Though she’s usually known for stirring up controversy, Madonna gave a heartwarming tribute to Michael Jackson at the opening of tonight’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Like a Virgin” kicked off the show with a monologue explaining the similarities between herself and the late King of Pop, lamenting his poor treatment at the hands of the public.

Dressed in a very fashionable black ensemble, Madge put to words the pain that so many have felt since Jackson’s passing this past June 25th.

Following Madonna’s address, Janet Jackson highlighted a dance-infused set of some of Jackson’s best-loved songs.

Michael Jackson should have been celebrating his 51st birthday today, but instead he sadly passed away on the 25th June. But according to sfgate.com, it isn’t stopping his fans from still celebrating.

And the city of Brooklyn is holding a birthday party, as a celebration of Michael Jackson’s life. The free party will be held in the Nethermead meadow at Prospect Park on Saturday afternoon and will take place even if it rains.

It has been organized by director Spike Lee, who once worked with Michael Jackson. And apparently, the public celebration had to be moved, because of the expected crowds, which jumped from the estimated 2,000 to 10,000.

Rev. Al Sharpton will apparently deliver a prayer at the party, whil President Marty Markowitz will present a proclamation declaring August 29th as Michael Jackson Day in Brooklyn. Then DJ Spinna will play all Michael Jackson hits.

Michael Jackson’s Cause Of Death Has been Revealed

Moving closer to bringing closure to his unexpected passing, Michael Jackson‘scause of death has been revealed – as the King of Pop had lethal levels of Propofol in his system when he passed away on June 25th.

Breaking reports tell that Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, has admitted that he had been treating Jackson for insomnia for about six weeks, during which time he was giving him 50 milligram doses of the drug via IV.

The coroner’s ruling now makes it likely that criminal charges will be brought against Dr. Murray – as his treatment led to Jackson’s ultimate demise.

Meanwhile, the Jackson family plans to put Michael to rest at Holly Terrace in the Grand Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park on September 3rd.

As previously reported, Michael Jackson’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray is being considered as the one who administered the lethal dose of propofol to the late singer. And today his Las Vegas home is being searched by the police.

According to an inside source, "They’re searching Dr. Murray’s residence and office. They’re executing a search warrant. They’re continuing to look for records and other aspects of the investigation. They’re just looking for any information they need to help [in the investigation]."

Last week, authorities executed a search warrant on Murray’s Houston medical clinic, as well as a storage facility listed under his name.

Furthermore, police have already interviewed the doctor twice, with a third round of interrogation set for sometime in the near future.

Joe Jackson1

In an interview with ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly, sharp-tongued Jackson Family patriarch Joe Jackson fires back at claims that he was an abusive tyrant that physically and emotionally battered his nine children – most notably, his late son Michael, who would rise from childhood stardom as part of The Jackson 5 to become the biggest pop star in the history of the recording industry.

“Michael was never beat as they call it,” Jackson says during Primetime: Family Secrets – The Jackson Family: Life After Michael, airing tonight @ 10PM on ABC.

“And everyone spanked their kids when they did wrong. But not beat. Katherine spanked Michael more than I did, ’cause I was workin’ two jobs and she was at home with him the most,” the 79-year-old former stage dad explains.

While Joe admits he may have been a tough manager – and father – he insists that has always love his son.

“I do what’s right. And I love my family. My son. And that’s about it. I try to perfect everything I do.”

“I was very demanding, but I got things done,” he added.

Joe also slams Michael’s most painful claim against his father – the belief that infamy in youth robbed him of the chance to have a normal life.

“There was a lot of times I’ve been hearin’ on the news that Michael say he didn’t have a – a childhood. He had his brothers. He had all his sisters to perform with. You know, to play and have a good time with.”

And when asked if he has any regrets about the way he raised the late King of Pop, Joe says: “No. I don’t have any regrets. Yeah, we brought him up the right way.”

A&E Jackson Family Reality Show

An A&E reality show featuring members of the Jackson family has been put on hold.

The series, tentatively titled The Jackson Family, followed former Jackson 5 members Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy as they prepped for a new album and tour, but the death of family superstar Michael Jackson has left the network deciding what to do with the footage.

“We have started discussing internally and with the family but have not yet decided what direction to take with the show,” A&E executives said in a statement Monday. “We are respecting the family’s wishes right now, and at the appropriate time we will all decide what direction this program to take, so stay tuned.”

