Proud daddy-to-be Evan Ross shared an Instagram image of his wife, Ashlee Simpson, and her growing baby bump.

“My beautiful wife @ashleesimpsonross and our baby girl in that belly… Life is better is amazing,” he captioned the photo.

The couple were spotted picking up lunch after their morning workout in Los Angeles, Calif. on Monday (March 23). The expectant mama, 30, donned a tan coat over her black workout gear, paired with shades and a high bun.

The newlyweds have been keeping fit during Ashlee’s pregnancy. Last week, we spotted the pair hitting the Tracy Anderson gym in Studio City.

This will be the first child – a girl – for Ashlee and her newlywed husband, 26, whom she wed on Aug. 30.

She is already mom to 6-year-old son Bronx with ex-husband, Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz.

I’m splitting up the photos from last night’s LA premiere of Mad Men, which they called the Black & Red Ball. Jon Hamm had some extra stuff, so I covered it in another post. This post is just for the other cast members! Unfortunately, my girl Elisabeth Moss wasn’t there. But Christina Hendricks got a lot of attention last night for her over-the-top Zac Posen ball gown. The skirt was massive… and then it wasn’t. She walked the carpet with the massive ball-gown skirt and then she detached part of it and the gown just became a sleek look. I like the gown more with the skirt detached – it’s a cleaner, simpler look. It’s more flattering too.

January Jones seemed almost low-key in this Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2015. I like the idea of this more than I like the execution – the midsection isn’t very flattering, right? And let’s be real: January has an amazing figure. You really have to try to make her figure look bad.

Kiernan Shipka is adorable. She’s growing up to be such a lovely young lady.

John Slattery is everything!

And finally, here’s Vincent Kartheiser, looking better than he has in years!! It helps that he’s months past shaving back his hairline to play Pete Campbell. The beard helps too. But he just looks happy all-over. I think his marriage to Alexis Bledel is really working out.

From the beginning, it’s been clear that Jeremy Renner’s divorce from Sonni Pacheco is going to be ugly as sh*t. Then, for a while, it seemed like maybe it would end up playing out largely behind closed doors, especially as Renner’s only move has been to emphasize his daughter a…

Beautiful Sophie Hunter with Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli prepping her couture dress for her March wedding to Benedict Cumberbatch. #magicmoment #sophiehunter #benedictcumberbatch photographed by #AnnieLeibovitz for @voguemagazine

A photo posted by Valentino (@maisonvalentino) on Mar 26, 2015 at 2:06am PDT

Yay! I was hoping we would get to actually post a photo of Sophie Hunter’s wedding gown! And here we go. Maison Valentino posted this Instagram – taken from Sophie’s wedding gown fitting – several hours ago. This is the same photo that Vogue uses, just FYI. The bride wore silver-grey instead of white, and I really don’t have a problem with that. I also like that she had sleeves, although I could do without the high neck.

There are also some additional details about the gown which I found interesting. I mean, nothing is going to beat the quotes we already had, in which Sophie sounded really pretentious. But I thought you would enjoy this:

The dress, which featured an elegant high neckline, long sleeves and a sweeping train, is described as a “high-waisted medieval gown”.

According to Vogue, Sophie brought her paper mood boards to a meeting with the Valentino designers and during their three-hour brainstorm session, she showed them Anna Karenina-inspired dresses and Gustav Klimt landscapes. The result was the exquisite, pale silver dress, embroidered with motifs of vines and pomegranates.

Although Sophie was in the second trimester of her pregnancy, her growing bump was barely visible. The dress acknowledged her bump, but didn’t emphasise it.

“It seemed to encapsulate everything I’d been speaking about,” the English Rose said. “It feels very much of nature, and it’s so detailed and extraordinary that I’m still trying to get my head around how beautiful it is.”

Sophie was also presented with a matching silk velvet cape, in case of rain on her big day.

While Valentino usually takes at least six months to create a gown, Sophie’s couture dress was completed in just three. Celebrity photographer Annie Leibowitz was then flown out to Rome to shoot the fitting.

