Ryan Phillippe is still dirty hot, I know. Many of us have some lingering Cruel Intentions nostalgia no matter how we try to bury those memories. Ryan’s promoting the first season of Secrets and Lies and evokes his younger self in his latest interview. Dude says people keep carding him in clubs, but don’t be fooled. What he’s really trying to say is this: “I still go to clubs, so I’m cool.” I’m guessing the bartenders card him because — as in many establishments — there’s a laminated policy to card anyone who could be mistaken for under 40.

Does Ryan pass for under 40? Sure, maybe 35. But he doesn’t look 20 as he suggests when claiming people mistake him for his daughter’s brother. He keeps bringing Ava into interviews. Ryan mentioned his depression last month and referenced Ava’s similar sensitivity. That was kind of a douche-dad move. Leave Ava alone. She’s a teenager and has enough growing pains already without Dad mentioning her emotional state to the press. We don’t have any recent shots of Ava & Ryan together that are newer than 2012. That’s okay, the pics aren’t important. The gist of this story is that Ava is 15, and Ryan thinks he can pass for a 20-year-old bro. Some excerpts:

Being a sex symbol at a young age: “Things were really not that hard back then. They were uncomplicated, compared to now. That was sort of the end of my innocence. I made Cruel Intentions when I was 23, and I did I Know What You Did Last Summer when I was 21 or 22, so that was like the end of my youth, because I went straight into marriage and kids.

On his latest role: “As an actor or artist, the richer and more complex our lives become, the performances get that way, too, and Secrets and Lies is as complicated as a drama can get. It’s Shakespeare-heavy. Playing a father whose life is being torn apart — my younger self could not relate to any of those things, but I do, very, very much, at my age now.”

On being 40: “It’s crazy. And still, I get carded constantly. My daughter hates it, because sometimes people have thought I’m her brother, and she’s freaked out by that.”

On the I Know What You Did Last Summer remake: “Oh, come on! No. I think it’s a good idea. I’m excited about it. It just makes me feel old.”

Ryan’s 40 years old now and (perhaps unconsciously) feels the need to humblebrag. I get it. Gwyneth Paltrow has destroyed the humblebragging pleasure for everyone, and Ryan may not be up on Goopster gossip. But he’s still doing the deed. I feel for Ryan because he mentions feeling “old” when the journo brings up a remake to one of his more prominent films. He’ll be fine. He may be dating a 23-year old (Paulina Slagter), but he’s feeling his mortality. It happens.

I’m still mystified by the Italian court system and its seeming lack of “double jeopardy.” They kept trying and retrying Amanda Knox for murder and I guess we’re finally at the end? At the end of one cycle, perhaps. Maybe a month from now, they’ll decide to try Knox for murder one last time. First, Amanda Knox was found guilty of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher. Then the conviction was appealed and thrown out, and Knox was released, and she came home to America. Then the acquittal was thrown out and she was retried – in absentia – for murder all over again. She was found guilty. Again. And so the lawyers took the case to the Italian Supreme Court and the second conviction was overturned on Friday. For the entirety of the second court case, conviction, appeal and acquittal, Knox remained at home in Washington state. After the ruling on Friday, Knox released a statement:

Hours after her murder conviction was overturned by Italy’s Supreme Court, Amanda Knox appeared outside her family’s Seattle home and spoke to the media.

“I just wanted to say that I’m incredibly grateful for what has happened, for the justice I’ve received, for the support that I’ve had from everyone – from my family, from my friends to strangers, people like you,” she said on Friday night, according to KING5. “You’ve saved my life and I’m so grateful. And I’m so grateful to have my life back.”

Knox, 27, and boyfriend Raffaelle Sollecito had been convicted of the 2007 murder of her roommate, British exchange student Meredith Kercher, and served four years in prison in Italy before their convictions were overturned in 2011. But last year a Florence court reinstated their guilty verdicts and sentenced them to 28 years and 25 years, respectively.

When asked what the future holds for her, Knox responded, “I don’t know. I’m still absorbing the present moment, which is full of joy.”

Knox’s mother, Edda Mellas, also spoke to the assembled reporters, saying, “We’re so grateful. I know you’re all here but we really need time as a family to digest. And again – so thankful that everything is finally right.”

Asked if she had some words for Kercher’s family, Knox said, “Meredith was my friend … She deserved so much in this life. I’m the lucky one.”

Is it really over though? God knows. When Amanda was promoting her memoir back in 2013, I watched several of her interviews and I came away… unsettled. It’s not that I know the case from front to back or anything, but before those interviews, I had always assumed that Knox had gotten a raw deal and that the Italian cops did a crappy job investigating the crime and putting together a solid case. But after the interviews… I can see why the cops honed in on Knox so quickly. She seems very cold and unemotional, and it would be very easy to see how her self-contained manner would read as “killer.”

These two are pool pals!

After Justin Bieber, 21, sweated it out at the dance studio, he decided to cool off by hopping in the pool. As you can see, he definitely wasn’t alone when he went for a dip. Among many others, Justin went swimming with Scott and Kourtney Kardashian’s son, Mason Disick. It looks like these two were having an absolute blast. Kourtney Kardashian decided to share a picture of the two in the pool together on her Instagram account.

Justin Bieber is fairly close friends with both Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner, but he’s also been known to hang out with Scott, whom we assume is responsible for the invite. Either way, it looks like everyone, including Mason, was having a great time.

On her 40th birthday, Fergie stepped out with son Axl, 19 months, in Brentwood, Calif. on Friday (March 27). The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman enjoyed a park playdate with her adorable tot.

Fergie’s husband of six years, Josh Duhamel, took to Twitter with a sweet message for the birthday girl.

“Happy birthday to my girl,” he Tweeted. “40 never looked so good!!”

The Battle Creek star, 42, also threw a big birthday bash for his lovely wife that featured an old Hollywood glamor theme, a huge cake and a photo booth to document the special occasion.

Congratulations to Sam Worthington and Lara Bingle.

The Avatar star, 38, and his model wife, 27, welcomed their first child – a boy – in Los Angeles, PEOPLE reports.

No further details — including their son’s name or birth date — have been announced.

The couple’s pregnancy news broke last September.

The Australian actor has signed on to reprise his role as Jake Sully in James Cameron’s Avatar sequels that run through 2018.

January Jones is definitely enjoying the little bit of free time she has with her son, Xander, in Santa Monica, Calif. today, March 27th. The Mad Men actress has been extremely busy promoting the farewell season of the hit show as of late, so free time isn’t in abundance at the moment.

In the pictures, it looks like Xander was having a great time as he was being toted around by his mother. He had a smile on his face and was looking very excitable in his white t-shirt, striped shorts and sneakers. As usual, January was looking great decked out in her semi-black attire; consisting of black jeans, black shoes and black sunglasses.
