What do you guys think of Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” the first single from her new album of the same name? She released it in March, and while it’s a popular single, it feels like it’s not as big as Ariana’s previous hits. Also, it’s not a great song at all. Half of the lyrics are unintelligible because she refuses to enunciate. Maah-minnniz-ah-pennnn…

Anyway, Ariana covers the latest issue of Billboard to promote the album and more. This is also Ariana’s shot at rebranding herself after a few years where she became known as a diva-baby, a donut-licking, America-bashing a—hole and a total brat. So, what’s the new Ariana like? She’s no drama. She tells you repeatedly that she’s not about the drama. And she has an alter ego named Super Bunny. And she never, ever wants you to refer to her as Big Sean’s Ex. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

Her bunny-eared alter ego, Super Bunny: The Super Bunny “is my superhero, or supervillain — whatever I’m feeling on the day. Whenever I doubt myself or question choices I know in my gut are right — because other people are telling me other things — I’m like, ‘What would that bad bitch Super Bunny do?’ She helps me call the shots.”

Her feminism: “Do you want to see something I saved to my phone because it upset me so much?” she asks me. It’s a collection of tweets from a U.K. radio station with a salacious streak — two praise Justin Bieber and Zayn Malik for showing skin, and two scold Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian for the same. “If you’re going to rave about how sexy a male artist looks with his shirt off and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her boobies for a photo shoot, she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration. I will say it until I’m an old-ass lady with my t-ts out at Whole Foods. I’ll be in the produce aisle, naked at 95, with a sensible ponytail, one strand of hair left on my head and a Chanel bow. Mark my words. See you there with my 95 dogs.”

Being associated with her ex-boyfriends: “I’ll never be able to swallow the fact that people feel the need to attach a successful woman to a man when they say her name… I saw a headline — draw your own conclusions [on the subjects] because it’ll be so much drama that I don’t want — they called someone another someone’s ex, and that pissed me off. This person has had so many great records in the last year, and she hasn’t been dating him forever. Call her by her name! I hate that. Like, I’m fuming. Sorry. You opened up … I need to take a sip of water and breathe. Don’t get me started on this sh-t.” [Note: she was likely referring to Selena and Bieber]

TV fame versus pop stardom: “When you’re playing a zany character on a kids’ show, people don’t want to vilify you as much. They’re a lot harder on pop artists — they’re unafraid to hurt you.”

On the line from Kanye West’s song, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous”:“I’m conflicted. It’s a serious thing to joke about, but at the same time, a lot of artists use humor in their music. I mean, yes, it’s hard to listen to. But I’m obsessed with Kanye’s album. I’m obsessed with Taylor’s album. There are some cringe-worthy topics on his, but it’s part of Kanye. He’s a fantastic artist.”

On the Nicki Minja vs. Taylor Swift drama last year: “If people are fighting, I stay as far away as possible. I’ve said this a million times: I hate drama. I love women in the industry. I’m a big fan of all my peers, and I try to keep it a hundred. That’s why I don’t look at anything. I’m like, ‘My song’s out!’ Then I run for the hills. ‘Here’s another picture of my dogs! Bye!’ ”

[From Billboard]

I’m going to agree with Ariana on something: it bugs me when media outlets refer to women by their romantic situations, past or present. Like, “Harrison Ford’s ex-wife passes away.” JUST SAY HER NAME. Or “Justin Bieber’s ex has a new song.” Just say Selena Gomez! As for the rest of it… does Dangerous Super Bunny really, really hate the drama? No, she doesn’t. She loves the drama. She just hates when the drama involves other people.

Following in mom and dad’s famous footsteps?

In a series of Snapchats, Grammy Award-winner Gwen Stefani and her sweet 2-year-old son Apollo are seen singing in the studio.

While rocking a bandana and ponytail, the talented toddler belted out Old MacDonald Had a Farm.

And while mama rehearsed her hits, Apollo was seen walking around stage rhythmically banging two drum sticks together.

Gwen is currently rehearsing for her upcoming This is What the Truth Feels Like tour, which runs July 12 to October 16.

The No Doubt frontwoman, 46, and her ex-husband, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, 50, are also parents to sons Kingston, nearly 10, and Zuma, 7.

I’m going back and forth about whether I think these Larry David quotes are offensive. Larry David was doing an interview with the Mike Lupica Show this week, and he was asked about the smash Broadway musical Hamilton. Hamilton has been a phenomenon for more than a year, it’s pulled in tens of millions of dollars in ticket sales, and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda has won a Pulitzer and a Peabody, plus the musical picked up no fewer than 16 Tony Award nominations. Basically, everyone thinks Hamilton is THE BEST. Full-stop. But no, says Larry David. Hamilton is popular because white people are just pretending to like it so they can be hip.

