Ugh, another Duggar courtship. Let’s hope this one doesn’t crash and burn because of Chester Molester Big Brother! Just days after Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo, Jinger’s younger sister Joy-Anna Duggar has started “courting.” Joy-Anna is 19 years old, and the chances are pretty good that this guy will be the only one she ever dates. They’ll probably be married by Valentine’s Day and then the Duggar family will cycle in the next child’s courtship. Here’s a photo of Joy-Anna with her new guy:

Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, has entered into a courtship with her friend of 15 years, Austin, the teen revealed on Tuesday’s special episode of Counting On: Jinger’s Wedding. Just weeks after older sister Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo tied the knot with her former pro soccer player husband Jeremy Vuolo in front of nearly 1,000 friends and family, Joy-Anna confirmed that she is now spending intentional time with Austin.

“Hey y’all! I’m Joy Duggar and this is Austin,” Joy-Anna said in a video on the Duggar family website.

“I just asked her to enter a courtship with me,” Austin told cameras as he sat beside Joy-Anna.

“And I said yes!” Joy-Anna added. “We’ve known each other for a long time.”

Austin chimed in, “Almost 15 years. I picked this spot because last time we were here together was August 1, 2015.”

‘There was a whole group of us that came up,” Joy-Anna explained. “And we were just hanging out and it was really late at night, stars were just gorgeous. For me that’s really special, but then just being with him. And then now it’s even more special because it’s where we start our courtship.”

“It’s a place that I’ve come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord,” Austin explained of the location that he chose. “I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her.”

Joy-Anna then stated that she was “surprised” when he asked. “I hadn’t been here in so long. I was not expecting this. So happy.”

Well… I’m searching for something nice to say. At least it’s not like she’s being sold off to some guy she barely knows. It’s clear that they have the same group of friends and they’ve known each other a long time, which sounds surprisingly typical for how teenagers actually date. Still, the fact that she’s probably going to be expected to marry this guy is what bugs me. That and how Jim-Bob and Michelle announce the courtship in a YouTube video. How embarrassing.
