Teresa Giudice is in the news, which I assume makes her very happy. It’s not exactly the story I would want to get me headlines but I don’t think like a reality star so what do I know. Teresa took their four daughters – Gia, 17, Gabriella, 14, Milania, 13, and Audriana, nine, down to the Bahamas for a little fun in the sun while Dad Joe is still serving his prison sentence for fraud. As part of what must be a kick-back agreement, Teresa has been posting tons of beautiful sun-kissed photos from the Atlantis Resort. Tuesday, she posted this particular picture of her three younger daughters enjoying dinner, I assume, at Nobu in the resort:

Sister Love ? #bahamas #family #laughing

A post shared by Teresa Giudice ® (@teresagiudice) on Aug 27, 2018 at 12:31pm PDT

It did not take long for ‘concerned’ moms to light up her comment section with their opinions about the fact that Audriana’s nine-year-old face was fully made up and that Gia was exposing her bra in an open shirt.

“Sister love,” the Real Housewives of New Jersey star captioned a photo of Audriana, Gia, and Milania on Instagram, unknowingly opening her page up to a controversial debate — from comments on Audriana’s makeup to remarks about Gia’s bra-baring top.

“Are you f***ing kidding me with the makeup and clothes these little girls have on!!” one enraged commenter wrote. “Where is the parental control here!!” While another said, “Beautiful girls, but no need for makeup or an unbuttoned shirt. That’s not age-appropriate.”

Some also accused Giudice of using filters on the kids’ faces. However, many came to the mom’s defense by pointing out how well she’s parenting, despite having to raise her children alone while her husband, Joe, is still serving a prison sentence for conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud.

“Your girls are all so beautiful. Despite it all you are doing an amazing job,” someone wrote. “Any adult with sense knows not to say negative comments about children,” said another.

[From Yahoo]

I don’t really have a problem with a mom who lets her daughter wear a full face of make-up. My daughter is 11 and sometimes she asks to wear a little eyeshadow and lipstick. I’ve let her walk out of the house like that (not to school). So Audriana going out to dinner on vacation with makeup on doesn’t register with me, other than she does a much better job than I do. Gia’s top, however, I’m having a harder time with. I would not allow my 14-year-old daughter or son to wear a shirt open like that anywhere. To be fair, my children would take exception with me wearing a shirt like that as well. But Gia is not my kid, so I am trying to keep an open mind. Like, if that was a bikini top, would I have a problem with it? I mean, I’d object to it as a poor fashion choice, but I don’t know that I would give Teresa grief over it (again, I would not let my children weara bikini top to a restaurant either). But Audrian’sa dress is fitted in the bust and Milania’s top is strapless, so shouldn’t they all be called out sartorially or none at all?

However, my knee-jerk reaction is always to defend someone against mom-shaming comments. I allow my daughter to dye her hair. I know a lot of mom’s who wouldn’t and I’m not too interested in their opinion on it. Does she dye her hair to feel older? Probably. But I figured if I let her do that, maybe she wouldn’t be in such a hurry to rush the rest. I thought about it, I discussed it with her dad and her hair stylist. We all made the decision. That doesn’t stop folks from telling me how I’ve messed up as a mother, though.

It seems like the girls have had a rough couple of years with their parents both serving jail-time. I’m not looking to hand Teresa a Mother-of-the-Year trophy, but I assume she’s doing the best she can. Plus, she’s got those girls all over her Instagram in bikinis but doesn’t get slammed for that. Well, she does, but it’s for their tans, not the amount of skin they show. As I said, I’m struggling with my feelings of someone else making this choice for their kid, so I will simply reiterate, that top is not a choice I’d make for my kids.

Well, well. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a gala event last night – a charity performance of Hamilton, the Tony Award-winning musical. The performance benefited Sentebale, Harry’s Lesotho charity. Meghan actually saw Hamilton on Broadway, and I totally hope she was leaning in to Harry and whispering, “You’re going to love this song” before “Right Hand Man” and “Satisfied.” I’ve always wondered what the British theater-goers’ reactions would be to a story of America’s birth and one of our most beloved forefathers, and I guess I’m still waiting. I bet Harry enjoyed it. Oh, and Lin-Manuel Miranda was there! He was introduced to Harry and Meg!

For this event, Meghan went with a sexy look, all-business up top and then a party below the waist. This tuxedo dress is by the Canadian label Judith and Charles, which retails for $595, which is pretty affordable for a classic tuxedo dress if you’re a duchess. I like it… but I don’t think it’s the absolute best thing she’s ever worn. Still, I do really like it. I prefer her with a longer hemline, not because of the patriarchy and “policing women’s bodies through fashion” or whatever, I just think knee-length or tea-length hemlines suit her figure the best. Still, she has legs for days and if she’s going to wear something a bit shorter, I’m glad she did it this way, with a smart, sharp tuxedo dress.

