I have to keep reminding myself that Robert Pattinson has a girlfriend. My problem is that I just find Suki Waterhouse so… unmemorable. She seems like a perfectly nice person and she has that cute budget-Bardot look for a model, but I still can’t believe she and Rob are happening. Maybe he just felt like going for less drama, less angst, someone whose name he might forget. So, yes, Rob and Suki are happening. And Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are happening. So why not a double date? But why? Because British peeps, I guess.

Double trouble! Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn may keep their romance super-secret, but that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy a date night — with a couple of famous friends! The pair stepped out for dinner with Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse on Saturday, June 1, an onlooker exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

The foursome were spotted at San Vicente Bungalows in Hollywood where they “were laughing and talking” all night, says the eyewitness. “They were at a table, just the four of them. Rob and Taylor were across from each other.”

Date nights for Swift, 29, and Alwyn, 28, could even become more frequent. Despite their low-key relationship, the “Me!” singer “has become more comfortable being out” with the British actor, a source tells Us.

Pattinson, 33, and Waterhouse, 27, for their part, have kept most their romance under wraps. While the couple were spotted packing on the PDA in August 2018, a source confirmed to Us at the time that the pair “have been dating for months.” They have “known each other and been around each other for a long time,” the source told Us, noting that they “definitely have a love of music in common.”

BTS speaks to our SOULS! As for the double date… I’m sure someone will tell me that of course Joe knows Suki or Joe knows Rob or Rob knows Taylor, but quite honestly, I just believe that every British actor knows each other. Judi Dench knows Clive Owen, Clive knows Robert Pattinson, Rob knows Benedict Cumberbatch, etc. Taylor’s probably part of the British acting crew now because she filmed Cats in London. So there you go. The better question is: what did they talk about? Music? LOL. Also: Rob is seriously good friends with Katy Perry, so as always, another layer of drama, even though Katy and Taylor have buried the hatchet.

Last night, I took the time to read Madonna’s New York Times profile, “Madonna at 60.” I ended up liking it, and I ended up liking Madonna more than I expected to like her. That being said, I called the piece “overwrought and overwritten” in my earlier coverage, and it’s true. Madonna’s “later years” have been marked by her willingness to explain more of herself and her art, and she’s become a much better interview in the past, say, five years. But in the NYT piece, her quotes and asides were dropped into these mammoth expositional paragraphs which were largely about the NYT writer. As it turns out, Madonna didn’t like it. She posted this message on Instagram just a short time ago:

It seems. You cant fix society, And its endless need to diminish, Disparage or degrade that which they know is good. Especially string independent women. The journalist who wrote this article spent days and hours and months with me and was invited into a world which many people dont get to see, but chose to focus on trivial and superficial matters such as the ethnicity of my stand in or the fabric of my curtains and never ending comments about my age which would never have been mentioned had I been a MAN! Women have a really hard time being the champions of other women even if. they are posing as intellectual feminists.

Im sorry i spent 5 minutes with her. It makes me feel raped. And yes I’m allowed to use that analogy having been raped at the age of 19. Further proof that the N.Y.T. Is one of the founding fathers of the Patriarchy. And I say—-DEATH TO THE PATRIARCHY woven deep into the fabric of Society. I will never stop fighting to eradicate it.

Again, she’s not wrong. There were long sections of descriptions of people around Madonna or boring asides about her past whatever, and it was all so unnecessary. The article could have been a lot shorter while still keeping some of the fun details, like the part about all of the artwork in her London home, or some of Madonna’s funnier one-liners (I’m still thinking about one great line about an older woman making art is treated like a crime). Madonna’s also not wrong about all of the age talk – so much of the article was about her age, even the headline, “Madonna at 60.” That being said, that *is* one of the most fascinating things about her, that she’s still creating art and trying to be a pop star at her age.

Linda Fairstein has enjoyed fame since she led the investigation against Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, and Korey Wise for the terrible attack on Trisha Meili on the night of April 19, 1989. The case became known as The Central Park Jogger Case and the men were known collectively as the Central Park Five. Following the trial, Linda parlayed her experiences as the head of the Manhattan’s District Attorney Office’s sex crime unit into a lucrative career as a crime author. She also served on the boards of her alma mater, Vassar College and a variety of NYC nonprofits that aid victims of assault. Over the weekend, Linda’s name was thrown back in the spotlight because of Ava DuVernay’s powerful mini-series, When They See Us. As they say, fame is a fickle friend and Linda found out real quick what happens when public opinion is against you. In addition to an online attack that forced her off Twitter and a call to boycott her books, Linda has been forced to resign from several boards, including Vassar.

Author and former prosecutor Linda Fairstein — facing a swarm of controversy over a Netflix series that examines a wrongful conviction in a high-profile rape case — has resigned as a trustee of her alma mater.

Fairstein resigned as a member of the board of trustees of Vassar College, from which she graduated in 1969, the college in Poughkeepsie, New York, said Tuesday.

Emotions stirred by the Netflix series led to a petition calling for Fairstein’s removal from Vassar’s board as well other ones seeking a boycott of her books and a #CancelLindaFairstein movement on social media.

“I am told that Ms. Fairstein felt that, given the recent widespread debate over her role in the Central Park case, she believed that her continuing as a board member would be harmful to Vassar,” Vassar College President Elizabeth H. Bradley wrote in an online message Tuesday.

The author recently deleted her Twitter account after days of sparring with some Twitter users.

