It’s the first family photo for new parents Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo.

The Maroon 5 frontman, 37, and the Victoria’s Secret model, 27, shared a sweet snapshot with their 7-week-old daughter Dusty Rose.

While babywearing their newborn during a beach stroll, the Namibian model captioned the family photo with several emojis.

Meanwhile, The Voice star shared the same shot, and wrote, “Everything I need is right here. (Beach optional).”

The new parents – who were wed in 2014 – welcomed their first child on Sept. 21. A few days later, they introduced Dusty Rose via social media.

Ava DuVernay attended the Academy’s Governors Awards on Saturday night. She is a member of the Academy, directors’ branch. Last year she challenged Michael Mann for a seat on the Board of Governors. As you know, she has been one of the most vocal crusaders for change in the industry, lobbying – a…

Here are some photos from this weekend’s AFI Fest premiere of Miss Sloane, an adult drama starring Jessica Chastain. The fashion was not great at this premiere, and it pains me to say that. I like Chastain so much, but she’s SO hit-or-miss. Jessica wore this Prada dress which is just the worst. The color and fabric are bad (it looks like cheap taffeta), the bust bow is awful and dated, and the mullet design of the hem is just not cute. Bad, bad, bad. Oh, and it’s made worse by the turquoise jewelry accents! Nope.

Chastain has this habit, in the past few years, of flying undercover with films that could and should potentially be Oscar contenders. That’s what Miss Sloane feels like. Right now, all of the hype for the Best Actress race is about Ruth Negga, Annette Benning, Natalie Portman and Emma Stone. But Jessica could slip in there with Miss Sloane. Here’s the trailer:

It looks good. It looks timely, although I do tend to think that Hollywood loves to glamorize the whole Washington lobbyist/fixer job. Most of the time, those people are just boring lawyers or former congressional aides with imperfect lipstick and ill-fitting pantsuits.

Costars Alison Pill and Gugu Mbatha-Raw joined Jessica at the premiere. Gugu wore a flirty little Erdem dress which I do truly like.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds covers GQ‘s Men of the Year issue and opens up about family life with wife, Gossip Girl alum Blake Lively, and their daughter James, nearly 2, and newborn baby girl.

On his happy family-of-four: “I’m on the precipice of having a real American family. I mean, I always imagined that would happen, and then it happened. Every idiotic Hallmark-card cliché is true.”

On being comfortable with himself: “I think that was a slightly fear-based reaction—I never wanted to reveal too much. Even now I’m a little nervous, because you’re having a conversation with somebody, and you could say something that either (a)just exposes your utter explosive ignorance about any given subject or (b) could be misinterpreted. I used to just shut down, like, “Okay, only crack jokes and cover the subject at hand in a very kind of cursory way.” But I’ve embraced the fact that I’m smart. I’ve embraced the fact that I’m an idiot. I’ve embraced the fact that I’m funny. If this were ?ve, four, three years ago even, I wouldn’t have been like, “Come on in to my home, meet the baby.” It’s all human life. Take it or leave it.”

On when he knew it was going to happen with Blake: “Probably after the sex. No, we were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that’s open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, “Want to dance?” No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, “Oh, I think I just crossed a line.” And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don’t really need to go into what happened after that.”

America Ferrera was fairly confident that Hillary Clinton was going to be our next president. She has been campaigning for Hillary since 2008 and has been very vocal in her support this entire election. Just as actively as she campaigned for Hillary, she’s denounced Donald Trump, writing an Open Letter to Trump in July of this year that went viral. She and her husband did everything they could to try and elect Hillary. Tuesday night, she made her way to the Javits Center to celebrate the first female president of the United States. Obviously that did not happen and even though more than half of the country voted for her, Hillary is not president. After eight years of actively campaigning for a candidate only to see her lose to someone who ran on a platform of hate, America was left in shock. She posted about it to Instagram on Wednesday:

The grief comes in waves. As if someone I loved died. I’ve never felt this brand of sadness before. If you cried all day- you are not alone. We deserve to mourn. Patiently waiting for the sadness to transform into something more useful.

Robert DeNiro has also discussed his profound feeling of grief. I have felt great disappointment and heard serious anger in past elections but I don’t ever remember an aftermath that led the country to experience the five stages of grief. “Patiently waiting for the sadness to transform into something more useful” – I love that America, even in her grief, cannot help but end on a note of progress. Yesterday we read that Katy Perry channeled her anger into a very useful donation to Planned Parenthood.

Peaceful protests occurred across the country this weekend. Some not-so-peaceful disputes are raging on all the interactive social media platforms. People are wearing safety pins, signing petitions, finding ways to volunteer – just trying to figure out how to process the amount of emotion in the wake of this election. I have the unique perspective of being in California, which went to Hillary by a large margin. Even notoriously red Orange County went blue. My children attend very diverse public schools. I honestly thought we were much farther along than we are but I just assumed, I didn’t do my due diligence. However, just yesterday, as I took a walk in my neighborhood, I noticed Trump bumper stickers I hadn’t seen before. I’ve read the horrifying accounts of hateful graffiti and harassment in utter shock. I’m just as much to blame for keeping my head in the sand. In keeping with America’s last line on her Instagram, my “something more useful” is going to be to listen to those around me and never again turn a blind eye to what’s out there.

Here are some photos of Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice at the Yacht Club of Monaco over the weekend. Pierre looks… different. Hotter. I always thought he had such a fey, almost pretty look about him, but nowadays, he’s looking nice. The beard is really helping, plus he looks “filled out.” Those arms!! Pierre and his team competed in the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series, because that’s something rich, almost royal people do. I’m actually a little bit surprised that Pierre’s mother Princess Caroline lets him race boats, considering that’s how Pierre’s father died.