… And yes, there are buttons on her dress. But are those buttons comically oversized AND shiny AND misplaced? No. Are there approximately fifty buttons on her dress? No. So Meghan loses this week’s Keen Button Challenge.

Also, this!!!

FOX Fall Premiere Party

It began in April of this year, as Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans were finishing up their latest season of Fox’s Lethal Weapon. It started with rumors of Clayne’s toxic behavior, his verbal abuse of below-the-line staffers and coworkers. Clayne offered up an apology which did nothing but convince me that he really is a total douchebag. Soon he was fired, and replaced with Seann William Scott. That didn’t stop the stories from leaking out – Damon Wayans detailed on social media how aggressively toxic Clayne was on and off the set, and someone on the show leaked audio of Clayne acting like a total douche to Wayans and other coworkers.

Before that story broke in April, I wouldn’t have been able to pick Clayne Crawford out of a line-up. It was the first time I had even heard his name. He does have fans, but let’s be real: it’s not like he’s some massive A-lister. I would struggle to even call him a B-lister. He was a dude on a successful television action-drama, which makes him C-list in the grand scheme of things. But the unearned entitlement, the toxic white privilege and the white mediocrity was oozing off of him like he had ten Oscars on his shelf. And before anyone is like “what does race have to do with it” – he verbally harassed and abused his African-American costar, a 57-year-old man who has been working in the industry for 30 years. And show me where a young actor of color would have been given the unchecked privilege to behave the way Clayne has behaved, and is still behaving. Clayne sat down for the Drinkin’ Bros podcast, and he told “his side” of the story. Some highlights:

The claim that he was yelling at children next to a pool during filming: He says it was a “blatant f—king lie.” He stated that they were taking eight hours to film a three-page scene and everyone was getting frustrated. He said he was yelling at the AD whose job it was to keep things quiet on set because he felt the entire thing felt “creatively disrespectful…I snapped. Should I have gone to my trailer? 100 percent. Should I have just gone and waited? That’s what I was instructed to do when there was a problem — you go sit in your trailer and you lock your door and you take a nap. Hollywood is very sensitive, so I should not have screamed and yelled, right, because it’s a bunch of very delicate flowers out there.”

The tapes of him losing his sh-t on everyone: “I knew that they were going to release these tapes because they’d been blackmailing me with them for months and months and months, the entire second season… And I have all the text messages from these people and voicemails from these people saying, ‘Obviously you’re not the problem, but you’ve got to get ahead of this because you know they’re going to use those tapes against you.’”

He spoke to Warner Bros. Television boss Peter Roth about his fights with Damon Wayans: “He said, ‘Clayne, I can’t promise you that I can save your job, but what I can tell you is that you have to make a public announcement apologizing, publicly, to Damon Wayans.’ I was like, ‘What the f—k, Peter, why would I apologize publicly because he and I had a riff on set?’ And he’s like, ‘Clayne, that statement alone tells me you don’t want to come back.’” He added that the entire tapes weren’t played, and on them, he told Wayans that he could have been replaced by Kenan Thompson or Steve Harvey.

He didn’t think he would be fired & replaced: “It’s a little different when you replace Becky or the mom off of Fresh Prince. Like, if they’d replaced the Fresh Prince, we’d have been like, ‘What the f—k are we watching anyway?’ That’s why I just didn’t think it was possible,” he said. He claims the network never called him to tell him he was let go. He learned the news on Twitter.

[From Us Weekly]

“Hollywood is very sensitive, so I should not have screamed and yelled, right, because it’s a bunch of very delicate flowers out there.” Yes, how dare those very delicate flowers would prefer…*checks notes*… to work in an environment which doesn’t include some douchebag with a Napoleon complex screaming at them 24-7? How dare those sensitive souls just want to earn their paychecks by doing their jobs without being harassed by a toxic bro? Basically, Clayne Crawford thought he was the Jesus of Lethal Weapon and he could do whatever he wanted because they would never replace The Star. And Warner Bros was like “we’ll replace you with Seann William Scott and no one will even notice, you arrogant little sh-t.”

75th International Venice Film Festival - 'First Man' - Premiere

You don’t even know how happy I am that the Venice Film Festival has finally started. I feel like it started later this year? Which makes sense, because Venice is now trying to compete with Toronto as a major stop for Oscar hopefuls, so of course they want to get the same people as Toronto too. Venice opened this year with Damien Chazelle’s First Man, starring Claire Foy and Ryan Gosling, both of whom were obviously in Venice. Claire wore this Valentino gown to the First Man premiere. I like it? It’s very vintage-looking and it would have looked too “sweet” with the wrong hair, but Claire’s severe, slicked-back hairstyle works well here.

