It’s been 22 years, but the “Door Debate” in Titanic just won’t, er, die. It was the subject of a 2012 Mythbusters episode, and memes featuring Barack Obama and Leonardo DiCaprio. Director James Cameron said that basically, Jack had to die, so the size of the door is beside the point. (I bet he wishes he’d requested a smaller one, though.) After Leo and Kate, the person most synonymous with the movie is Celine Dion, so it makes sense that Jimmy Fallon would ask her for her take during a recent interview that focused on her new album and tour. Here’s some of what she told Jimmy.

On the Celine-assaince and her fashion
I feel like I’m being born on every morning. I go to bed like this every night.

On having the longest residency in Vegas
Thank you to all the fans. I was supposed to be there for three months. I don’t know what happened.

At the end of Titanic, if Rose scooted over she could have saved Jack’s life. Do you agree with this?
Don’t put me in trouble. What if they want to do a Titanic number two? First, If you look closely to the picture, Rose is maybe dead or totally frozen and she’s not quite all there. Second of all, he doesn’t need an invitation. Maybe all his body is so frozen he didn’t have the strength to [sings] ‘Jump in for my love.’

On why she called her album Courage
The last three years my family went through tough times. A lot of people go through tough times. This is my first album in English without [Rene] physically but he is always within me. Courage [represents] all the album because it was difficult. Courage is such an important thing and a big word. All of us have courage. We need that in our lives.

I love when Celine spontaneously bursts into song. She seems so happy. You can tell that she’s definitely energized by her tour and the new directions her life is taking. I also think it’s great that Jimmy asked her about this and that she answered very diplomatically, pointing out that Jack and Rose were both in freezing water, so it almost doesn’t matter how big the door was, if neither of them had the strength to get him up onto it. Incidentally, Celine’s take on the unimportance of door size is better than James Cameron’s. She’s game to talk about any aspect of the movie, even one that’s been talked about endlessly already. He comes across as annoyed about the debate and calls it “silly,” when he could have easily asked the set/props folks for a smaller door in the first place.

I still remember going to the movies to see Titanic with a friend, and that a bunch of girls in the row in front of us were literally screaming/sobbing telling Jack to get off the ship as fast as possible. I alsoremember watching an interview with Kate in which she talked about filming the water scenes on her birthday, and she mentioned this to Leo. Since everyone was so miserable in the water tank, he said something like, “Darling, I don’t care.” While I don’t think that the water was freezing, I remember this in part because I was surprised that it wasn’t warmer so that they’d all be slightly more comfortable. Is this the end of the Door Debate? Probably not, but it should be. Celine has spoken.

As we learned last week, Kanye West’s religious delusions and political conservatism have attracted the attention of many preachers, pastors and con men. If anything, Kanye is stealing their con, but they don’t seem to mind because they can just work with Kanye to fleece even more people. Joel Osteen is the prosperity-gospel-wielding pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston. Osteen invited Kanye to speak at Lakewood this weekend, and Kanye did it. It was a success in that a lot of people came out. I guess it was a success in that Kanye calmly said some truly bonkers f–king bullsh-t too.

Kanye West is opening up about his faith. The Jesus Is King rapper, 42, stopped by pastor Joel Osteen‘s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, where he spoke a little about his spiritual journey.

“I know that God’s been calling me for a long time and the devil’s been distracting me for a long time,” he said while standing with the pastor in Osteen’s megachurch. “When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me, and I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a mental breakdown and there’s documentation of me drawing a church and [wanting to] start a church in the middle of Calabasas,” he added, referring to his 2016 hospitalization during his Saint Pablo tour.

West, who has spoken at length in recent months about his faith, went on to share despite “all of that arrogance and cockiness that y’all have seen from me” in the past, “God is now using him.”

“Because every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God and no weapon formed against me shall prosper,’ ” he said. “Jesus has won the victory. I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him,” he added, with a smile on his face. Towards the end of his time onstage, Osteen encouraged the crowd to welcome the rapper’s wife Kim Kardashian West as well as their daughter North, both of whom were sitting in the front row.

I’ve largely tapped out on covering all of the shenanigans around Johnny Depp and his lawsuit against Amber Heard, his ex-wife. He’s suing her because he claims that she lied about how he abused her. The thing is, I find his lawsuit to be further evidence of his abuse of Amber – he’s trying to punish her through the courts, he’s trying to stay in her life somehow. It’s gross. Anyway, about six months ago, we learned that Depp had a new, young girlfriend. Her name is Polina Glen, and she’s a 24-year-old Russian go-go dancer. They likely started dating in the early spring of this year, and yes, I found the whole thing shady – there were some rumors that Depp is in debt, and maybe Russian “financiers” are involved, and then he ends up dating some young Russian honey trap? It’s all very gross. Apparently, Polina has had enough though – she’s dumped Depp and “fled” back to Russia.