Anyway, as I said, Pierre’s bride was there too. Beatrice and Pierre married last year, in Monaco and in Italy, in what was seen by many as a merger of two grand European families. Beatrice is especially well-connected and rich, and Pierre is the nephew of the sovereign Prince of Monaco. Money, money, money. And connections. And now the two families will be even more connected, because Beatrice is knocked up.

A royal baby is on the way! Monaco’s Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice Borromeo are expecting their first baby, according to numerous European sources. While the Monaco palace isn’t commenting on the happy news, a very pregnant-looking Borromeo was spotted recently in New York’s LaGuardia Airport alongside her husband, who is 7th in line of Monaco’s succession. Borromeo is reportedly due in early 2017.

The royal baby will be the fourth grandchild for Princess Caroline, who happily celebrated her grandson’s lavish wedding to the Italian heiress in July 2015. Earlier this year, Borromeo told Glamour magazine that she wanted to start a family while continuing to concentrate on her professional career as a journalist.

[From People]

Caroline’s fourth grandchild… I forgot that Andrea (the oldest) has two kids now. Charlotte just has the one son. I do like that Pierre and Beatrice seemingly waited a year to start their family – they settled into married life, and there was probably no pressure on them. I’m not even sure where they live? I think Charlotte lives for the most part in Paris, but Pierre and Beatrice might live in Monte Carlo? I don’t know. Anyway, babies!

Also: judging from this photo of Beatrice over the weekend, I don’t think she’s that far along. “Due in early 2017” my ass. She’s probably due in the spring.

Ethan Coen is the Coen Brother not married to Frances McDormand. I’ll completely understand if you get Ethan and Joel Coen confused though, because I do too. Joel is the taller brother and he’s married to Frances. Ethan Coen is the shorter brother in these photos. Previously, if you had asked me if the Coen Brothers were particularly woke, I would have said “probably not.” I’m basing that off of their terrible joint interview earlier this year where they whitesplained/mansplained diversity in Hollywood. So, now, I would not have thought that the either Coen would have been particularly vocal about the politics involved in this year’s presidential election. As it turns out though, Ethan Coen has some thoughts. Ethan wrote a “thank you” essay, in the vein of Jimmy Fallon’s on-going “thank you” bit, to all of the people who made Donald Trump’s victory possible. Here it is, in its entirety.

Such a surprise! So many people to thank!

1. Jill Stein voters: You helped elect a man who pledges that he will, in his first hundred days, cancel contributions to United Nations programs to fight climate change. If your vote for Ms. Stein did not end up advancing your green agenda, it did allow you to feel morally superior to all the compromising schmoes who voted for Hillary Clinton. And your feelings about your vote are more important than the consequences of your vote. So — thank you!

2. Gary Johnson voters: Thank you, for similar reasons. You, too, may now reward yourselves with feelings of warm self-approval, and your libertarian agenda will now be advanced (or not) by someone who admires the governance of Vladimir Putin. And to Mr. Johnson himself: Not only can no one blame you for this outcome — we’re all free agents, man! — but you can stop looking for Aleppo.

3. James Comey: Your publicity coup may have affected the outcome of the election. Or it may not have. But it will certainly breed speculation that it did. Such discussion will in some way serve the reputation of the F.B.I. Or not. You had to bravely contravene bureau protocols to make your contribution, so to you we owe a special thanks!

4. Anthony Weiner:
You also found a surprising way to contribute! Thank you, sir — your act never gets old!

5. Jimmy Fallon: How did you manage to shine a nonthreatening light on someone who alarms so many women, frightens so many undocumented families and slurs so many minorities? Can’t have been easy! Thanks! Maybe now you could have the Grand Wizard on your show: He leans his head to you, you slip his hood off and ruffle his hair. Could be a cute bit!

6. All our media friends. Thank you for preserving reportorial balance. You balanced Donald Trump’s proposal that the military execute the innocent families of terrorists, against Hillary’s emails. You balanced pot-stirring racist lies about President Obama’s birth, against Hillary’s emails. You balanced a religious test at our borders, torture by our military, jokes about assassination, unfounded claims of a rigged election, boasts about groping and paradoxical threats to sue anyone who confirmed the boasts, against Hillary’s emails. You balanced endorsement of nuclear proliferation, against Hillary’s emails. You balanced tirelessly, indefatigably; you balanced, you balanced, and then you balanced some more. And for that — we thank you. And thank you all for following Les Moonves’s principled lead when he said Donald Trump “may not be good for America, but he’s damn good for CBS.”

7. The Electoral College. Thank you, for being you.

I cannot thank: Hillary Clinton. She is not a morally perfect person — her fault! She was not the perfect candidate — her fault! Misogyny may have magnified her failings so as to show them balancing the outsized failings of her opponent — and that might not be her fault. But she fought to the very limits of her ability to deny us Tuesday night’s surprise, so I do not thank her. Pooh on you, Hillary Clinton!

I do thank, lastly:

8. The American electorate. Because in the end, we all did it together. We did it! We really did it!

[From The NYT]

While I agree with everything he said here, more or less, I do think there’s room to nitpick. For one, Jimmy Fallon should not be placed so prominently on this list. Yes, I thought Fallon’s “interview” with Trump was appalling and ridiculous, but Fallon was just one part of a journalist/media/comedy complex that worked furiously to normalize Trump’s rampant fascism. I also have to nitpick with the idea that the American electorate as a whole is flawed. As Samantha Bee so brilliantly said in her post-election monologue, “Don’t try to distance yourselves from the ‘bad apples’ and say, ‘it’s not my fault, I didn’t vote for him! #NotAllWhitePeople.’ If Muslims have to take responsibility for every member of their community, so do we.” Word.
