Tiffani Thiessen and her husband, Brady Smith, have been quarantining with their kids Harper, 10 and Holt, five, in their beautiful Montecito home. Recently Tiffani shipped her little ones off to their grandparents and was so excited to get rid of them, she posted a celebratory video to her Instagram about it. Tiffani talked to Us magazine about coping with lockdown. During a round of Quarantine Confessions, she admitted to the occasional meltdown – one as recently as this weekend – because she can never get a moment to herself.

To each their own! Tiffani Thiessen has no shame in admitting her quarantine habits, both good and bad.

When Thiessen recently caught up with Us Weekly, she played a game of “Quarantine Confessions.” At the time, the Saved by the Bell alum, 46, dished on the many things she’s done while sheltering at home, including experiencing mommy meltdowns.

“Of course I have, yes. I had one this weekend,” she admitted, before noting that the recent news of Los Angeles Unified School District “not going back” to traditional schooling and the “numbers going up” for coronavirus cases hasn’t helped.

Thiessen said that she doesn’t have a place at home where she can hideout when the going gets tough. “There’s not a room in my house that, as a mother, I can go to that they will not find me. That’s crazy,” the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum said. “That is the difference between the role of a mother and a father. My husband, [Brady Smith], can hide and they will not look for him. Mommy, totally different.”

Early on in her quarantine, Thiessen would “definitely” go through “a glass or two” of wine per night. However, she said she’s been “good” about her alcohol consumption during quarantine more recently.

[From Us]

Girl, same! I was just telling CB the other day about losing it and shouting at my kids, one of whom deserved it. Not just a, “hey, pull it together,” type of warning, more like an open mouth and unleash hell kind of moment. I’m not proud of it, but I won’t lie and say that it didn’t prove somewhat cathartic. And much of the issue is exactly what Tiffani is talking about, the fact that my space is always shared, not matter where I am or what I am doing. Usually it isn’t an issue because I genuinely like the people I live with. But I have to get better about shutting my office door and allowing myself to have my moment, like Michelle Obama counseled. I did it one day. It freaked everyone out because I hadn’t given any advance warning, but it hit the reset button for me, so I won’t wait too long to do it again.

Tiffani said to combat the lockdown blues, she and her family have been doing, “lots of arts and crafts… [We’re also doing] puzzles, lots of puzzles.” Can I be honest? I am so f*cking tired of crafts and board games at this point. I said we really needed to break out of our rut on Saturday and two members of my household suggested yet another board game. I almost threw it at them. I need something a little more extreme now, like recreating casinos and art galleries for my family to “visit.” After work today I’m taking my daughter and dogs to Petco to shop for some new toys and yes, I actually have that as an activity on my calendar. One thing Tiffani said they are doing is a “family canvas” in which they are all contributing. That kind of collective artwork intrigues me some. My husband is hellbent on filming a horror short with some new movie software he’s downloaded and we’ll all contribute to that. Hopefully that will scratch some itch because I’m about tapped creatively.

151 days ago, Breonna Taylor was murdered in her own home by police officers in Lexington, Kentucky. Breonna was a 26-year-old EMT who returned home from her shift and went to bed. In the middle of the night, three police officers executed a “no knock warrant” – except the warrant was for a house ten miles away. There are differing stories about what happened between Breonna’s boyfriend and the three cops, but none of that changes the fact that Breonna is dead and her murderers are free. The three cops who murdered Breonna – Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove – have not been charged or arrested with any crime. They were put on administrative leave, and the Louisville Internal Affairs has investigated, and the FBI investigation is apparently ongoing. It shouldn’t be this hard. When a murderer hides behind the badge, he’s still a f–king murderer. Arrest all of them.

Which is why celebrity women have taken up Breonna Taylor’s case. Oprah put a photo of Breonna on the current issue of O Magazine, and Oprah paid for 26 billboards in and around Louisville demanding the arrest of Breonna’s killers. On the 150th day since Breonna was murdered, celebrity women – in what was an organized effort – all posted photos of themselves wearing “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor” t-shirts. The t-shirts were made by the brand Phenomenal in association with the Breonna Taylor Foundation.