She’s the leggy Russian go-go dancer who found love with Johnny Depp despite being less than half his age. But now Polina Glen, 24, has ended her relationship with the 56-year-old Hollywood superstar and fled back to her homeland after finding the attention surrounding her ‘scary’, according to friends. It had been said that Depp and Ms Glen were even considering getting married after she moved into his mansion in Hollywood after just a few weeks. But now any thought of a wedding has been dismissed by Hollywood sources.

One close insider said: ‘Polina hated the attention the relationship was bringing her and found it scary. She’s now keeping her head down in Russia and told Johnny plans to get married were madness.’

The dancer reportedly told pals weeks into their relationship that Depp was desperate to meet her father Gennady and her veterinarian mother Irina – who is four years younger than him. The insider said: ‘Despite sneers that Polina was only with Johnny for his fame, she kept her head down while living with him, going to her dance choreography job and then back to his house. His level of celebrity and his ongoing battle with Amber grew too much for her. Johnny has been distracted by his feud with Amber and she didn’t think the time was right for them to commit to anything.’

Polina is thought to have spent the spring and part of the summer moving between Johnny’s Hollywood home and Russia but has now returned home ‘for the foreseeable future’, according to the source.

I feel sorry for this young woman and I hope she’s okay. Imagine how bad it was for her if her two choices were “stay in America, live in a mansion with a rich actor” OR “go-go-dance in Russia” and she f–king chose Russia. It would not surprise me at all if Polina got a good look at all of the crazy sh-t that’s around Depp these days – not to mention his Kanye-like break from reality – and she was like “you know what, no thanks, I’m out.” That’s honestly the best possible scenario here.

Kristin Chenoweth was on Seth Meyers earlier and I’m only just seeing it now. She was in a sparkly rainbow tie dye hoodie dress, which was adorable. She looked super cute like she just rolled out of bed in that outfit but did her full makeup and hair. She told a story about what she goes through to sanitize her area of a commercial plane and it reminded me of Naomi Campbell’s sanitizing regime. I only wish we had video of it like we do for Naomi. It seems like Naomi’s is more efficient as she actually wipes down the seat and remote instead of just spraying things.

I have a routine when I go on a plane. When I get on the plane [I spray disinfectant on everything]. The last gig I had was… a Target center opening. Beck was playing. I put on my mask, I also have a neck brace. The guy next to me was like ‘wow you’re really papared.’ I’m like ‘yeah, I’m not going to be talking during the flight.’ [sprays more disinfectant]. We get to the rehearsal. I walk in the dressing room and here’s [Beck’s] drummer, the guy that I sprayed. Can you believe it?

I have no problem with people disinfecting stuff on a plane as long as it’s relatively scent-free. I would be annoyed if someone sprayed a scented product next to me, especially if they sprayed it ON me! I guess there is something worse than people wearing heavy perfume on a flight. The smells in there get trapped and some perfumes make me dizzy. I bet Kristin was being self-deprecating though and she doesn’t really spray it on other people.

Kristin also said that she goes into vocal rest around her performances and that she has a board she writes on so she doesn’t have to talk. I like that she owns her diva-ness and puts herself first. Kirstin has a new album out called For The Girls in which she covers songs by female artists. She got Dolly Parton to record I Will Always Love You with her and she also does collaborations with Jennifer Hudson, Reba McEntire and Ariana Grande. Kristin met Ariana when she was just 10 and her grandmother brought her backstage after a Wicked performance. Ariana sang for Kristin and Kristin was so impressed by her she gave her a wand from the show and told her not to give up on her dreams. I love that story! She also met Reba McEntire when Kristin was just 19.

Here are some photos from last week’s premiere of Queen & Slim, the film written by Lena Waithe and directed by Melina Matsoukas (who directed some of Beyonce’s most iconic music videos). Queen & Slim looks SO GOOD. You can see the trailer here. The film marks the feature-film debut of Jodie Turner Smith, a young woman who has become something of a low-key tabloid/gossip interest because of her relationship with Joshua Jackson. Joshua and Jodie started dating this year, and they seemed to move very fast – from casual dating to engagement rumors within about five months. There were widespread reports – and even a seeming Instagram confirmation – that Jodie and Joshua did quietly marry back in August.

