Congratulations are in order for Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick.
The Rolling Stones frontman, 73, and his ballerina girlfriend, 29, welcomed their first child together and Jagger’s eighth total – a boy – on Thursday (December 8), BBC reports.
The couple are “both delighted” at the birth of their newborn son, a statement reads.
“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival,” the statement continues. “Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”
Jagger is also dad to seven other children — Georgia, James, Jade, Elizabeth, Lucas, Karis and Gabriel — who range in age from 17 to 45. As well, he has five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jagger and Hamrick – who have been dating since 2014 – announced their pregnancy news in July. The legendary musician began dating Hamrick after the suicide of L’Wren Scott in 2014, his partner of 13 years.
It’s a Rolling Stones baby boom! The band’s guitarist, Ronnie Wood, welcomed twin girls — his fifth and sixth children — in May.
Congratulations to the Jagger-Hamrick family!
