Earlier this week, Kensington Palace announced that Meghan Markle has partnered with women who survived the Grenfell fire to release a cookbook in support of the Hub Community Kitchen. She helped come up with the idea and wrote the forward for Together: Our Community Cookbook. It is, as she said, he…

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson exit dinner after kicking off the weekend

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson spent most of the summer in LA. Khloe was stuck in Cleveland during the last month of her pregnancy, and doctors told her she couldn’t travel to give birth in LA because she was so near her due date. So she gave birth to True in Cleveland, even though she and everyone else found out that Tristan had been cheating on throughout her pregnancy. What surprised me was that even when Khloe got the go-ahead to travel, she still stayed in Cleveland until she and Tristan could both return to LA (which is where he off-seasons anyway). Now that Tristan is due back in Cleveland for another season with the Cavaliers, what will happen? Well, sources tell Us Weekly that Khloe plans on going back with Tristan.

What scandal? Khloé Kardashian will leave Los Angeles and move back to Cleveland with Tristan Thompson during NBA season, Us Weekly can confirm. The reality star, 34, gave birth to the pair’s daughter, True, now 6 months, in the Buckeye state earlier this year. Kardashian and Thompson, 27, welcomed their baby girl just days after the basketball pro was caught cheating on his then-pregnant girlfriend with multiple women.

Despite the drama, Thompson, who re-signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a five-year contract in 2015, will return to Ohio with his girlfriend and daughter by his side for the 2018 NBA season, which starts preseason games in October.

An insider told Us Weekly exclusively earlier this month that Kardashian and Thompson are “doing better than anyone could have expected” after the fallout of the cheating scandal.

“Tristan has promised Khloé he will never betray her again,” the insider revealed. “She believes him.”

[From Us Weekly]

Khloe Kardashian: fool, clingy doormat, delusional mess or all of the above? Tristan wants out. He’s wanted out for a year. He doesn’t want to be a father. He doesn’t want to be with Khloe. But she’s going to cling to him like her life depends on it, because I seriously believe that she can’t imagine her life without him. Oh, well. When he cheats on her again – which he will, and probably already is – she won’t be able to play any of it for sympathy. Everyone, even her own family, will just roll their eyes.

If you can’t see how the Duchess of Sussex is effortlessly making a vital modernization to the royal family, I can’t help you. If you can’t see how Prince Harry and Doria Ragland are incredibly and justifiably proud of their girl, I can’t help you there either. As I covered earlier, Duchess Meg did the big launch event for the Hubb Community Kitchen cookbook, Together, at Kensington Palace today. The event was a wild success, and now that some photos have come through, I wanted to talk more about it.

I’ve seen the comments, here and on Twitter, that Doria should not have come to this event. Doria was not there to glorify herself. She was not there to hobnob with elites and posh aristocrats. She was not there to coach her daughter through royal work. Doria was there as a justifiably proud mother who genuinely wanted to meet the women who created the cookbook.

I think we can see where the Duchess of Sussex gets it from pic.twitter.com/sD6zHYCcLL

Yes. That’s how Meghan turned out this way. Because of Doria. And personally, I think people are upset at the simple fact that Harry and Doria seem very close as well. Harry adores his mother-in-law. He doesn’t need Doria to run his life though. So tell me again, what’s the beef with all of this?

Jane Fonda is covering People Magazine this week because there’s a new documentary about her life coming to HBO. It’s called Jane Fonda in Five Acts. Four of the five acts are about the men in Fonda’s life, which was a structural choice made by the filmmaker, Susan Lacy (American Masters, Spielberg.) Fonda told People’s Jess Cagle that she’s ok with that.

I didn’t know what she was going to do [with the interviews and footage]. It took me completely by surprise that she did it in five acts and I completely understand why. As I talk about in my book, up until my 60s I was to a large extent defined by the men in my life. I was brought up to please. I wanted my father to love me and so I would turn myself into a pretzel to be what he wanted me to be. It just took me a long time to get over it. We don’t get to chose our parents. There are issues and there are wounds and there are handicaps. You spend the rest of your life trying to get over them. It took me into my 60s and then I began to come who I was supposed to be all along.

[From video on People]

She put that so well. I like to think that I don’t do this anymore now that I’m in my 40s but I know exactly what she means. I love covering her interviews because she’s just so full of wisdom and she’s fearless now.

Fonda is one of those people who can explain and apologize for things multiple times and still get called out for them. (i.e. a woman.) I’m referring to her activism during Vietnam and the fact that she had plastic surgery, admitted to it in many interviews, and still got put on the spot by that hack Megyn Kelly in a joint interview with Robert Redford. (Then Kelly got mad that she got called out for her sh-tty interview skills and attacked Fonda for her decades old activism.) Anyway in her documentary she talks about her plastic surgery and she says the same thing that we’ve heard from her for years, that she’s not proud of it but that she wanted a change.