Here’s Ryan Gosling wearing a very Gosling tie-free tuxedo. I like this? He looks sharp.

75th International Venice Film Festival - 'First Man' - Premiere

Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani Privé. A lot of pink on this red carpet. This shade of pink is pretty with Naomi’s fair coloring and the actual dress is sort of cool. It could have looked really twee, but she pulls it off.

75th International Venice Film Festival - 'First Man' - Premiere

Sara Sampaio in Giorgio Armani Privé. Doesn’t this feel wintery? I think it’s because the gown reminds me of pretty Christmas wrapping paper, especially with the comically oversized bow.

75th International Venice Film Festival - 'First Man' - Premiere

Barbara Palvin in Giorgio Armani Privé. This does not look like Armani to me, but sure. It’s a cute minidress, and I like that she didn’t wear some full-on gown. She looks so young, so this has a very fresh, girlish vibe on her.

75th International Venice Film Festival - 'First Man' - Premiere

Bonus Claire Foy at the earlier photocall, wearing Chanel. I dislike this on her, but I just don’t like the dress in general.

UK Premiere of the Wife

Can you believe Glenn Close has not won an Academy Award? She has been nominated six times, but has yet to being an Oscar home. This slight might be rectified this year, as her role in the indie film The Wife is already generating Oscar buzz. In the film, she plays a woman whose husband, played by Jonathan Pryce, wins the Nobel Prize for literature. When she travels with to Stockholm for the ceremony, she looks back on the life choices and sacrifices she’s made over the course of their 40-year marriage to help him succeed. Fun fact: Glenn’s daughter, Annie Starke, plays the young version of her character.

In an interview with ABC’s Peter Travers, she said that she used some elements from her parent’s marriage to flavor her performance, noting that

“The mother that I observed my whole life who basically deferred to my father for everything and was diminished. He made her feel diminished. And she was not always happy. And we actually thought she’d be happier outside of the marriage. And she was married in 1945 and she said, ‘I made this vow and this is where I’m going to be.’ But she was not a fulfilled human being, it was sad.”

The 71-year-old actress sat down with People‘s Jess Cagle and discussed her ascent to stardom, as well as some of her previous roles in The World According to Garp, The Big Chill and Fatal Attraction. Glenn previously fought for the original ending of that film, where Michael Douglas’ character is framed for the murder of Glenn’s Alex, who slits her throat with a knife bearing his fingerprints. In a Vanity Fair article published last March, it was revealed that Glenn “felt sympathy for Alex, a woman battling mental illness, and fiercely resisted cliches about another female psycho.”

Among the other fascinating revelations in the People interview, Glenn shared that she’s saved costumes from all of her movies, from Garp to the one she wore in The Big Chill, “when my little butt was twitching in the kitchen” – but she didn’t own the gown from Dangerous Liaisons that Madonna later wore for her performance of “Vogue” on the MTV Video Music Awards in 1990. Glenn also talked about her time in the conservative religious group (= cult) called the Moral Re-Armament that we’ve covered before. The whole interview is pretty awesome (and her dog, Pip, is adorable), but here are some highlights:

Do you wish that the original ending to Fatal Attraction had stayed?
The audience wanted to believe that that family might be able to survive. So they got their catharsis by shedding my [character’s] blood.

I don’t think that it would have been the huge hit that it was. I think it would be wonderful to write that kind of story from her point of view.

On her screen costume collection
They’re all at Indiana University. All 700 plus of every full costume from head to toe.

I kept my costumes [because] they’re a process in the fitting room of putting a character together. With a great costume designer they are as important to me as a director. With the hours that you spend, I didn’t want to have it hanging in some warehouse and pulled apart.

On what her film The Wife says about relationships
This is generally speaking, but I think a man might find it harder to have a highly successful wife than vice versa. A lot of times [women] will negate themselves or not let themselves fully shine because they want their mate to feel better about themselves. I think that happens a lot.

On how she feels about The Oscars (she’s been nominated six times)
How thrilling it would be [to be nominated again]. It’s kind of great to never win in a way I guess. I’m a pragmatic Yankee and I force myself to not believe in anything until it actually happens.

[From People TV/The Jess Cagle Interview]

Glenn seems like such a delight, and he co-stars would agree. Jonathan Pryce recently told the AV Club that working with Glenn on The Wife was “really great,” noting their long careers in film and theater, adding, “There was a lot of mutual respect and trust between us, and it enabled us to be quite organic in the choices that we made on set about the characters. It was a delight. I loved it.”

I love Glenn Close and think she’s an amazing actress. From the trailer alone, I have a feeling that Glenn may no longer be the Susan Lucci of the Oscars in 2019.