In An Interview With La Toya Jackson

Jul 13, 2009 Author: Admin | Filed under: Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson11

In an interview with Britain’s Mail on Sunday, La Toya says: “Michael didn’t want to know who the biological parents were. They took eggs from a donor and I believe the sperm came from one of five donors picked from a book. Michael didn’t know who the mother and father were. I don’t know who carried the child and if the surrogate knew whose child she was carrying.”

The paternity of Michael Jackson’s three children; Prince Michael I, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and Blanket, 7; has been the subject of tabloid fodder in the weeks since the legendary singer’s death.

“Paris wants to be an entertainer. Prince Michael, the oldest, is assertive. I see such sadness there. He cried at the hospital but hasn’t cried since. He has become the little man of the family. Blanket is the baby. He is very funny, a real prankster like his father,” La Toya says.

“Those children were his greatest joy. He was a superstar but the only people who loved him unconditionally were the children.”

La Toya says she was shocked by the emergence of a 2002 will that named longtime Jackson family pal singer Diana Ross as a backup to family matriarch mother Katherine as the children’s guardian.

“Michael always told us that he wanted his eldest sister Rebbie Jackson to look after the children. Rebbie had a nice family, which Michael loved. He told many family members that she was his choice. We believe there is another will which will emerge. He updated his wills almost every five years, so we expect one to come out from 2007.”

La Toya also sounded off on reports that Michael’s former wife, Debbie Rowe, who gave birth to the two eldest children, will fight Katherine for full custody of Prince I and Paris. “These are not Debbie’s kids. They don’t even know she’s their mother. Like everyone else in his life, she was motivated by money. She has always said she’s not their mother.”

She stated, “Debbie has only seen the children a handful of times. Michael never introduced her as their mother.”

And Debbie Rowe isn’t the only person in Michael’s life on the receiving end of his sister’s displeasure. Dr. Conrad Murray, who was with the King of Pop at the time of his death, also has some explaining to do.

Michael Jackson died not in his own bedroom as first reported, but on the bed in the room of his doctor, Dr Conrad Murray, across the hall.

“I don’t know exactly what happened, whether he was giving him oxygen, but Michael ended up in the bed. The doctor was trying to give him CPR (resuscitation for cardiac arrest) on the bed.”

La Toya tried questioning Murray when she arrived at the UCLA Hospital where the King of Pop had been taken. She got nowhere.

She said: “Paris was in tears and said to me, “There’s Dr Murray. He’s the best cardiologist in the world, how can this happen to Daddy?”

“I said to him, “Tell me what happened?” But he was vague and simply said, “He just didn’t make it.” I wasn’t pleased with that answer, but you have to be careful as the kids were there. I felt weird and not right.”

“This was the only man who knew what went on, but he wasn’t telling me. And then he disappeared,” she added.

“Michael was murdered. And we don”t think just one person was involved. Rather, it was a conspiracy of people. I feel it was all about money. Michael was worth well over a billion in music publishing assets and somebody killed him for that. He was worth more dead than alive.”

Joe Jackson

Joe Jackson suspects foul play in the recent death of Michael Jackson, the most famous of his six sons.

Joe, 80, says he was shocked when he learned the pop icon had been rushed to the hospital on June 25.

“I just couldn’t believe what was happening to Michael,” he said.

“I do believe it was foul play,” the father of the late singer says in a special edition of Primetime: Family Secrets – The Jackson Family: Life After Michael, set to air this Tuesday, July 14.

“I do believe that. Yes.”

Dr. Klein: Not M.J.’s Baby Daddy

The lingering questions of just who’s the daddy of Michael Jackson’s three children didn’t exactly get answered this morning when Dr. Arnold Klein, one of the buzzed-about potential papas, appeared on Good Morning America.

"I can’t say anything about it, but, to the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children," he told Diane Sawyer. "I can’t answer it in any other way. I don’t want to feed any of this insanity that is going around."

What he would say about the three children, two of whom are his former assistant Debbie Rowe’s, simply reiterated a message that was driven home yesterday during daughter Paris’ impromptu speech.

"I will tell you one thing: These are brilliant children and I want them in no way to be harmed," he said. "These are great, wonderful, fabulous children who he loved deeply."
