprise when Kaley Cuoco announced that she was divorcing Ryan Sweeting after less than two years together. They got together too quickly, they were too in-our-faces, she always tried to convince everyone that she was happy on social media, and Ryan simply never worked. Add all that together and of course you get “divorce.” What was surprising was that in late September, Us Weekly pushed a narrative that Kaley left Ryan because he was (and possibly is) addicted to pain killers. She allegedly gave him an ultimatium and he was all “Nah.” Less than a month after that Us Weekly cover story, Ryan filed paperwork with the court asking for spousal support. It definitely seemed like the “he’s an addict” stories were designed by Team Cuoco to keep Ryan’s hands off her money. But Page Six says Ryan’s alleged addiction issues were truly there and he was in bad shape:
Add a disappearing act to the list of reasons — which already includes alleged alcohol and prescription drug abuse — that convinced “Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco to file for divorce from her tennis player husband, Ryan Sweeting, on Sept. 25.
“Kaley gave him an ultimatum: ‘If you don’t stay sober, then I’m done.’ He went to rehab, but when he came out he went missing for a period of time .?.?. like four days,” a source told Page Six.
Sweeting has since shot back at Cuoco. He filed for spousal support on Oct. 15, and also cited “irreconcilable differences,” according to E! News. In addition to asking Cuoco for spousal support he seeks to terminate the court’s ability to award her spousal support, and is asking that she pay for his attorney’s fees. Reports surfaced about Sweeting taking painkillers last year, but a source tells us his addiction issues began well before that.
“He had some drinking issues in college and he was doing painkillers as early as 2013 at least,” said the source.
We hear Sweeting has recently completed another stint in rehab. He has not returned our phone calls. Cuoco’s rep has also ignored our requests for comment.

Going missing for four days after leaving rehab? No bueno. And it would make some kind of sense, timeline-wise, if Ryan had been in and out of rehab in the past six months. So… do you think this is for real? Or is Team Cuoco pushing these stories because she doesn’t want to pay him spousal support or give him any kind of settlement?