[From Hello]

I can’t believe Annie Leibowitz had to fly to Rome just to photograph Sophie’s fitting. Of course, Annie also had to fly to Amal Alamuddin’s dress fitting with Oscar de la Renta last year too. Why does Annie keep getting these assignments? Poor Annie. As for Sophie and her gown… now I want to see the silk velvet cape. And I never want any dress I wear to be described as “medieval.”

Here are some photos of Jon Hamm at last night’s LA premiere event/party for Mad Men’s final season. Hamm did the white tuxedo jacket thing and it looks like he went solo to the event, although he posed with many of his costars and Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner. Hamm looks good, doesn’t he? As we heard yesterday, Jon Hamm recently completed a 30-day rehab program. I think not drinking agrees with him.

But I have to note that at last night’s LA event and at the NYC event earlier this week, Jon’s partner Jennifer Westfeldt was nowhere to be seen. Is she simply “over” going to Hamm’s events? Or is something else happening? People Magazine had an “inside Jon Hamm’s recovery” story last night, which had some interesting details about his relationship with Westfeldt.

Over the past eight years, Jon Hamm has gained legions of fans for his portrayal of anti-hero Don Draper on Mad Men. Last month, the star sought treatment for alcohol addiction, and a source tells PEOPLE Hamm, 44, has more in common with his character than people may think. According to a source, the actor – whose mother died when he was 10 years old – is a complicated person. “He lost his mother at a really young age and grew up without that type of figure in his life,” says the source.

In 2010, he opened up about his struggle with depression after the death of his father at the age of 20 (his parents divorced when he was just a toddler). “I was … unmoored by that,” he told The Observer about his father’s death. Left “in bad shape,” Hamm turned to therapy and antidepressants to beat the illness.

The constant presence of longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt, 45, has also helped “keep him in line,” says the source.

“He needs [Jennifer],” says the source of the stability that the actress brings. “He has to have that in his life.”

Known in Hollywood as the “kind of guy who always remembers your name and makes small talk with the assistants,” according to the source, Hamm opened up to PEOPLE last year about dealing with fame.

“It’s nice that people tell you ‘I like what you do,’ ” he said of his fans, many of whom offer him drinks because of his character on the show. “All that part of it is adorable, but at a certain point, I can’t drink that much scotch! You have to manage your life in the only way you know how in a respectful and proper way.”

[From People]

I’ve heard people theorize about his “need” for Westfeldt before, like it’s a psychological thing because he lost his mother at such a young age, and he loves having the stability of long-term girlfriend who takes care of him. But don’t a lot of 12-step programs believe that it’s very difficult to stay in recovery AND stay in the same relationship you were in while you were abusing substances? These are just idle questions, I have no idea what’s going on with Jon and Jennifer. I would suspect that she’s fully supportive of his journey and she will do anything to keep him healthy.

Oh, and Hamm made a statement on the red carpet last night. He told one outlet: “Life throws a lot at you sometimes, and you have to deal with it as much as you can. I’ve been very fortunate that throughout the most recent 24-hour period, I’ve had a lot of family and friends support me. Obviously there can be a lot of discussion about how much of this is related to that, and honestly I don’t have much to say about that either. I’ve said in varying ways that acting can be a difficult endeavor, certainly not as difficult as the recent example I used of being a baby heart surgeon. But it does present its own challenges, and so does life.”

Duchess Kate is all about kids these days. Or should I say that Kate’s PR guy has told her that she needs to be all about kids these days? Something like that. I actually believe that Kate does care (to a degree) and that she’s probably in her comfort zone when she can spend time with families and children and she doesn’t have to pretend to be super-knowledgeable about any one subject. So, Kate has made a public statement today to The Times. She’s encouraging a renewed focus on childhood mental health:

The Duchess of Cambridge is urging parents, teachers and health professionals to give child mental health the attention and focus it deserves.

“I have been heartened to see that so much progress has been made in ending the taboo of adults openly treating mental well-being as the health issue it is,” she said in a message to The Times. “I believe that our generation of parents, carers, teachers, and health workers now have the chance to give the mental health of our children the focus it requires.”

“I feel strongly that young people and parents need to know that they can ask for help. Just as with physical health, we need to act early to provide support when a child is faced with emotional difficulties,” she said.

