Miranda Lambert dumped Evan Felker last week, at some point. We found out about their breakup just days after Evan Felker’s divorce came through. I should have suggested a theory in this “will Evan and Staci Felker get back together now?” story – maybe they will get back together and Miranda will homewreck him all over again. She only liked him when he was taken. As soon as Staci even thinks about taking Evan back, Miranda will be back on Evan like white on rice. But for now, we’re left wondering: why did Miranda dump Evan in the first place? People Mag has the answer: because he broke her “rules.”

After Miranda Lambert suddenly announced she was single, fans immediately began wondering what went wrong in her brief romance with Evan Felker. Last week, the country superstar revealed in an interview with The Tennessean that she and the Turnpike Troubadours singer, both 34, recently broke up, but the reason behind the split instantly became a game of fill in the blank.

Now, a source reveals to PEOPLE that Felker crossed lines that caused their relationship to end.

“I don’t think it was a dramatic split, but he knew what he was ‘allowed’ to do based on her rules and he broke them,” says the source. “He did something that he knew she wasn’t going to approve of, she assumed he did it and he didn’t deny it.”

I know everyone is like “Star Magazine is bullsh–t” and I believe that Star is full of sh-t about some things, or maybe even a lot of things. But over the past year, I’ve started to believe that Star has some good sources within Miranda’s camp, because they actually break some news about her and/or have some interesting details which are eventually confirmed by other outlets. A few weeks back, Star claimed that Miranda had “rules” for Evan – if he contacted Staci or spoke to his wife in any way, Miranda would dump him and kick him off her tour. I think that’s exactly what happened – Evan contacted Staci in some way after their divorce came through and Miranda lost her damn mind. Can you imagine trying to live like this? Miranda seems like such a nutjob.

A few weeks ago, Kanye West escorted Kim Kardashian to 2 Chainz’s Miami wedding. They rented a giant, neon Mercedes SUV which matched Kim’s neon dress. Kanye wore a muted putty-colored suit (wrinkled) and what looked like too-small slide sandals. The fact that Kanye wears his sandals too small became a thing. People were clowning on Kanye for days about his too-small sandals, and the fact that he wears his sandals with socks too, I would think. As it turns out, Kanye has been doing it on purpose:

Now, do you think Kanye really intended to wear his sandals in “the Japanese way”? Or did he just wear too-small sandals for no reason and it took him two weeks to figure out an explanation? I don’t really care one way or the other – how you wear your sandals is a personal choice. I could not deal with my heel hanging off the back of my sandal though – it would annoy the hell out of me and it would probably make me walk funny. Is one way “better” for you or something?

Do you think you’re built to be a trophy wife? I go back and forth on whether I could handle it. I think I would enjoy the stability of “being taken care of” by an older man who has been around the block. But I also know that I prize my independence and doing whatever the hell I want all the time. Salma Hayek is not like that though – she ended up with a billionaire and never looked back. She got together with Francois-Henri Pinault circa 2006-07. They welcomed their daughter Valentina together, and Francois and Salma were married in 2009. They’ve been pretty happy ever since, because sh-t, she married a billionaire. They have homes all over the world, they travel all the time, and they’re living the good life. Well, nine years after their wedding, Francois “surprised” Salma with a vow renewal. Hm…

Salma Hayek is one lucky woman. She revealed the sweet and romantic surprise her husband organized for her while on vacation by the beach. In a series of photos shared on Instagram, the producer shared the adorable photos of herself and husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, renewing their vows in an intimate ceremony, with their daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault as a witness. “The summer is coming to an end and my best moment was when my husband surprised me with a vow renewal,” the 51-year-old gushed.

Clad in a red casual dress, the actress joked, “it was not what I would have chosen to wear to my wedding but I was told I was going to the spa!” And while the Mexico native would’ve liked a mariachi band to perform, her husband got the next best thing. “There were no mariachi band on the island but my husband found this one man band,” she shared.

A surprise vow renewal after nine years of marriage… sketchy or fine? Romantic or suspicious? Or all of the above? Salma always talks up Francois as a total romantic who adores her and respects her and whatever. But I do wonder. Nothing says “guilty conscience” like a surprising romantic gesture, at least to me. That’s probably why I’m not built to be a Trophy Wife. I would be side-eyeing Francois and yelling “WHAT DID YOU DO?”

People Magazine has a new story about Ben Affleck’s sad state before his rehab stay. Kaiser floated the idea to me that this was the cover story before Senator John McCain passed and they rightfully gave him the cover. The narrative in this story is similar to previous reports that Ben reached out for help. They describe how he was in such a sad state that he was compliant and ready to go to treatment. Jen may have staged an intervention, but Ben supposedly prompted her to do that. There’s another People story, probably from the same print article, about Ben and Lindsay’s relationship and how it ended. I’m excerpting both below.

Ben’s condition before rehab
“Ben had been drinking alone for days,” a source tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “He was in bad shape. He had barely been eating and had not showered. It didn’t take much convincing. He wanted to go, and he cooperated.”

Affleck entered rehab on Aug. 22 with a second source telling PEOPLE, “He knew he needed help and was vocal about it.”

“He’s battled addiction for a long time now,” says an Affleck source, noting the star had been “constantly working on himself” but after splitting with Lindsay Shookus in July “went into a darker and darker place until he had to reach out for help.”

On his relationship with Lindsay
“When it was good it was really really good. When they were in the same time zone and not focused on other things it was good,” the source says. “It became incredibly complicated with their families, with their jobs.”

“He really liked her. He loved that she was smart, funny, opinionated,” the source adds. “When they were together it brought him a bit outside of his comfort zone. She brought a bit of fresh air into his life that he needed.”

After that People includes the quotes we’ve already heard about why Lindsay broke up with Ben, because he wasn’t getting better. Many of you think she broke up with him because he wasn’t proceeding with his divorce and/or decided to publicly date a 22 year-old to force Lindsay’s hand. Consider Ben’s state before his rehab stay and the fact that he scored a date with a 22 year-old Playboy model during that time.

Radar Online is reporting that Ben and Jen have been in family counseling with their kids in rehab. We do know that Jen visited Ben in rehab, so this is possible, but if so it’s a violation of patient confidentiality for someone to leak it to Radar. They also claim that Matt Damon has dumped Ben as a friend. They may be estranged, that happens sometimes, but I doubt they’re no longer friends. They have a production company together and they’ve been best friends since childhood. Maybe Matt and Ben aren’t as close now but they’ll probably make up and be best buds again once (if, let’s be realistic) Ben gets sober. There’s a lot of pressure on Ben to do that and all this publicity can’t be helping.
