Miley Cyrus split up with Kaitlynn Carter over the weekend, or at least that’s when she announced it. She was petty enough to let all of the media outlets know that she dumped Kaitlynn and that the breakup happened because she (Miley) didn’t want anything serious and the subtext was that Kaitlynn was just getting too clingy and lovey-dovey. In truth, Miley had looked over this whole thing from the very beginning, like she instantly realized she was making a big mistake. She stuck with that mistake for a whole SIX weeks!

Well, now Miley is single. It’s been a while since she’s been single. Years, in fact. The last time Miley was really alone with her thoughts was… the Bangerz era, right? The era where the music was legitimately good but Miley was so annoying and famewhore-y and extra. Well, Miley wants us to know that she’s really looking forward to this new era:

Don’t mess with her freedom. Miley Cyrus “is looking forward to being single” amid her split from Kaitlynn Carter and divorce from Liam Hemsworth, a source tells PEOPLE.

“Miley split from Liam to focus on herself. Her relationship with Kaitlynn was a happy surprise,” the source says. “However, Miley was so invested in her relationship with Liam for a long time. She felt her relationship with Kaitlynn was almost moving in that direction, too.”

Don’t get me wrong, I think IF Miley really commits to being single and working on her sh-t and focusing on her career and figuring some sh-t out, then I’ll be all for it. But I doubt that will happen. I think it’s far more likely that she’ll go on some kind of famewhore spiral in an attempt to get attention in general, and to specifically get Liam’s attention.

Currently, Miley is on a hiking vacation. She’s clearly not all by herself – I wonder who’s with her?
