If you were fans of What Not to Wear and are addicted to home makeover shows, then you are in for a treat. Raven Symone (yes that Raven), a self-professed home design enthusiast, is teaming up with HGTV for a What Not to Wear-esque interior design show. It is tentatively titled What Not to Design. I am not sure about that title, it is definitely a mouth full, but the premise is on brand with HGTV. According to People’s writeup on the show, Raven and a team of experts will be helping homeowners renovate and redesign. Raven and her team will provide them with guidelines to use when picking out furniture and decor. They will also help homeowners sell their unwanted items to assist with the cost of the renovation. Below are a few more details from People:

Raven Symone… has teamed up with HGTV to create a pilot tentatively titled What Not to Design, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal, a home-focused take on the popular TLC reality series What Not to Wear, which starred fashion experts Stacy London and Clinton Kelly and ended in 2013.

“Style mistakes are not confined to clothing,” Symoné said in a press release. “Bad design prevents people from living well and truly enjoying their homes. My team and I are determined to show what to do — and what not to do — to create beautiful spaces.”

“To call these homes eclectic would be kind,” Symoné continued. “We’re going to give families a clean slate and show them how to style their new space and apply the “to-do” and “not-to-do” list to the rest of the house.”

Much like on What Not to Wear, the team of experts will take the homeowners under their wing and give them a top-to-bottom makeover, upgrading both their homes and their quality of life in the process. They’ll start by helping them go through their possessions and deciding what’s worth keeping, what should be thrown away and what can be sold online to add money to their reno budget.

Once that’s done, the properties will be emptied out completely — stripped of carpet, drapes, wallpaper — and made brand new, giving the subjects a fresh start in a beautiful space that truly feels like home.

I am not necessarily a fan of Raven Symone but I was a huge fan of What Not to Wear and Stacey London. I also love home design shows so I just may check this out. I am not feeling the name of the show as it doesn’t flow. Plus it is relying too much on a loose association with a popular show instead of standing on its own merits. As someone who believes that our surroundings affect our outlook, I appreciate shows about transformation through home design. That being said, home decor shows have saturated the market. I love Queer Eye and this sounds similar.

How does HGTV plan to set this show apart, are they relying on Raven’s personality? If so good luck to them. Most home decor shows don’t have millennial or BIPOC hosts. There’s so much good home design content on YouTube like Mr. Kate, Lone Fox and Alexander Gater. Good luck to Raven on her new show. It will be interesting to see her knowledge of reno projects and home decor.

Good news for those who’ve gotten the juice, the Miami Heat has a special seat just for you! The basketball club just announced they are reserving a special section of their American Airlines Arena for those who can show proof they’ve been vaccinated 14 days or more prior to game. That’s better than an American Airlines flight! The Heat are the first team to put this into place after the NBA approved separate sections for those who’ve been vaccinated. There will still be required COVID-19 precautions, even for the Vaxx-IP section, but they are less strict. All of this is just another step close to life as we once lived it. But it’s a safe and healthy step.

Miami Heat fans who are vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to sit in a special section for games beginning on April 1.

The team told the Associated Press Tuesday that two sections in the lower bowl of the American Airlines Arena will be dedicated to fully vaccinated fans.

The Heat is the first team to implement a vaccine section, just a week after the NBA told teams they could do these special sections in accordance with local and state health and safety guidelines, per AP.

Vaccinated spectators who choose to be in those sections will have to show proof that their final vaccine was administered at least 14 days prior to the game they attend.

COVID-19 precautions will still be enforced, but at a more lenient level.

Those fans will still have to wear masks and be brought through a separate entrance. There also will only be one seat dividing groups, as opposed to several seats that socially distance non-vaccinated fans.

If the vaccinated sections are within 30 feet of the court, those people also have to take a PCR test two days before the game or an antigen test the day of the game.

Unfortunately, due to guidelines, children unable to get vaccinated are not eligible to be in the vaccinated-only sections for Miami Heat games even if their parents are.

