This ^^ is a photo of Kim Kardashian carrying North West yesterday. This is the first time Kim has been photographed in days. The paparazzi were waiting for her outside of her NYC apartment, and they only got the family walking out of the building and into the SUVs, where Kim and the kids traveled to the airport and took a private plane back to LA. They arrived back in LA last night. Yesterday’s travel agenda also highlighted the fact that Kim and Kanye have added much more security personnel to their details – Kim’s longtime guard Pascal Duvier was there, as were some new guards. Apparently, Kanye stayed behind in New York because he’s resuming his Pablo tour tonight.

Let’s see, what else? According to TMZ, Kim has already filed the insurance claims on her stolen jewelry. I imagine there will be some criticism of Kim for filing insurance claims – because she’s criticized for everything – but I also suspect that the insurance company was notified in the hours after the robbery, don’t you? It would have to be part of the police report, and the police would need to know which pieces were stolen and how much they were worth.

Kim Kardashian is no faker … we found out the stolen ring at the center of the Paris robbery really was as advertised … insanely expensive. Kim showed the ring off frequently, and seemed happy that media outlets were setting the value in the millions. After it was stolen, Paris authorities said it was worth $4.5 million. Sources familiar with the case tell us … Kim has already submitted an insurance claim, setting the value of the ring at an even $4 million.

The insurance docs describe the ring in detail … a 20 carat emerald cut stone. According to the docs, 13 items were taken, with a total value of $5.6 million … significantly less than the reported $10 million or $11 million.

So 13 items TOTAL were taken and the value was $5.6 million, including the $4 million diamond ring? That makes sense to me… in the fashion shows she attended before the assault and robbery, she was wearing simple yellow-gold jewelry without a lot of big jewels. The biggest piece she likely brought to Paris was absolutely the 20-carat ring. She may have even borrowed some pieces from Paris jewelers too. As for the ring, an interview Kim did with Andy Cohen pre-robbery was just made public, and she talked a lot about how much she loved her new ring and how Kanye had surprised her with it after his lucrative Adidas deal went through. Kanye even had “Adidas” inscribed on the ring. Reportedly, Kanye wants to replace the ring but Kim doesn’t want him to.

E! also has a story about how Kim is still feeling really traumatized. A source tells E!: “It’s crazy to her that people, even for a second, think she is fabricating this story. She feels like no one understands her and what she been through. Kim is surrounded by her friends and family now. She is really upset and is going to speak to a therapist in deeper lengths about this.” I think that’s a good idea, for Kim to speak to a professional. It might also help for Kanye to speak to someone – I know it didn’t happen to Kanye, but I get the feeling that he’s pretty messed up about the fact that he wasn’t there to protect Kim, and he’s feeling pretty helpless too. As for the idea that Kim somehow “made this up,” Jezebel ran a story where they asked four publicists if it was possible that Kim was just making this up for attention. Every publicist said no, of course she isn’t.
