Until I get a chance to really get into the book, I’m using a variety of sources as I try to cull through the information which was already excerpted, and the information which is new-to-us (or merely the Sussexes’ side of old stories). As we’ve heard already, the palace courtiers were concerned about the fact that the brothers had a significant falling out. Now those stuffy old vipers are suddenly worried that the future of the monarchy is on the line. They honestly didn’t think about that as they were smearing the f–k out of Prince Harry and his wife, but here we are. From Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Making of a Modern Royal Family:

High-ranking aides across all three royal households were so alarmed at the press coverage and speculation on social media about a rift between the brothers and their wives that they began openly discussing the impact it could have on the monarchy if things weren’t righted. For months headlines had focused on the fractured relationships between the two couples. And the chatter on social media was just as loud. The whole situation was so out of control, a source said, “even the Queen was concerned.”

Courtiers attended a retreat in the spring of 2019 where the concerns were openly discussed. “We need to design a system to protect the monarchy full stop,” one said. “It’s no secret, the future of this monarchy relies solely on the four people currently in Kensington Palace. The public popularity only lies with them . . . When he [the Prince of Wales] becomes King, the only way it lasts is if the four of them are not at war. We cannot have them at war.”

“Harry was upset that it was playing out so publicly and that so much of the information being reported was wrong,” a source said. “There had been moments where he felt people working with his brother had put things out there to make William look good, even if it meant throwing Harry under the bus. It was a confusing time, and his head was all over the place—he didn’t know who or what to believe, and he and William weren’t talking enough either, which made everything a lot worse.”

I was curious if Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand would really lay the blame directly at William’s feet, and here we are. Before this, the FF excerpts seemed to indicate that Harry felt like the general palace intrigue was going against him, but now we can see that Harry knew his brother was behind a good chunk of it. To be clear, I don’t think William was behind *everything*. I don’t think Harry believed that either. But Harry knows his brother. Harry knew that William and William’s people were “throwing Harry under the bus.” And it’s still funny to me that after running one of the most damaging smear campaigns I’ve ever seen, the palace courtiers held an emergency meeting which basically amounted to “what have we done?!?”

The crazy, damaging leaks about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce stopped as soon as Angelina hired Samantha Bley Dejean in 2018. It’s no secret that Jolie’s original lawyer, Laura Wasser, was a massive part of the problem in the first years of the divorce negotiations. Since Dejean has been on the case, it’s felt like both sides have made an effort to keep their respective camps a lot quieter, although it also feels like Brad and his team are continuously running to the tabloids to make him sound like Father of the Year for spending a few hours with his kids. Anyway, we’re coming up on the four-year anniversary of Angelina filing for divorce. And it still hasn’t been finalized. What’s the hold-up? Well, it looks like one of the hold-ups was the fact that the “private judge” who has been overseeing the slow-moving divorce proceedings is in bed financially with Brad’s lawyers??

Angelina Jolie asked Monday that the private judge overseeing her divorce from Brad Pitt be disqualified from the case because of insufficient disclosures of his business relationships with one of Pitt’s attorneys. In a filing in Los Angeles Superior Court, Jolie argues that Judge John W. Ouderkirk should be taken off the divorce case that she filed in 2016 because he was too late and not forthcoming enough about other cases he was hired for involving Pitt attorney Anne C. Kiley. It says that during the Jolie-Pitt proceedings Ouderkirk has “failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and Respondent’s counsel.”

It goes on to say that Pitt’s attorney “actively advocated for Judge Ouderkirk’s financial interests in moving — over the opposing party’s opposition — to have his appointment (and his ability to continue to receive fees) extended in a high profile case.” An email to Kiley and Pitt’s lead attorney Lance Spiegel seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Pitt and Jolie, like other high-profile couples, are paying for a private judge in their divorce case to keep many of its filings and the personal and financial details within them sealed, though some legal moves must be made within standard court procedure. Jolie’s filing emphasizes that a private judge must follow the same rules of disclosure and conflict of interest that other judges must. The filing says “it doesn’t matter if Judge Ouderkirk is actually biased. Under California law disqualification is required so long as a person aware of the facts ‘might reasonably entertain a doubt’ about Judge Ouderkirk’s ability to remain impartial.”

Well well. The shenanigans with this divorce, my lord. The switching lawyers thing, the media games, Brad hiring all of those crisis managers and now this: Brad’s lawyers were in business with the private judge. How in the world did Judge Ouderkirk not simply recuse himself? This is so shady!

I’ve said this before, but I believe both Angelina and Brad are drawing this out for entirely different reasons. Angelina wants to slow-walk this so that the kids will have more time and space away from Brad and so they can make their own decisions about seeing him. Brad is drawing this out because of HIS financials, and the fact that he apparently doesn’t want to pay Angelina a settlement or child support.

