Former basketball ace SHAQUILLE O’NEAL has filed for divorce from his wife SHAUNIE NELSON after five years of marriage.
The Miami heat player, 35, filed a divorce petition through his lawyer Ira Elegant in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Florida, on Tuesday (04Sep07).
O’Neal’s petition shows the couple signed a pre-nuptial agreement ahead of their December 2002 wedding in Beverly Hills, California.
O’Neal accuses his estranged wife of being “secretive about her assets… particularly with respect to certain properties owned or titled in either (her) name alone or in other entities”.
The sports star is demanding Nelson give lawyers “correct accounting of all money, funds, stocks, bonds, and other securities (including bearer securities)” she obtained during their marriage.
O’Neal has recommended his wife take “primary residential custody” of their four children Shareef, seven; Amirah, five; Shaqir, four; and Me’Arah, one.

If rumors are to be believed, this bedazzling hip-shaker will sing and appear in a video of Bollywood super star Sanjay Dutt’s next movie, The Final Call. Shakira will reportedly be doing a duet with India’s favourite Punjabi singer, Daler Mehndi, to the tunes of none other than Oscar nominee A.R. Rahman!

Says Surya Pratap, the movie’s producer, “Shakira and Daler Mehndi have given their confirmation. They will sing a groovy, English-Punjabi track and also feature in a special music video. The video will also have the protagonist and if Sanjay gives us the nod; it will be a lovely combination seeing all three of them in the video.”

Remember supermodel Christy Brinkley’s ex-husband? The sleazebag architect Peter Cook, who torpedoed his relationship with Brinkley by having an affair with his 18-year-old office assistant has more problems looming.

Apparently, his shenanigans with Diana Bianchi has been caught on tape. The sex tape does exist and shows the two engaging in sexual acts while on a loveseat, along with a few other juicy scenes.

Actress Selma Blair thinks that fellow Americans are too obsessed with celebrity lifestyle and people in her native country spend too much time idolising those in the public eye, such as actress Lindsay Lohan and her family. Speaking about the forthcoming American version of the Australian TV show Kath + Kim – in which she plays spoilt daughter Kim Craig – Blair says, “You don’t think there are some deluded Americans? Hey, how about all of us! “Everyone here is obsessed with tabloid celebrities and their lives and wanting to be like that, just like Kim. “In America you have the people who watch the Lohans’ reality show and want to be like Dina and Ali Lohan and live in a house with a throne in it. Everywhere! They’re just everywhere!”

Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez have not officially confirmed they are dating, but in recent separate interviews, the couple accidentally “spilled the beans”.

Selena Gomez recently was interviewed by Twist magazine and confided, “While we were slow dancing…my crush and I had our first kiss!. Selena continued, “After it, I leaned back and I said, ‘You cheated.’ And he said, ‘Why’ and I said, ‘I don’t kiss on the first date.’ Then he said, ‘Well, I never really play by the rules.

Then Nick Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, had an interview with “Girls Life” magazine and stated, “On one date, the girl said to me, ‘I don’t kiss on the first date.’ So I said, ‘I don’t follow the rules.’”

Hmmm… that sure raises some eyebrows doesn’t it? Their romantic interviews describing their partner sure sound similar!

Everything is falling into place for  Britney Spears’ big comeback tomorrow, with the release of her new album Circus.  And yesterday (November 30) her sons  Jayden James and  Sean Preston were spotted arriving at Newark Airport in preparation for the big event.

The two toddlers were picked up by Brit’s parents Jamie and Lynne Spears following their Transamerican flight from their home in Los Angeles, California.
Meanwhile, the “Gimme More” singer, herself, arrived into NYC’s JFK International Airport yesterday from London, England following a mini-European promotional tour last week.

Sean Penn was born in Burbank, California, on August 17, 1960. His father, Leo Penn, was a director and his mother, Eileen Ryan, an actress.