States are so varied in their COVID journey, it makes conversations interesting. I was talking to my friend in Atlanta who’s been fully vaccinated for a while because she qualifies as her mom’s caregiver. She was teasing me because she’d just been notified that 16 and up qualify in her area while I may – may – qualify by the 4th of July. Now that things are moving forward for everyone, I have no more vaccine envy, though. I’m genuinely thrilled every time someone gets the poke. So perks like a vaccinated only section seem really cool to me. The closer we can get to coming together, the better. As long as people are being smart about it, I say go for it. And honestly, anyone in Miami actually following proper protocol deserves a reward right now.

I assume the proof that the Miami Heat is requesting is the vaccine card issued once a person gets their shot. These cards are going to be very important for some time so get used to having it with you. It’ll almost definitely be required for travel and there will be many activities that end up asking for them. So store them where you keep your other important documents. Plus, God willing we won’t have another pandemic and they become collectors’ items, something you’ll want to show future generations. I don’t know if you guys know who Michael McKean is. He’s made a name for himself in much more current shows like Better Call Saul but I knew him first as Lenny on Laverne & Shirley. He recently posted a pic of his Polio vaccine card on Twitter. I know it’s hard to believe, but some day, this will all be so far in our rear-view mirrors, someone’s going to say, “Gran? Tell about the time when you all had to stay inside for a year… “

Megan Thee Stallion covers the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar, in a photoshoot which Megan “reviewed” and helped edit, according to photographer Collier Schorr. People were mad about this editorial – they compared this shoot to Vogue’s Kamala Harris covers, in that both magazines took dynamic, interesting, cool Black women and made them look too undone, and not as badass as they actually are. For what it’s worth… I like how “real” Megan looks in the editorial. They didn’t Photoshop her legs and hips. She’s such a natural beauty and the lowkey styling highlighted that. I trust that Megan liked these photos and this is how she wanted to look. You can read Megan’s interview here. Some highlights:

Her impending graduation from Texas Southern: “I cannot wait. I’m going to have the biggest graduation party,” Megan says. She’s looking forward to wrapping up her final semester at Texas Southern, where she’s been working on a degree in health administration, taking online courses there since she transferred from Prairie View A&M when her career started taking off. “But when all of this happened, I’m like, ‘Wow, so nobody is going to see me walk across the stage?’…You fought through the procrastination. You fought through crazy professors. You made it home the next day from the party and still went to class. You know what I’m saying?”

Comfortable in her own skin: “I’m realizing that I don’t have to be in full glam every time you see me, because I’m just getting more comfortable with myself and more comfortable with my skin. I know that I’m a person that everybody looks to, and they’re like, ‘Oh, Megan, she’s a confident woman. She’s so strong.’ But you have to go through things to become that person.”

Pandemic life: “When everything first started… I was super nervous because I’m not an introvert. I’m a person that likes to be around people, interact.”

She worked on her album, Good News, during lockdown: “I feel like I was tested, and I’ve passed,” she says. Working in this pared-down format, she could keep improving the project at every stage in the process. It was a bespoke experience that she expects she’ll keep. “I’m not a perfectionist. But I like what I like how I like it.”

She’s getting her degree for her mom & grandma: “Before my mom passed, she really would be on my butt about getting my degree,” she says. Her great-grandmother was always asking, “You are going to get them papers?”

When she doesn’t react to things the way her fans want her to: “I feel like you cannot hold people to a God standard. You do not do that to human beings.”

[From Harper’s Bazaar]

There’s a section of the interview devoted to the Tory Lanez mess, the fact that he shot her last summer when they were coming back from a party. But Megan doesn’t say much, and that’s fine with me. We need to get out of this sensibility where we expect victims of crimes to endlessly relive or relitigate what happened to them. Megan has already spoken at length about it and if she wants to speak about it again, we’ll be here and we’ll listen. Until then, I’m happy to hear her talking about her excitement about graduating from college and what the pandemic taught her. She sounds like she’s in a good place and I’m sure her mama and grandma would be so proud of her.