The headline of this story should really be “Mel B tries to explain why she’s going to rehab as she’s constantly interrupted by Lea Michele.” But, I digress. Over the weekend, America’s Got Talent‘s Mel B announced that she was suffering from PTSD and was planing on checking into a British rehab facility for a while to sort out issues that arose from the loss of her father to cancer and her horrendous marriage and nasty divorce.

The 43-year-old singer, when able to actually get a word out, spoke with a fan-girling Lea Michele, who was filling in for Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday. She said that story in The Sun that alleged she was a sex and alcohol addict was untrue. She told Lea that the story “kind of got a little bit skewed with. Let’s put it that way.”

Mel went on to say that she has been seeing a therapist for around nine years, seeking help after her father was diagnosed with cancer. In advance of the release of her autobiography, Brutally Honest, she said “My therapy changed a little bit because I was in a very intense relationship, which you can all read about in my book. I do address a lot of those issues. But no, I’m not an alcoholic; no, I’m not a sex addict.”

She alluded to her tumultuous relationship with Stephen Belafonte, saying, “You know, I was with the same person for 10 years, and that was quite a turmoil, very intense. That’s all I can say about it. I’d like to say a lot more, but on this show, let’s keep it PC. But…I did kind of have to ease my pain. I suffer a lot from PTSD.” I’d say there’s more insight in the clip, but it’s mostly Lea trying to inject herself into things as much as possible. Anyway, here’s the segment:

After Mel’s revelation, her fellow America’s Got Talent judges voiced their support for Mel’s decision. During a red carpet interview before Tuesday night’s live show, Heidi Klum told Entertainment Tonight that, “I’m her friend, and I’ve been her friend for a really long time, and I’m always going to be there for her and help her with whatever she needs help in.”

Simon Cowell, who, in the the past has given Mel a lot of grief about her failed relationship and Spice Girl past, admitted, “Mel’s a trooper…she comes to the show, leaves everything behind, focuses on the contestant. That is a true professional. She’s so professional, it’s all about the contestants with her, so a lot of respect for her.”

After the live episode, where Mel’s band was celebrated by my favorite AGT contestant Hans, who delivered a glittery cover of “Spice Up Your Life”, Howie Mandel told ET that “She’s a very strong, wonderful lady whose battled what a lot of people battle,” adding, I’m just amazed at how she can show up and be a true professional and just a wonderful person who is entertaining and I’m thrilled and I feel lucky that I get to sit beside her and that America gets to enjoy her and watch her and listen to her.”

It’s good to know that Mel’s got the support of her AGT family. I hope she’s gets in a better head space soon. Besides her giddy reaction to Hans’ performance on Tuesday, she’s appeared to be down all this season, so I hope she gets the help she needs. And, Ellen Show producers, if Ellen’s on vacation, just air reruns in the future – or get a guest host who understands what an interview is. I can help out here: 1. Ask a question. 2. Shut up and listen.

The great news is here and Chelsea Houska has given birth to her baby girl. The Teen Mom 2 star had her little girl today and shared on social networks right away. Us Weekly shared the details about her little girl. Cole and Chelsea are one of the favorite couples on this show. She had the baby on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. They named her Layne, but haven’t shared very many other details just yet.

This is Chelsea Houska’s third child and she had her baby girl on her birthday. Chelsea turned 27-years-old today and got a pretty great birthday present. Her husband Cole DeBoer sent her out a message on Instagram saying, “Happy birthday to my sweet perfect wife Chelsea DeBoer @chelseahouska who just gave our family this beautiful blessing! Sharing the same amazing day I am so in love with our family! Our newest edition Baby Layne!!”

Happy birthday to YOU, sweet baby Layne ?

A post shared by Chelsea DeBoer (@chelseahouska) on Aug 29, 2018 at 11:43am PDT

This is her second child with Cole. Chelsea shared the news that a baby was on the way back in March. At the time, they already knew that it was going to be a little girl. The couple seems really happy with how things are going for them and adding their daughter to the mix is the icing on the cake.

Chelsea and Cole got married back in October 2016 and also have a son Watson, 19 months. Houska also has a daughter Aubree, 8, that she shares with her ex-boyfriend Adam Lind. This is the reason she joined the show Teen Mom 2. She had Aubree at a young age, but since Chelsea Houska has really grown up and found a great guy in Cole. She is no longer a teen mom, but the viewers still love getting updates on her life.

They actually told Aubree about Chelsea being pregnant before they shared the news with the world. This made it hard for the little girl but shew as able to keep the secret somehow. It sounds like she was really excited about having a little sister. Now the guys are outnumbered in their house, but that being said Cole doesn’t seem to mind. You never know if these two will decide to have another child in the future or not.

Do you think that Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer are one of the best couples on Teen Mom 2? Let us know in the comments and don’t miss new episodes of Teen Mom 2 when they air on MTV on Monday nights.