It’s been 150 days since Breonna Taylor was murdered in her sleep by Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove—and her killers have not been charged. Former Spanish King Juan Carlos leaves Spain **FILE PHOTOS**

Do you ever think about where you would go if you suddenly had to exile yourself from your country? I think about it all the time. Is that weird? Like, it’s one of my favorite thought-exercises, especially during the Trump era. Realistically, I think I would probably go to India, where I have extended family. But I also wonder what it would be like to exile myself down to Argentina. But what would it be like to throw yourself into exile when you have a $100 million in Saudi kickback money in a bank account? Where would you go then? Despite rumors that Spain’s King Juan Carlos had exiled himself in Portugal or the Dominican Republic, the new claim is that he’s in Abu Dhabi:

It was announced on Monday that the father of King Felipe VI of Spain had left the country in self-imposed exile just weeks after he was linked to an investigation into high-speed rail contracts in Saudi Arabia. Now, it appears he might be living the high life in the Middle East, staying in a £10,000-a-night presidential suite at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Spanish news outlet ABC reports that the monarch took a private flight with five others last Monday from Vigo in north-west Spain. He made the final part of his journey via helicopter. It also stated that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, had made the hotel paparazzi-proof for the Spanish royal.

[From Tatler]

Abu Dhabi?? Well, it’s a playground for the rich and… shady. Many of those emirate countries are leaning hard into tourism, especially at the elite level, the “former king” level. Plus, many kings and sheikhs look out for their own – it’s little surprise to me that Juan Carlos was welcomed in another country controlled by a powerful sheikh.

Meanwhile, the situation for the Spanish royal family continues to be pretty awful. Protesters are still agitating about the need to end the monarchy. It’s so bad that King Felipe is now circulating the story that he personally banished his father from the country and that Felipe was particularly concerned about his father’s German mistress Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein. It’s all connected though, the kickbacks, the financial fraud, Juan Carlos’ German rosebushes.

Pippa Wedding

One of my favorite dumb dramas from the early days of Prince Harry and Meghan’s courtship and engagement was the stupidity around whether Meghan was invited to Pippa Middleton’s wedding to Terribly Moderately Wealthy James Matthews. Do you remember all of that? First of all, the press coverage around Pippa and TMW James was hysterical, and clearly written in Jane Austen-esque prose. Pippa was a simple local beauty from Bucklebury, and James Matthews was the dashing hedge-fund gentleman who was terribly rich. The villain of the fairy tale was Meghan, whose beauty rivaled fair Pippa and it was feared that Meghan’s presence might distract from the Middleton’s gaudy family show. As it turns out, Pips had good reason to fear being overshadowed, because Kate did her damnedest to pull focus on her sister’s wedding day. It was all really funny. But did you know that Meghan was prepared to attend Pippa’s wedding up until the day of??

The media frenzy that followed their every move made them somewhat of a reluctant addition to the guest list for Pippa Middleton’s vows on May 20, 2017. Both the bride and her mom, Carole, privately harbored concerns that the American actress’s presence alongside Harry might overshadow the main event.

Meghan put careful thought into her outfit, leaning heavily on Jessica [Mulroney] to pull together an ensemble that was stylish without being splashy when walking into the church with Harry. Her determination not to make a misstep at Pippa’s wedding was just one in many actions she took befitting a woman on track to becoming royalty.

Despite her best efforts, Meghan’s presence at Pippa’s wedding did pose a problem—but it had nothing to do with her clothes. The day of the nuptials, The Sun ran a cover story, “It’s Meghan v Pippa in the . . . Wedding of the Rears,” accompanied by a rearview paparazzi picture of Meghan in yoga pants leaving a central London yoga studio that week side by side with the infamous photo of Pippa from behind during Kate’s 2011 wedding ceremony.

