Firefighters and first responders are working around the clock on the California fires and in the shelters for both humans and animals. Pretty much anyone who calls themselves a Californian or inhabitant wishes they could do so much more to help. Most businesses allow you to add a donation on to your purchase price that helps with fire recovery. Many of us have taken bags of clothes, books, games and personal items to various drop off points. Most donate online. And those who can, go the extra step, which is awesome. Lady Gaga was evacuated from her home due to the Woosley Fire in Malibu. She didn’t lose her home, thank goodness. Because Tuesday was World Kindness Day, a day that Gaga says is her favorite or the year, she appealed to everyone on Twitter to perform one act of kindness. And then she led by example. Gaga personally delivered pizza, coffee and gift cards to various evacuation shelters across LA.

50 people have been killed in the three fires. They just found another body in Agoura Hills yesterday. So many Californians are displaced and don’t know if they will have a home to go back to. Honestly, I don’t care what Gaga’s motivation was in doing this. I think she’s probably a caring person who was deeply affected by these horrific fires and wanted to give back. But even if this is all a calculated move to put her atop the Oscar list, she’s helping people who deserve it so I’m giving her props. This was amazing and I think more of Gaga for doing it.

We talked about Sandra Bullock the other day but some others that deserve a shoutout are Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. Miley and Liam lost their home. In response, they co-founded The Malibu Foundation that is designed to assist with youth homelessness, with a focus on LGTBQ. The couple also donated half a million dollars of their own to the foundation.

You know what, sometimes people just rock.

It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires.
