7th Heaven star Beverley Mitchell – who welcomed her second child in January – says she wears her POSH Mommy personalized necklace “close to my heart.”

The actress recently celebrated her daughter Kenzie‘s second birthday at Underwood Family Farms in Moonpark, Calif. The actress – who is also mom to 3-month-old son Hutton with husband Michael Cameron– dishes to Celebrity Baby Scoop about the party details.

Beverley had a blast at the outdoor birthday bash with her family-of-four. Continue reading about Kenzie’s true feelings about the farm animals, the loot bags including some swag from Mabel’s Labels, and some of Bev’s best party tips.

“We had Kenzie’s birthday party at Underwood Family Farms, in Moorpark, California which is not far from where I grew up,” Beverley shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

According to mom, the birthday girl had two wardrobe changes during the afternoon event.

“I found Kenzie special 2 year outfit here,” Beverley says. “And, in the spirit of the theme, this is her cowgirl outfit from Dress by Shop AddyCora.”

For the décor, Beverley used a chalkboard poster from Pickle Noodle Boutique.

“I also reused a lot of the decorations from Kenzie’s birthday last year,” she shares, and adds, “The extra plates I had and the straws and the adorable fabric bunting.” She adds: “The flowers we did ourselves in mason jars; I went to the flower mart with my best friend Jainey and picked an assortment of wild flowers and we did all the flowers ourselves.”

Guests noshed on “assorted berries, bagels and cream cheese, donuts (Kenzie’s first time having donut holes and, yes, she loved them), apple sauce pouches and croissants,” the mom-of-two says.

As for the dessert, guests enjoyed “cupcakes from Susie Cakes and a carrot cake from Susie Cakes, as well,” the actress shares. “The adults enjoyed the carrot cake and the kids devoured the cupcakes,” she adds.

As for the favors, guests received trumpette socks and Little Highbury Head Bands, Mabel’s Labels personalized labels, and Babiators.

While they planned a party with farm animals, it turns out the birthday girl wasn’t too keen on her furry new friends.

“We began the party with a horse drawn ride through the farm, which was pretty fun,” Beverley shares. “Kenzie was not too big a fan of the animals; in fact she preferred to keep a good distance. We attempted a pony ride, but that was an epic fail. Kenzie did, however, love riding the mini tractors with her dad and playing on the wood train with all her friends.”

She adds: “She liked feeding the animals as long as she had the fence in between her and them.”

But if there’s one thing the actress recommends, it’s hiring a professional photographer to capture the precious moments.

“I have to say one of the best things I did for her birthday was hire the amazing Ashley Burns to take pictures,” Beverley says. “It would have been so hard for me to enjoy this special day if I had to focus on capturing the day, too. It was so nice to be able to be in the moment and know that we would have all the memories captured beautifully. It took off a tremendous amount of pressure, because that is my thing, I have to have pictures, lots of pictures.”

She adds: “It was also great to have all these amazing images to share with the wonderful families that joined us on Kenzie’s special day. These are images that we will cherish forever and well worth the money. For me, it’s the only splurge I always make for special occasions.”