Harry and Meghan agreed that she couldn’t possibly turn up at the church, only fifty meters away from a specially arranged media pen, after such a crass cover story. If they worried their arrival might create a media circus despite taking every precaution, now they had no doubt that it would. Meghan’s church outfit, and Philip Treacy hat, would have to be worn another time.

[From Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Making of a Modern Royal Family]

“Both the bride and her mom, Carole, privately harbored concerns that the American actress’s presence alongside Harry might overshadow the main event” – privately harbored, OH MY GOD. That was literally the conversation for months! The Middletons were so pressed that a glamorous American would steal focus from Precious Pippa and the Middletons absolutely sent stories out before the wedding, encouraging Meghan to avoid the wedding but still wanting Harry to come.

Anyway, Finding Freedom also says that Meghan and Harry did drive to Bucklebury together, and Harry “dropped Meghan off at the Airbnb a close friend and fellow wedding guest had rented before continuing on to the chapel.” Meghan then changed into her reception outfit, “a decidedly unflashy long black gown and did her own makeup.” A hairdresser had already done her hair that morning, when she was still considering attending the wedding. After the wedding, Harry returned to the Airbnb and he and Meghan had lunch together, then they went to the evening reception where Pippa made all couples sit separately. Meghan ended up seated at the same table as Mirka Federer, who was at the wedding with her husband Roger Federer. Harry and Meghan reunited on the dance floor but they largely had a quiet night and drove back to London at around 2 am. I’m absolutely positive that the Middletons consider Mirka and Meghan the same way: as women to be ignored and shunned so that their husbands can pay attention to Kate and Pippa. So f–king tacky.

Who did this? ??? #HowToGetAwayWithWAP (?@harpybitxh)

Social media has been full of think pieces and celebration of Meg Thee Stallion and Cardi B’s song, WAP. The video was set in a multi-room mansion and included cameos from stars like Normani, Mulatto, and Kylie Jenner. Many Tik Tokers and Instagrammers recreated it from dance moves to hilarious reimagined budget sets like TheReggieRay’s use of gummy worms in place of snakes.

Celebrities also got in on it. Halle Berry posted a gif of Cardi and Meg running with the caption “Me running to the car to blast WAP away from my children.” But it was Viola Davis who set Black twitter on fire when she retweeted and Instagrammed a photo someone created of her face and body superimposed on Kylie Jenner in her cheetah outfit. On Instagram she identified the artist, harpybitxh. In one of her other posts, she posted the video of her character Annalise Keaton dancing to the song, with the hashtag #HowToGetAwayWithWAP.

Viola is often seen as staid because she portrays dramatic characters and takes on serious issues, so it’s fun to see her laughing it up. I enjoyed seeing her getting in on the action and being made into a sex symbol.

Viola has said she liked playing the messier, more sexualized (not sexy) and slightly sociopathic Annalise Keating in HTGAWM and how freeing that was. She is absolutely stunning and I’d like to see her take on more romantic and sexier roles. She played the hell out of Annalise. It’s a rarity in Hollywood to see someone on the big screen with that smooth dark melanated skin being an object of desire. Until then, Viola will be THE ‘WAP‘ queen of social media memes and I am here for all of it.

Royal wedding

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s Finding Freedom is out now, but this story came out just a few days before the book came out. The history: in March 2019, the smear campaign against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already been in full-swing for months. The Sussexes and Cambridges had decided to split up their offices, and the Cambridges gave Harry and Meghan a going-away present: a particularly nasty “tell all” article in Tatler, in which Meghan was blamed entirely for the falling out between William and Harry. She was also blamed for being a “diva” at her wedding (because she wanted to wear a dress the Queen didn’t like) and for, as always, making Kate cry salty white tears.

In that Tatler piece, we also heard that Meghan had “banished” some of Harry’s oldest friends from his life. Meghan was blamed for freezing out several members of Harry’s old posse, including Tom “Skippy” Inskip. From the FF excerpts we’ve already seen, it doesn’t seem like Meghan was doing much of the banishments and freeze-outs, it was Harry. Harry was the one who fell in love hard and fast and he expected to be supported by his friends and family. What he got was a lot of racist, sexist bullsh-t from everyone and he acted accordingly.

