Here are some photos of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene hosting their annual Monaco Red Cross Ball over the weekend. The Grimaldis had a really busy weekend – not only did Princess Caroline’s son Pierre marry his Italian heiress in a civil ceremony hosted by Albert at the Pink Palace, Albert then had to host this major ball at the palace. Albert, to his credit, has been a long-standing supporter and patron to the Red Cross and the Monaco Red Cross Ball really is a consistently major event. This year’s ball got overshadowed a little bit by Pierre’s civil wedding, plus it seems like Albert and Charlene were mostly doing the hosting alone.

Charlene decided to forgo the more traditional ball gown for this year’s Red Cross Ball. Instead, she went with a rich red jumpsuit from the Valentino Resort 2015 collection. My first thought? Eh, this isn’t really the event for a fancy jumpsuit. But on second look, it sort of works. The jumpsuit is cut really well and I bet she was more comfortable in this than she would have been in a heavy gown. Still, how does one go to the bathroom in a jumpsuit? Do you have to take it off just to pee?

As I’ve said before, Charlene and Albert seem to be doing really well these days. He gave her time and space and now their marriage seems stronger than ever. Interestingly enough, Albert seems to be taking pains these days to connect with his other children, Jazmin Grace and Alexandre Coste. Jazmin Grace is all grown up now and she has a new editorial and interview in Harper’s Bazaar – go here to see. Everyone has been saying she looks like Lady Gaga, which I can see, but does anyone else see old-school Brittany Murphy?