She suggested in her message that she would be devoting more time and effort to the cause of child mental health when she returns to her public duties later in the year. “This is a discussion that William and I hope to play a part in during the months and years to come. We welcome all work to highlight this important issue for the benefit of all our young people,” she said.

The duchess has told colleagues that she has been struck that the need for early intervention comes up repeatedly when she visits projects and charities, including those for the homeless and drug addicts. However, she believes that her energies will have most impact in the area of early intervention in child mental health. She is patron of the charity Place2Be, one of the first roles she took up after her marriage. The charity provides counselling and psychological help for children in 235 schools to help them cope with issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

[From The Times]

I think this is a great discussion to have, and it’s a great cause for Kate in particular. It’s about kids, it’s about families, it’s a “big issue” but it’s not really controversial and she has a personal history that dovetails with this cause. She’s said in the past that she was bullied by classmates when she was a girl. And childhood bullying is getting a lot of press these days, but I like that Kate is making it about the larger issue of childhood mental health.

Meanwhile, if you want to check out the latest odds-on favorites for Kate’s baby name choices, go here. Apparently, there are a lot of people in Britain who think Kate is totally expecting a girl, and that she’ll name the baby girl Elizabeth, Charlotte, Alexandra or James (OMG, Blake Lively’s baby name!). If it’s a boy, the favorite is now… Albert. God, I hope not.

Dear Gossips,

Crucio, now!

Two things blew up my life yesterday. The first:

ZAYYYYYNNNNN!!!

Maybe you don’t understand the drama, but there were a lot of parents trying to coax their teenagers out of the bathroom last night, OK? This is real pain.

And then…

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Julia Louis-Dreyfus covers the spring issue of New Beauty magazine to promote the fourth season of Veep, which starts in April. I’m struggling to realize that she’s 54 years old (just like Antonio Banderas). Julia looks fresh, but she doesn’t look like she’s been “refreshed.” If she’s using Botox, her doctor knows how to use it sparingly. There’s probably a sweet combination of good genes and healthy habits at work too. Julia looks fantastic. In this interview, she discusses how to cope with her 17-hour workdays during filming, which make staying on track difficult:

On makeup: “As I’ve gotten older, I realize that less really is more–especially when it comes to makeup. I’ve found that a huge mistake you can easily make that ages you instantly is putting on too heavy foundation. All it does is define the lines you have. One thing I absolutely hate doing is taking my makeup off. I’m not someone who can fall asleep with my makeup on, that’s disgusting to me, so I have to take it off. But I really hate it!”

On aging before an audience: “You’ve seen me age! I’ve been in showbiz for so long. From the first time people saw me on Saturday Night Live until now … it’s no secret that I’ve gotten older. I’ve gotten older in front of you and that is odd – it is still so strange to me that everyone has seen me age on a public stage. It’s totally changing and difficult.”

Making healthy choices: “It can get really hard on-set and the biggest challenge is getting enough sleep. And, when I don’t have enough sleep, my metabolism goes crazy and my decision-making when it comes to good food choices is not the best–it’s very easy for me to go off the wagon as the hours of the day get longer. I am lucky that we have a really great craft services that does give us healthy choices and high-protein options, which helps me not make the bad food mistakes. I try to have some healthy choices on hand. I like Kind Bars and I recently found Santa Barbara Bars. I also always have almonds with me.”

On fitness: “Besides hiking, I like spin classes and I like doing cardio. But I have to admit, I am not so great on a bike. But I do try to do cardio–or anything aerobic–one day a week if I can because I think it’s so important and anyone feels better after they do it. I’m admittedly a lot better in smaller classes and groups though; when there are gobs of people, I start to get self-conscious.”

[From New Beauty]

Julia gives some good tips here, and I think she’s correct about how a little foundation goes a long way. There are also some types of foundation that don’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles as much. Not that I would know, seeing as makeup is not my specialty. Lip stains and mascara are my jam.

Her recommendation about Kind bars is a good one. They’re a little pricey but can be found on sale (usually in bulk form). All of their sea-salt flavors are so good. Do you buy Julia’s claim to only do cardio once per week? Maybe she’s talking about structured cardio, and she hikes a lot too. Whatever Julia’s doing, it’s working for her.
