If there is a How To Be A Kardashian rule-book published in the ninth circle of hell (Lucifer’s boutique imprint), “appealing naked on the cover of Paper Magazine” is definitely one of the rules. So what do you make of this? Blac Chyna will soon become Angela Kardashian when she marries Rob Kardashian. She’s due to give birth to a Kardashian baby in the next month. And here she is posing naked on the cover of Paper. You can read the full interview here – it’s not in-depth in any way, and it’s basically saying that Chyna is famous because she’s a social media star and she’s connected to the Kardashians. Some highlights:

Her sexual history, her stripper past: “Stripper, slut, ho, all these things people portray us as — we wanted to start a movement, because we’re tired of this double standard where a guy can f–k ten bitches and he’s the man. A woman does it and she’s a ho, she’s a slut. We wanted to push the barrier, to own it. You can say mean things about me, but it doesn’t matter, we’re still gonna do us … So what if I was a stripper?”

She doesn’t do interviews, but she’s excited about the reality show with Rob: “I don’t do interviews, and I haven’t spoken publicly in years… I’m excited about fans getting to know me as a person and not as a thing or a face. I’m funny and smart, and they’ll see me as a mom with several businesses just keeping everything together. I’m looking forward to showing my relationship with Rob, our day to day, our struggles and what we’re dealing with, positive and negative. I hope when people think about Blac Chyna, they think of a mogul and entrepreneur, a mother and a badass bitch.”

She’s not scared of reality-show stardom: “It’s what my reality is,” she says. And “you can’t really be scared of your reality.”

Sure. It is what it is. The more I think about it, the more I do admire Amber Rose and Blac Chyna for their awareness-raising Slut Walks and more. There’s a reason why Amber and Chyna are denigrated as merely strippers, video girls and side chicks. And that reason speaks to ingrained misogyny and racism. So I do see it as Chyna and Amber reclaiming their narratives. That being said… Chyna is a “mogul” in the same way that Kylie Jenner is a mogul. In that neither of them are moguls.