“I’m glad I look good for my age, but I’ve had plastic surgery,” she says in a new HBO documentary about her life, titled Jane Fonda in Five Acts. “I’m not going to lie about that.”

Fonda has been open in the past about why she got work done on her eyes and jawline. “I got tired of looking tired when I wasn’t,” she’s said. Still, in the documentary, she admits she feels bad about wanting to do it.

“On one level, I hate the fact that I’ve had the need to alter myself physically to feel that I’m OK,” she says. “I wish I wasn’t like that. I love older faces. I love lived-in faces. I loved Vanessa Redgrave’s face.”

She adds, “I wish I was braver. But I am what I am.”

As far as how she also keeps her incredible figure, Fonda, a fan of pilates, says she still works out. “Just more slowly now,” she’s said.

[From People]

People has more, including the sad story of Fonda losing her mother to suicide. Jane was just 12 years old when her dad told her her mom passed from a heart attack. She learned it was suicide by reading a magazine. Jane told Jess Cagle “As a child, you always think it was your fault… It takes a long time to get over the guilt.” She said she’s since read her mother’s medical records and understands, forgives and has “tremendous empathy” for her. I really want to see Jane’s documentary. Even if we’ve heard some of these stories from her before, I want to hear them again. Ooh and I can get Book Club on Redbox. I know what I’m doing this weekend.

75th Venice International Film Festival - 'The Favourite' - Premiere

I should have paid more attention to “Gorgeous” Joe Alwyn when he was in Venice, promoting his role in The Favourite. He’s not really the star of that film – it’s more of an ensemble – but his part is big enough for him to turn up at the Venice Film Festival to shill for the movie. I guess it’s notable that he went through that entire film festival without commenting on Taylor Swift whatsoever. In fact, Joe has never commented publicly on Taylor at all. They’ve been dating for about two years, if we’re calculating backwards and using the references from Taylor’s blind item songs. They met in the fall of 2016 and quietly dated for months before anyone knew about their relationship. Once people found out, Taylor stage-managed every piece of information we got about them and how “private” they are.

So, until now, Joe Alwyn was silent about his lover Tay-Tay. But he’s profiled in the new issue of British Vogue, and he had something to say.

Since they began dating nearly two years ago, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have kept their relationship under wraps — and that’s not changing any time soon.

“I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” the British actor, 27, tells British Vogue in a new interview. “I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people … but I really prefer to talk about work.”

[From People]

That’s it? THAT IS IT. British Vogue hasn’t actually released the interview online yet (I looked for it but didn’t find it), so I have to think that the rest of the interview was about his movie or his craft or his family or a bunch of other stuff. Hopefully he didn’t sit down with British Vogue and just say this. “I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people…” Okay. Do you think this super-private couple will get engaged and let people know about it? That’s what I’m wondering. But if they break up, we’ll definitely hear about it. Because Taylor wouldn’t be able to help herself.

Kylie Jenner covers the latest issue of Glamour UK. I have to admit, her lips do look slightly smaller, but I’m still not buying the idea that Kylie has completely stopped with lip fillers. I think she’s just doing less fillers in general, and… baby steps. Her lips are no longer cartoonish, so that’s something. In the interview, Kylie talks about the insecurities she had with her lips and how she began “overlined” them, which… I guess we’re still pretending that Kris Jenner didn’t allow her then underage daughter to get lip fillers and more? Some highlights from Glamour UK:

Negativity: “So many negative things come at me all the time. Of course, it does affect me, but you develop a thick skin. Nothing has lasted so long that I haven’t gotten through it, so whenever a new bad story or rumour emerges, I know it will pass, too. Everything in life is transient.

Insecurities: “I was super insecure about my lips. I really wanted the illusion of bigger lips, so I overlined mine like crazy, and then people started getting obsessed.”

Her company Kylie Cosmetics: “Most importantly, the business has given me a purpose I love to work, as Mom has installed such a great work ethic in all of us. If I didn’t have that, I don’t know what I would do. I get to create, it exercises my mind and I am always thinking of how to make the formulas or develop new products. I work hard for Stormi and being able to pass Kylie Cosmetics onto her – if she is interested – would be such a cool thing to do.”

[From Glamour UK]

I remember those early days of Kylie “overlining” her lips. Some of it was overlining, but around the age of 15-16, Kylie just started getting lip fillers and then she claimed FOR YEARS that you too could get comically oversized-looking lips if you just overlined and applied your lipstick in a certain way. It was ridiculous. That being said, I do think forming her Kylie Cosmetics was somewhat organic – she had no idea that it would take off the way it did, and that the little “lip kit” company she started would turn into a billion-dollar enterprise. As for Kris installing a “great work ethic” in her children… well, some of her children. Kim, Khloe and Kylie got Kris’s hustling genes. Rob, Kourtney and Kendall didn’t.