“Hamilton” may be making history on Broadway, but Larry David, for one, is curbing his enthusiasm. The comic actor took to the “Mike Lupica Show” podcast, which debuted Tuesday, to express his theory that a lot of the demand comes from white ticket-buyers trying to “solidify their liberal bona fides.”

“Yeah, ‘Hamilton’ — it was pretty amazing,” David told the Daily News columnist. “But I have a feeling there are a lot of white people who are saying they are completely blown away even though they didn’t really understand half of the things the people on stage were saying. They just want to solidify their liberal bona fides and how cool they are: ‘Yea, I love Hamilton. Yea I get it, I’m hip.’”

Lupica made a connection to the kind of voters who mislead political pollsters.

“I think some of them are. No but, the show is amazing,” said David. “No doubt about it, it’s an incredible show, but I do have this theory on a lot of the people that are seeing it.”

[From The NY Daily News]

I was going to make a point about how Larry David would never say “Leonardo DiCaprio’s films are so popular because white people just want to pretend that they’re cool.” But I actually do think that happens. By most accounts, The Revenant was a beautiful snoozefest, and I do think some people said they liked the movie because they wanted to look artsy and cool. So, is that happening with Hamilton? Or is Larry David showing off some racial microaggression about Hamilton, like the only reason it’s so successful is because white people are trying to be cool about something they don’t “get”?

Even though Charlize Theron insisted, just months ago, that her split with Sean Penn last year was the opposite of dramatic, the photos and the body language do not lie. These are photos of Charlize, Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Adele Exarchopoulos at today’s photocall for The Last Face, the film Charlize and Sean did together when they were still a couple, before she ghosted his ass HARD. She can claim that everything was fine, that their split was a mutual thing, but the body language doesn’t lie. They aren’t even looking at each other! They can’t even stand next to each other!!!

As for the film, it’s apparently one of the worst things to ever happen to filmmaking. According to Variety, The Last Face “is being savaged on Twitter after premiering Friday at Cannes” with many calling it the “worst of the festival. Others are also quipping that the picture is so awful it destroy Penn’s relationship with Theron.” Some of the assorted Twitter reviews:

Sam Creighton ?@sam_creighton
The Last Face is definitely the worst film I’ve seen in Cannes. Pompous, pointless… and I think a little bit racist…

Melissa Silverstein ?@melsil
I joined in the booing for my first time today for The Last Face. It was so bad that I laughed at loud at times.

Melissa Silverstein ?@melsil
Sean Penn needs to stop directing. Hated pretty much every second of The Last Face.

Benjamin Lee ?@benfraserlee
The Last Face is Beasts of No Nation rewritten for white people by Nicholas Sparks. No wonder Penn and Theron broke up #Cannes2016

Alex Billington ?@firstshowing
The Last Face – Lots of powerful images, but Sean Penn cannot direct at all. So cheesy, laughably bad, utter trash. Seriously awful awful.

Guy Lodge ?@GuyLodge
Is it possible Charlize Theron saw a rough cut of THE LAST FACE and *then* ended things with Sean Penn? I would.

[Compiled by Variety]

Hahaha. This is funny, because everyone knew that the script was crap too, and that Sean Penn just wanted to direct something “powerful” about “humanitarians” in Africa. I’m glad it’s blowing up in his (ham)face. But poor Charlize. No wonder she looks so glum.

Here are some social media photos of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, also known as The Mountain on Game of Thrones, also known as Frankenclegane, which is what I’ve taken to calling him. He’s an Icelandic strong man and by all accounts, a lovely guy. But did you also know that he’s the proud owner of a tiny little Pomeranian puppy?!

Björnsson’s little dog is named Asterix and she’s only a few months old. Björnsson even made an Instagram page for Asterix and he posts TONS of photos of her on her page and his Instagram too. There’s just something about a huge man with a tiny little dog. The only way this could be better is if Björnsson also had a tiny kitten. Björnsson has taken to calling Asterix his “lion.” Which is just… amazing!! You can see his IG here, and the dog’s IG here.

A few weeks ago, I had to put down my beloved dog and I’m still really raw and sad about it. But I’ve been spending too much time looking at puppies and kittens online, so these photos make me really happy. I’m glad to see Asterix has such a great daddy!

As for Game of Thrones, Jonathan Pryce – the High Sparrow – did an interview with a foreign media outlet, and the translated quotes are causing some pearl-clutching. As in… SPOILERS!! SPOILER: the High Sparrow might be killed this season, and soon? And Frankenclegane might be the one to do it?