So, these photos are Jodie and Joshua’s first red carpet couple appearance. It’s a big deal and they look loved-up and he seems super-proud of his wife/girlfriend. People are making a big deal about how it appears that they’re wearing wedding rings too. Which is nice. I’m not going to make this into a huge thing but… it also appears that Jodie might be pregnant? Jodie was a model before she became an actress, and she had that model-trim figure. The dress is billowy for sure, but I’m pretty sure I spy a bump. We’ll see. In any case, congrats to them for all they’ve got going on this year.

I think Prince Andrew is one of the most disgusting people to ever exist. But I feel sorry for his daughters. Think about it, think about growing up with those two parents. Fergie is batty and Andrew is a dull pervert. It’s a wonder that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie ended up somewhat normal and barely productive (more so in Eugenie’s case, her job is in the art world). Well, is this the moment to have a little extra sympathy for Beatrice? Possibly.

Beatrice fast-tracked her engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi this year and there was a blitz of pleasant PR around Beatrice and how she “finally” found someone to marry her, and poor Beatrice, the last single girl, and poor Bea, everyone would compare her wedding to her sister’s. We learned that Beatrice wanted a smaller, quieter Windsor wedding and that she wouldn’t do the princess thing with a carriage or anything. But in the wake of Andrew’s catastrophic BBC interview, what will happen with Beatrice’s wedding now??

Princess Beatrice is due to get married in 2020, but after her father, Prince Andrew, gave an unprecedented interview, some worry her wedding could bear the brunt of the fallout. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, took part in an interview about his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died earlier this year. However, the attempts to answer questions only raised more, and the Duke’s interview was described as a “car crash”, with some expecting it to hurt his immediate family.

Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter Princess Beatrice got engaged to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi this year. The couple had yet to announce a date for the nuptials but said it would take place at some point in 2020. But now, some royal experts are questioning what impact the Duke’s interview could have on his daughter’s big day.

Royal expert and author Marlene Koenig tweeted: “Beatrice’s wedding will be collateral damage. I will not be surprised if she has a rather quiet wedding, out of the public eye, with a few photos, no live coverage.”

As I’ve been saying for weeks, I find it VERY interesting that Beatrice hasn’t set the date. My thought was that they were waiting for the Andrew stories to die down (pre-interview), but now I guess they’ll have to wait even longer to set the date. And yes, Beatrice is going to end up getting some super-quiet wedding in the closet of Balmoral or something. If I was in Bea’s position, I would just use this as an excuse to get married in Italy, on Edo’s family’s property. That is, if Edo is going to stick around. Because if I was in Edo’s position, I would bail.

During the eight years Barack Obama was president, Patricia Heaton was a somewhat vocal anti-Obama Republican. She wasn’t constantly talking about politics, but she showed her ass enough times for everyone to get the picture – she was one of those people who hated the ACA and hates women who… want their birth control covered on their health insurance. That speaks volumes. Anyway, Heaton made a big deal about how she wasn’t trying to be political anymore once Donald Trump came into office. She apparently is anti-Trump, or she was a few years ago.

Heaton still shills her conservative-family-friendly image, which is how she’s always popping up with new TV shows. Her latest is on CBS and it’s called Carol’s Second Act. It started in September. Heaton’s husband of 29 years, David Hunt, is an executive producer on the show.
And Hunt can’t keep his hands to himself around one young staffer on the show.

In early September, Broti Gupta, a writer on “Carol’s Second Act,” a sitcom starring the Emmy-winning actress Patricia Heaton, made a formal complaint against David Hunt, an executive producer on the show who is also Ms. Heaton’s husband. Ms. Gupta, 25, accused Mr. Hunt, 65, of touching her inappropriately on two occasions.

When she complained to human resources, Ms. Gupta said she did not think Mr. Hunt should be fired. Instead, she wanted him to go through sexual harassment training and see why he had made her uncomfortable. But after she made the complaint, she felt she was being penalized at work, she said in an interview. She quit the show in mid-September.

Margee Magee, 43, a writer with the title of co-executive producer, resigned in October. She said she quit because she felt she had been stripped of responsibilities after talking to higher-ups about tensions arising from Ms. Gupta’s complaint.

CBS Television Studios said in a statement that it had dealt with the complaints fairly, adding that Mr. Hunt had “cooperated fully with the process.”

So, let me get this straight: an old leech put his hands on an unconsenting 25-year-old coworker (with a significant power imbalance) repeatedly, she told HR and went out of her way to say that she merely wanted her harasser to do a sexual harassment class and for all of that… the 25-year-old woman was punished professionally because DUH, the power imbalance and Hunt was literally her boss. CBS is still a hotbed of toxicity, for sure, even after Les Moonves exited. As for Heaton and Hunt… their marriage sounds gross. Heaton hasn’t said anything about this publicly. Considering her rant about women taking birth control, I think I can probably guess what her reaction is.