I have no sympathy for Linda because even with all the compelling evidence against her methods, she has only doubled-down on her insistence that she was right and just in this case. The convictions of the five men were vacated in 2002, when convicted rapist Mattias Reyes confessed to the crime and was linked both by pattern and DNA. At that time, Linda gave an interview to The New Yorker, defending her department’s prosecuting of the case, going as far as to say it was, “one of the most brilliant police investigations I’ve ever seen.” She claimed Mattias was merely the sixth attacker who stayed longer than the other five. Last July, when WTSU was in production, Linda wrote an essay for the New York Law Journal, once again defending the conviction and her work, even though she tried to sidestep some of the blame by shifting it to the juries who heard the cases and the technology that didn’t exist in 1989. In 2014, Linda challenged the $41M awarded to the Exonerated Five by the city of New York, demanding an explanation from the mayor for the settlement. Ava said when she reached out to Linda with WTSU, Linda tried to negotiate her involvement, including script approval. Linda said this never happened. And now that the mini-series is here, Linda has called it a basket of lies. The parallels between what she did to the Exonerated Five and what she claims is happening to her would be comical, if she hadn’t destroyed all those lives in the process. She has never taken responsibility; she has never apologized to the men and now she is facing the consequences of her actions.

I watched WTSU over the weekend. It’s powerful in all the ways people have said. I was as impressed with Ava’s direction and storytelling in this as I was with Selma. I didn’t want to watch it, I was already depressed from events in my own life, but I felt I should. I’m glad I did.

A few months ago, I covered a Sofia Richie interview and I walked away from it unimpressed. I’ve never found her impressive at all, to be fair. She’s a vapid young woman whose whole life is based on nepotism. I remember when she was dating Justin Bieber too, and all of that weirdness, but that was several years ago, when she was 17-18. Now she’s 20 years old and she’s been with Scott Disick for about two years. What do they do all day? I think they just shop and go out to eat and… that’s it. Well, let’s base a marriage on that.

The Lord is getting a lady! Scott Disick and Sofia Richie are discussing tying the knot, multiple sources confirm in the new issue of Us Weekly. The couple of more than two years “have talked seriously about getting engaged,” says a source. “It’s a real possibility.” Another adds, “As it is now, Sofia and Scott look at each other as life partners.”

And despite their 16-year age difference, the model, 20, and reality star, 36, “are in a great place and stronger than ever,” the second source continues.

Better yet, Disick has the full support of his ex, Kourtney Kardashian. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 40, is “not only unbothered by the idea of them getting engaged,” the first source reveals, “they’d [even] have her full support.” Especially since Richie gets on so well with Disick and Kardashian’s children — Mason, 9, Penelope, 6, and Reign, 4. Adds the source, “Sofia is really so good with his kids and she has a good friendship and relationship with Kourtney.

Scott is a 36 year old man with real-man problems: alcoholism, a de facto ex-wife (though they were never married) and shared custody of THREE children. Why would a 20 year old “model” want to tie herself down with all of that? I don’t know. For what it’s worth, I don’t really hate Scott, I just think he makes terrible life decisions. And Sofia doesn’t even know what she’s doing, really. F–k it, maybe they’ll last forever.

Ivanka Trump made an ass of herself during her father’s state visit to Great Britain. First of all, she had no business being there. She had no business being included in the state dinner or the 10 Downing Street meeting. But there she was, baby-whispering and looking all kinds of ‘80s busted, like the worst Diana-drag effort ever. She barely got photographed with Prince Harry, and she didn’t get a photo-op with any other royals except… Prince Andrew! LOL.

As it turns out, Ivanka figured out a way to skip off for a day in between the D-Day events in Normandy and the UK state trip. So she went to The Hague for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019. These photos are from her appearance there. What was funny is that Ivanka breezily announced it on Twitter and everyone made the same joke.

Perhaps this is the secret, this is the plan. We don’t really need to outsmart the Trumps because LMAO. Earlier this week, Page Six reported that Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk are hanging on by a thread and that they’ll probably break up soon. Sources claimed that they’re trying to make it work for their daughter’s sake, but things just aren’t that great. Which is sad, truly, because their daughter Lea is only two years old. As I said in that post, I’ve become something of an Irina fan and if and when they split, I’m going to be Team Shayk. Well, Us Weekly has a new story which is basically a repeat of Page Six’s exclusive, but here you go:

Trouble in paradise. Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk’s relationship is on the rocks, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

“They haven’t been getting along for a while,” the source says. “They aren’t calling it quits yet, but they are not in a great place.”

Cooper, 44, and Shayk, 33, were first linked in April 2015. The duo welcomed their now 2-year-old daughter, Lea, in March 2017. Reports first surfaced that the twosome were on the outs after Cooper’s chemistry with his A Star Is Born costar Lady Gaga continued to make headlines earlier this year. However, the source tells Us that Cooper and Shayk’s relationship struggles have “nothing to do with Gaga.” A second insider adds that “nothing romantic” happened between Cooper and Gaga when they played onscreen couple Jackson and Ally in the Oscar-nominated film.

Again, leave Gaga out of it! Lady Gaga had nothing to do with anything involving Irina and Bradley! I don’t even think B-Coop and Gaga got along that well during the filming or the promotion of A Star Is Born. And truly, they didn’t have much on-screen chemistry either. As for Irina and Bradley… I kind of wonder about why these stories are picking up so much at the moment. While Irina and Bradley didn’t go Full Affleck-Garner for his Oscar campaign, they did put on a big show of togetherness during his Oscar campaign, and there really wasn’t a hint of this five months ago. Once the Oscars came and went, did their relationship just fall apart?
