When we checked in on Benedict Cumberbatch over the summer, he had shaved back his hairline to play a real-life bald dude named Dominic Cummings in a TV movie. The look was very “baby bird” and “the opposite of sexy,” although CB would remind me that there’s nothing inherently unsexy about bald dudes in general. My disgust with Benedict’s bald look was very Bendy-specific, because so much of his alien-otter sexiness has been wrapped up in his Sherlock curls flying free.

Well, Benedict wrapped on that bald movie a few months ago, and he’s steadily grown back his hair. But now he’s added something terrible: a gross little mustache. This too is for a role, as best as anyone can tell. And it’s awful. Few men are so dependent on their hair and facial hair for their sexiness/beauty. Five years ago, women around the world were throwing their panties at a clean-shaven Benedict with lustrous Cumbercurls. And now, with the gross little mustache, I doubt Sophie Hunter even wants to touch him. Sophie’s probably like “yeah, maybe some other time?”

We’ll be seeing more of Bendy in the weeks and months to come because he’s the voice of The Grinch in the latest animated Grinch movie. He’ll be on promotional duty for a while for that. And let’s hope he shaves the ‘stache? Because dear God.

I continue to believe that the Duchess of Sussex needs to fire Jessica Mulroney as her part-time stylist and hire someone London-based full time. I know Jessica is one of Meghan’s closest friends, and I know that Jessica has been very trustworthy during the whole royal romance, engagement and marriage. I get that Jessica is a professional stylist too. But enough. Meghan needs someone full-time, at her disposal, and she needs to have someone with better professional credentials at many of the design houses. While I’ve liked some of what Meghan wore during the Pacific tour, a lot of the clothes weren’t really all that great.

Here’s another reason for why Meghan needs to fire Jessica: Jessica is being a bit tacky. Jessica is now profiting off her connection to Meghan by taking a job as a “fashion contributor” for Good Morning America. Ugh.

More evidence of the Meghan Markle effect? Markle’s best friend Jessica Mulroney has joined Good Morning America as a fashion contributor. The bridal stylist announced the news on Instagram on Monday, writing, “I couldn’t be happier. Dream job!!! Hard work does pay off sometimes.” She added, “Cheers to the whole GMA team for making this little Canadian gal feel so welcome.”

Mulroney, a longtime friend of the Duchess of Sussex, is married to Ben Mulroney, the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. In her first segment, Mulroney demonstrated how to create a six-piece capsule wardrobe — “the pieces you will wear over and over again.”

“We are fed so much information when it comes to fashion,” Mulroney told Robin Roberts on-air. “How do we figure out those key pieces that we need in our closet? So that’s what a capsule collection is. It’s finding those six pieces that you can mix and match, that you can do day to night.”

Her next Good Morning America segment will be Monday, Nov. 5. The stylist is also a correspondent at Canadian talkshow CityLine and founder of the charity The Shoebox Project.

It strikes me that perhaps Meghan and Jessica worked this out ahead of time – Jessica knew that she couldn’t be Meghan’s stylist anymore, and Meghan knew that she would soon have to hire someone full time, but she still wanted to make sure that Jessica got a bigger profile. So they agreed to this, mutually. Jessica gets the gig because of her “royal connection” and a month from now, there will be a quiet announcement that Meghan is no longer using Jessica as a stylist. At least, that’s what I hope. Because if Meghan continues to use Jessica as a stylist after this, that’s pretty tacky too.

Tiffany Haddish is starring in Tyler Perry’s new comedy, Nobody’s Fool, which is out this week. It also stars Tika Sumpter, Whoopi Goldberg and Amber Riley. Tiffany plays a woman who just got out of prison who has to help her sister find the guy who is catfishing her. It’s a stupid premise but the trailer makes it look funny. US asked Tiffany at the premiere about the worst date she’d ever had. She said that the guy smelled so bad that she ditched him at the movies by saying she was going to the bathroom and then never came back. Also she prefers guys without kids. She’s 38, how does she even meet guys without kids? Is she only dating younger guys? Here’s what she said:

Tiffany Haddish [told US about] the worst date she’s ever been on.

“He smelled really bad, like ass,” Haddish, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly at the premiere of Nobody’s Fool in New York City on Sunday, October 28. “He stank.”

“Oh, you know, I said he stank! He was looking at me like I was crazy for telling him that he stink,” she told Us. “And then we [went] to the movies, right, and we was in the theater and I told him I’d be right back, I gotta use the restroom, and I never came back.”

