She’s one of the music world’s most known artists, but even Shakira was a bit shocked at being asked to speak at the famous debating society at Oxford University.
Adding another trophy to her already impressive collection, Shakira was among the winners at the 2009 Bambi Awards in Potsdam, Germany on Thursday.
Held at the Metropolis hall at Filmpark Babelsberg, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was crowned as the top International Pop Artist at the glitzy awards ceremony.
Not only on-hand to collect her trophy, Shakira also dazzled the crowd with an energetic performance during the course of the evening’s festivities.
With stars such as Kate Winslet also in attendance, the Bambi Awards are put on by Hubert Burda Media to recognize excellence in international media and television.
Taking the long trip over to Germany, Shakira was spotted arriving at the Berlin airport earlier today.
The “She Wolf” songstress -who is in town for the “Bambi Awards 2009- looked to be in high spirits as she willingly stopped and signed autographs for some fans.
Joining in on the night’s festivities, Shakira gave a stirring performance at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards held at the O2 Arena in Berlin, Germany on Thursday (November 5).
The Colombian cutie performed her latest single, “Did it Again,” as she promotes her upcoming “She Wolf” album release on November 23rd.
Along with performing, Beyonce garnered two nominations for Best Female and Best Video for the song, “She Wolf”.
Also performing during the course of the MTV EMAs were Katy Perry, The Foo Fighters, Beyonce, Green Day, Jay Z, and Leona Lewis.

If rumors are to be believed, this bedazzling hip-shaker will sing and appear in a video of Bollywood super star Sanjay Dutt’s next movie, The Final Call. Shakira will reportedly be doing a duet with India’s favourite Punjabi singer, Daler Mehndi, to the tunes of none other than Oscar nominee A.R. Rahman! 
Says Surya Pratap, the movie’s producer, “Shakira and Daler Mehndi have given their confirmation. They will sing a groovy, English-Punjabi track and also feature in a special music video. The video will also have the protagonist and if Sanjay gives us the nod; it will be a lovely combination seeing all three of them in the video.”