One of Prince Harry’s oldest friends expressed his reservations about Meghan Markle but was ‘punished’ for giving his advice, a new book claims. Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip had been a close friend of the Duke after they met at Eton College, and were for a time inseparable. But according to the upcoming biography, Finding Freedom, Skippy had a falling out with Prince Harry after he shared his ‘doubts’ about the Duchess before they became engaged.

He is believed to have advised Harry and Meghan to live together before ‘doing anything more serious.’

A source close to Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the book’s authors that although his advice ‘came from a good place,’ Prince Harry ‘didn’t totally see it that way’, according to the Sunday Telegraph. ‘It really hurt him that someone he was so close to would not trust his judgment,’ added the source, who is believed to have spoken out with the permission of Harry and Meghan.

As a result, Mr Inskip and his wife Lara were reportedly ‘punished’ by being excluded from Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding party at Frogmore House. Instead, they had to watch as the Royal couple’s new friends such as Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney made their way to the event.

It is believed that Skippy, who lives in Washington DC and works at US tech giant Afiniti, have since reconciled after the death of his mother-in-law last year following severe mental health problems. Skippy was one of those in Las Vegas in 2012 when Harry was infamously caught playing naked billiards with showgirls in a hotel suite.

[From The Daily Mail]

We knew it at the time, but it’s still interesting to see all of these “well, actually” takes on old stories where Meghan was always to blame for everything under the sun. Well, actually, Harry was severely disappointed by the lack of support from his brother and his friends. Well, actually, Harry heard all of the sh-t his friends said about Meghan behind his back. Well, actually, Harry is perfectly capable of making up his own mind about who he wants in his life. All Meghan did was exist and that apparently made all of these idiots show their asses and Harry acted.

The Duchess of Sussex talks with Prince Charles at the Westminster Abbey Commonw

CB and I are going through Finding Freedom piece by piece, and I have to admit something: I did not think that there would be so much info/gossip about Prince Charles’ relationships with his sons and daughters-in-law. I am not surprised by the narrative in Finding Freedom though, because much of it we heard in the British press in real time as it was happening, which is that Meghan came into the fold and she was well-liked by Charles almost immediately. Charles saw Meghan for what she was: a confident, modern woman who would change the monarchy for the better. But of course, “sources” lean into the “sassy black woman” stereotype (does it matter if it’s said positively though??).

Meghan had her own reasons for admiring her father-in-law, who had poignantly walked her down the aisle when her own father let her down. At the time, a trusted confidant said Meghan “found such a supportive and loving father in Charles, which has really changed her life for the better.” Not a father-in-law but a “second father,” according to the source.

A friend of Charles’s said that the Prince of Wales had “taken a real shine to Meghan. She’s a sassy, confident, beautiful American. He likes very strong, confident women. She’s bright, and she’s self-aware, and I can see why they’ve struck up a very quick friendship.”

Charles liked Meghan’s energy. “The Prince of Wales has always been fond of people from the Arts, like Emma Thompson, who he’s been mates with for years,” another source said. “Meghan ticks the boxes. Most of all she’s married to his beloved youngest son and made him whole. Charles takes enormous delight and pleasure in that.”

[From Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Making of a Modern Royal Family]

Charles legitimately loves artists, I think because he’s got quite the artist’s soul too. He paints, he loves art, the theatre, actors and singers. But I think Charles just liked Meghan because he saw her as a breath of fresh air, especially after years of William and Kate purposefully snubbing him. FF also confirms a story we heard at the time, which is that Harry and Meghan went to Scotland in 2018 and spent time with Charles and Camilla in Caithness, at the Castle of Mey, which is owned by Charles. As for Meghan seeing Charles as a second father… I can see that too. Perhaps a Sassy Second Father.
