God help me, but I’ve fallen in love with LeAnn’s cream sweater. That’s a really beautiful sweater, damn it. Anyway, these are photos of LeAnn Rimes outside of The View yesterday. LeAnn is BEYOND pleased that she has a reason to do some press these days: she’s releasing her super-sad Christmas-themed EP, full of random Christmas-yodeling, of course. LeAnn is trying to market herself as Miss Christmas, when we all know that there can only be ONE Miss Christmas and that’s Mariah Carey. Still, LeAnn is trying. She’s trying to make it seem like she’s all about Christmas everything and please oh God buy this stupid album.

With a new Christmas album available, LeAnn Rimes is obviously a big fan of the holiday season, especially now that she has two stepsons to celebrate with! The 33-year-old singer joined the ladies of The View on Monday morning and gushed about being able to spend her favorite time of year with her husband, Eddie Cibrian, and his two sons, Mason and Jake.

In fact, LeAnn joked that she’s totally the type who starts decorating around Halloween. “People get really angry, about that, too! They’re like, ‘You cannot decorate before Thanksgiving!’ But I like to extend the holiday. I’m very thankful for my Christmas tree and my decorations!”

Other than making sure the décor gets up early, LeAnn says she also has some holiday traditions she’s started with Eddie and her stepsons.

“The first year we actually spent together with the kids at Christmas, he went out to the mall and picked up this little ornament that’s four peas in a pod and put our names on it,” she revealed. “It was the sweetest thing ever he brought home! Since then, we’ve been kind of doing that same thing, that tradition of getting an ornament to commemorate every year.”

As for their plans this Christmas, Mason and Jake—who will be splitting time with their mother, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville—will join them on Christmas day.

“They’ll be with us! We get them, like, Christmas mid-day,” LeAnn explains.” So we’ll have Christmas morning all on our own which will be kind of nice.”

This time of year is also really important to LeAnn and Eddie, as they got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2010.

“We sometimes will go down to the place where he proposed to me, actually,” she explains. “We’ve gone and had a little drink down there and hung out before we go to his parents’ house because his mom always cooks this big Cuban feast.”

[From E! News]

I’m of two minds on the early-Christmas-decorators. I genuinely enjoy the fact that many of my neighbors love to decorate for their homes for the Christmas, and I love seeing tasteful (and even not-so-tasteful) Christmas light displays, etc. I enjoy it because I have literally no interest in doing that to my home. I’m Ms. Scrooge about my own Christmas decorations at this point (Bah Cumberbug!). Now, all that being said, decorating for Christmas right after Halloween? Nope. The earliest should be around Thanksgiving, in my opinion. If it’s the first week of November and you’re hanging up Christmas lights…well, your neighbors might hate you.

And LeAnn never fails to irritate me when she claims her stepsons as her own. I did chuckle at the part where Eddie picked up a (cheap, tacky) Christmas ornament and LeAnn acted like he brought home the Hope Diamond.

If you want to cringe at LeAnn’s low-quality production values, check out her video for “Today Is Christmas.” It is… SO BAD.