Earlier this month, Haddish told Us that she sets high standards for her love interests. “My taste in guys is ones that don’t have kids already and also a credit score higher than mine,” she explained at the Variety Power of Women event. “That shows there’s responsibility.”

I like the high credit score criteria. That’s something I remember Anthony Mackie saying he used for qualifying potential dates. He would just ask them their credit score. As for her ditching a date by lying and saying she was going to the bathroom, have you ever done this? I haven’t, but I had a similar bad date years ago with a guy who had awful breath and picked his teeth. He would have been attractive with decent hygiene and a different personality. I guess he would never have been attractive but I saw the potential in him. Luckily I wasn’t stupid enough to go on a second date. I did waste two hours of my time, which Tiffany was able to avoid. She would have had to sit right next to him at the movies too, she dodged a bullet.

Royalist and royal-correspondent Robert Jobson has written a book about Prince Charles called Charles At Seventy: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams. Sometimes I’ll remember Charles’ age all of a sudden and think “damn, it’s strange that he’ll probably be in his 80s by the time he becomes king.” That being said, I think Charles has largely made his peace with that, and he’s tried to become the most consequential Prince of Wales in history. I would argue that he’s achieved that. Anyway, The Daily Mail has some lengthy excerpts from the book, which you can read here. These are my favorite parts, mostly about Charles’ relationship with Harry and William.

William & Harry have often been angsty & tantrumy with Charles: Occasionally, the level of belligerence Charles has encountered from his sons has shocked the Prince, as both boys have, on occasion, challenged him. William has even been known to speak firmly in his father’s face. It is reminiscent of his mother’s hot temper. Insiders say that Harry and William have by no means always shown proper respect to the Prince of Wales and his office. To this day, Charles admits he often finds it difficult to gauge either of his sons’ occasionally unpredictable moods. ‘In that aspect of their nature, both princes are very much like their mother,’ one close source confirmed.

William is very competitive with his father & brother: William may be Charles’s heir, but he’s extremely competitive with members of his family when it comes to media coverage — although he gives the impression it doesn’t concern him. In reality, it does. Take Meghan and Harry’s appearance in Cardiff on a royal engagement in January. It was a time of peak interest in the couple. Intriguingly, William — who was also on a royal engagement — chose the same day to display a new and dramatic buzz cut hairstyle. As a result, Harry was not the only royal prince featured in the following day’s papers. As far as William is concerned, Harry is aware that his brother is Number One in the royal pecking order.

Everyone walks on eggshells around William: Many members of staff, even operators on the Palace switchboard, are aware that William can be ‘difficult’ or ‘a little grand’. Indeed, even Charles is said to be wary of his mood swings.

Harry is more of his mother’s son: Harry, while also prone to volatility, is a much warmer man than William — and is far more given to emotional outbursts. Like his mother, he tends to wear his heart on his sleeve. During the build-up to his marriage to Meghan — and indeed beyond — insiders noticed a change in his relationship with his father: he’d begun to show him much more respect than he had previously. After all, Charles had not only bankrolled the wedding but done everything he could to ensure that it went smoothly.

Harry was a mess leading up to his wedding: In the build-up to the wedding, says an inside source, he was ‘petulant and short-tempered’ with members of staff. Raising his voice on occasion, Harry would insist: ‘What Meghan wants, she gets.’

Meghan is a huge fan of Charles: It IS Meghan’s own relationship with Charles that is proving to be key to newfound warmth between him and his second son. ‘When Meghan met the Prince of Wales, she was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm,’ said an inside source. ‘She told Prince Harry he was wonderful; welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.’ She consulted him about the music for the wedding, while Charles has taken time to discuss with her the intricacies of life in the ‘Firm’.

I think it’s probably true that Harry and William both have a Diana-like side, her mercurial moodiness, her emotional nature. As Harry has gotten older, we see it more – he has his mother’s charisma and her emotional messiness. William, on the other hand, is more of a blend of his parents, but very much his own beast. If anything, William has gotten less relaxed, more neurotic and pettier, I think. Jobson makes a very interesting point though: Charles did something different with Harry and William, which is that he bankrolled their separate office in Kensington Palace so they’d never have to be part of his “royal court.” Is Charles going to bankroll Harry and William’s two separate offices now too?

The Kardashian-Jenner family dynamics are often fraught and complicated. Kim Kardashian is clearly Kris Jenner’s favorite daughter, but Kris also has a soft spot in her heart for Rob and Khloe. I think Kris and Kourtney sort of hate each other at this point, and I think Kendall Jenner is rather wary of her “momager” too. But what about Kylie? I always thought that Kylie seemed so screwed up because Kris basically stopped raising her kids by the time Kylie came around. Then again, Kylie’s whole billion-dollar lip kit business exists basically because Kris had the foresight to put the whole thing together when Kylie was just a teenager.