Does anyone remember July of last year (I realize I could end that sentence here) when Tom Holland dared to step out with a woman who was not Zendaya? The Internet melted down and it took us all quite a while to recover (except for Zendaya who probably said, “who?” and then went ahead living her life). Well, Tom’s not afraid anymore and he’s gone Instagram official with his rumored girlfriend, Nadia Parkes, an actress who’s appeared in Doctor Who and The Spanish Princess. In June, Tom posted a captionless shot of Nadia to his Instagram, which was probably to test the waters for his fanbase’s reaction – kind of an early warning tactic. This past weekend, Tom posted this:

How stunning…. are those golf clubs

My first thought was, ‘well she’s not dressed properly for a golf course,’ but I don’t think that’s the point. There is practically nothing Tom loves more than golf so if he’s taking her to the greens, you know this is serious. Nadia followed suit and posted this shot of Tom with the caption, “If you can’t beat em, join em,” which is basically the golf widow’s motto.

Okay, so 1) how long has this been going on, 2) how serious is it and 3) who introduced them? Well, Elle reports 1) since May 2) very, they’re living together and 3) the Queen of the North.

Parkes and Holland were first reported to be dating in late May.

A source told The Daily Mail then that Parkes was staying with Holland, his brother, and a friend at their London flat. “It was early days for Tom and Nadia when the lockdown was announced in London,” the source explained. “They made the decision to isolate together, and things have been going great between them. Tom has told friends and family they’re in an official relationship and living together so soon into their romance has only made them stronger.”

The outlet reported that Parkes’ friend Sophie Turner and her husband Joe Jonas were believed to have introduced Parkes and Holland.

Holland previously made a point to keep his love life largely off social media. He told ELLE in July 2019 that he was single then but is “definitely a relationship person. I’m not the fleeting type at all; it’s not my way of life.”

I’m shocked at all these folks who decided to isolate with people they’ve only been dating for a short time but then it took six years to convince my husband and me that we could live together, so I may not be the measuring stick to go by. It’s possible that Tom and Nadia are still in lust so living together is all sex and rainbows. Or, they could be madly in forever love, I have no idea. But I’m glad they found each other, whatever brings folks joy in these harrowing times is welcome. And it’s serious enough that Tom is willing to put the relationship out there so we should probably get used to this pairing. They certainly make a nice-looking couple. Tom’s famous buddies jumped on his comments to give him their cyber-approval, like Imogen Leaver who complimented his choice of caddy and Jake Gyllenhaal who wryly commented, “Love golf. Great game.” As far as I know, Zendaya has not weighed in on the couple yet. While I am pretty sure she will approve whole-heartedly, one thing I know for certain is that when she does, the Internet will let us know.

Last week, Tiffany Haddish let everyone know that she and Common have become quarantine boos, that she is happy in love and dare I say getting sexed on the regular. She said that she loves him, that “this is hands down the best relationship I’ve ever been in” and that “yeah, we’ve been f—ing.”

With that hilarious confirmation, we knew how Tiffany felt about her relationship, but we hadn’t heard a peep from Common. During an interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan last Friday, guest host Elaine Welteroth asked Common about Tiffany and said she heard there was “a new love connection.” Common gushed about her. In fact, he lit up and called her “a wonderful woman, a queen and just a beautiful person, man.” He also said that “I just care for her a lot, enjoy her and am grateful to have her in my life” and that he’s really happy. You can see that part of the interview below.

I am happy for him too. I was really hoping this was a reciprocal relationship and that it wouldn’t go the way of Common’s past relationships with high profile black women. I don’t think I have ever seen him this excited about a relationship.

Even though this is fresh, I feel like if you spent quarantine together and came out not wanting to kill each other, then your relationship has the juice to go the distance. I know that Tiffany has been through a lot in her life and I would like to see her get her happy ending.

I try not to be all up in people’s business, don’t @ me, but I definitely will be keeping my eye on this relationship. Will Tiffany be the woman to finally nail down Common, the bachelor with the beautiful wide shoulders who makes gray turtlenecks look sexy? I hope so, and that both of them are happy long term.

Kelly Osbourne never really “went away,” we just stopped paying attention to her. She still gets work on various reality shows, like The Masked Singer and Project Runway Junior. She’s been in full view on red carpets and social media all this time. But somehow, people *just now* noticed that Kelly has lost a lot of weight and looks like a new person.

All of this happened when Kelly posted a series of photos on her Instagram over the past week. Celebrity friends and fans commented on the photos, complimenting her on her new look, and Kelly apparently said in the comments that she’s lost 85 pounds overall, although I don’t know when she started to “count.” I’m including some photos of Kelly from January of this year, and her weight loss was visible back then, but judging from her IG, she looks like she’s lost even more weight in lockdown. How can people stick to their damn diets in lockdown? I’m eating chocolate every day to cope with *waves hands around* all of this. Kelly went vegan at some point, years ago, but I don’t know if she’s still vegan.

I feel like there’s an “Adele” element going on here – it’s not that Kelly looks bad or anything, she does not. She just looks so different, and like Adele, I’m not entirely sure that weight loss is responsible for the dramatic change. I feel like both women have gone under the knife at some point for their “makeovers.”
