Legendary singer John Lennon’s childhood home has been sold at auction.

Lennon’s house at 9 Newcastle Road in Wavertree, Liverpool has been purchased by an anonymous American fan.

Expected to be sold for up to £250,000 ($401,447), it got sold at a price as high £480,000 ($770,7980).

The Beatles singer lived at the house until he was 5 years old with his mother. The property was auctioned off at the iconic Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Andrew Brown from the Countrywide Property has said: “There was a lot of interest in the property before the auction from potential buyers who lived in the UK and internationally.

“The auction was very exciting with a number of keen buyers bidding for the property, and we are delighted to have sold such an iconic piece of The Beatles and Liverpool’s history.”

In the recent past, a Beatles fan has revealed that, he wants to create a clone of John Lennon by using one of the star’s teeth.