Perhaps Kylie and Kris have gotten closer over the past few years. And so Kylie is trying to become her mom’s favorite! Kris’s 63rd birthday comes up on November 5th (next Monday), and Kylie decided to give Kris a special early birthday present: Kris’s dream car, a 488 Gran Turismo Berlinetta red Ferrari, which retails for $250K. Sofia Vergara’s ex-fiance Nick Loeb has been trying to re-enter her life for years now. He’s waged an really disturbing legal campaign to get “custody” of the fertilized eggs they created when they were together, and every time his lawsuit gets thrown out, he shops around for a new venue. His journey to exert control over Sofia also led him to “direct” a film about Roe v. Wade, a film which sounds like an utter ahistorical nightmare. What is Nick Loeb’s endgame? I have no idea. But Sofia thinks Nick’s endgame is simply to destroy her marriage to Joe Manganiello:

Sofia Vergara’s ex is trying to destroy her marriage to Joe Manganiello … so say sources close to the actress. Sofia’s been locked in a long legal battle with her ex-fiance, Nick Loeb, over two frozen embryos the couple produced… Our Sofia sources say the driving force behind the fight has nothing to do with bringing another life into the world … it’s pure and simple revenge. The sources claim Nick remains angry Sofia dumped him and they believe his end goal is to ruin her marriage.

The sources point to the fact that Loeb had a daughter with another woman last October, so his desire to become a father has already been fulfilled, yet he continues to fight over the embryos. And, speaking of the fight … Nick has moved his lawsuit against Sofia to Louisiana — a heavily pro-life state that recognizes embryos as human beings.

In order to sue in Louisiana, Nick needs to be a resident of the state. We’ve learned the longtime California resident now claims he lives in Plaquemines Parish, LA, where he’s even established a trust fund for the embryos, whom he named Emma and Isabella. Our Sofia sources say Nick never stays at the home, and is only using the address as a front. Nick’s attorneys, Pierre Miller and Jasha McQueen, confirm Nick is renting a place in the area and is registered to vote in LA, but would not get specific when asked how often he stays at the property. McQueen also says Nick has a Louisiana driver’s license, and they’re confident a judge will see he’s taken the appropriate steps to establish residency and win his case.

For what it’s worth, I think Nick Loeb has many different goals with this. For one, he absolutely is trying to destroy Sofia’s marriage. He’s also just a crazy stalker type who wants to “punish” her for leaving him. And the icing on the stalker cake is that he’s also a right-wing Republican who believes he should be able to control every woman’s reproductive choices. It’s a confluence of bulls–t, basically. Also: I’ve always thought that Joe and Sofia are perfect for each other, so I hope their marriage is solid. He married his dream girl and she married a guy who is happy to be the low-key one and let her be the “star.”

Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma have welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Banks Violet Blair. It seems like Hilary has been pregnant for a while, but that’s just because she announced her pregnancy in June and has been photographed throughout it. She didn’t even tell the press earlier than usual. To Hilary and Matthew’s credit, they shared photos and video of Banks on their timelines and in their Instagram stories. She was born last Thursday, October 25th, and they waited before making the announcement and posting her photos. She’s adorable.

This is Hilary’s second child, she also has son Luka, six, with her ex-husband Mike Comrie, and Matthew’s first. In honor of his new daughter, Matthew dyed his hair pink, as one does. I want to drag him for this but it’s sort of sweet I guess. Banks was born on Thursday and he did pose for the photo above before he dyed his hair. Newborns sleep a lot and there’s a lot of down time. Here are some of the many photos and videos Matthew and Hilary posted of this process. I’m sparing you several of them. Matthew, 31, is a musician (although I use that word lightly after listening to one of his songs). Points for his Cure t-shirt.

As for the name Banks, it sounds like a stage name, right? It’s unique and non-stigmatizing for a celebrity baby though. According to BabyCenter Banks is more popular as a boy’s name and is ranked 1,568 for boys this year. For girls it’s lower on the list at 4,419, but is rising in usage. The name will only become more popular now. The baby’s two middle names are Violet, which is common, and Bair, which I’ve never seen spelled like that. (Alicia Silverstone has a seven-year-old son named Bear.) Congratulations to Hilary and Matthew! I imagine we’ll soon see pictures of them out walking the baby in a stroller.
