E.T. star Drew Barrymore posted a photo with 2-year-old daughter Frankie via Instagram Friday.

“#peopleilove Frankie Barrymore Kopelman. This moment makes the whole world fall away for me,” the single mom, 41, captioned the image smooching her sweetie.

Last week, the Blended actress shared a shot with her daughters – including 4-year-old Olive – cheering on the girls’ father, Will Kopelman, who completed the New York City Marathon.

In several Instagram images, the actress shared the hugs, signs and love that her ex-husband encountered when he crossed the finish line.

Although no longer married, Drew and Will plan to spend the Christmas holidays together with their girls.

“Usually we go to Idaho every year, but this year we’re switching it up. We have three adventures planned for our kids that range in activities with other kids and travels and some fun stuff,” the actress recently said. “We’re spending it as a family and doing cool things. Some involve animals and some involve friends.”

I like to joke around and say that Sean Penn’s face looks like a ham hock, but I have to admit two things. One, it’s sort of refreshing to see an actor – male or female – who doesn’t give a damn about the wear and tear on their face. It’s especially refreshing for an American actor. Two, after seeing Donald Trump’s ham-like visage in the Oval Office last week, I can safely say that Penn might no longer be Ham-Face to me. Perhaps I should call him Old Leather Shoe. Old Leather Shoe covers the new issue of Haute Living, a pretty fancy magazine. And within that fancy magazine, Penn mostly talks about how much he hates the fancy people who come to his Haiti charity fundraisers because he thinks those people don’t donate enough money. Some highlights from the interview:

His annual Haiti Rising galas: “There are a few extraordinary people that come, but then you have a room that is full mostly of people that are not giving anything. They eat, stargaze and watch the band but, honestly, I don’t think there’s a person in that room that can’t afford $25. I always wonder about that.”

Still, he’s surprised that anyone turns out given his involvement: He says he is ‘aware of stuff,’ and admitted that he is ‘always surprised by anything very positive or anything very negative… I can imagine, based on things I’ve heard about myself, that nobody would show up at [my] damn event because of my involvement, you know? I can imagine that and, yet, people come out. I put one foot in front of the other, and it is what it is.’

He sees it as his duty to use his fame for good: “If you’re in the acting or film business, where your major job is to share things, then you ought not to be [in the business] if you don’t. It’s a really lucky life and a really fortunate one, but it’s all just life to me.”

He was advised to not stay more than three months in Haiti: ‘I made the mistake of not taking that advice. I think I went a little kooky. It really just happened this way: once I got to Haiti, like so many other people, I fell in love with it – the people there, the possibilities that is has.’

[From The Daily Mail]

I actually looked up our previous posts about Penn’s Haiti fundraisers, because my memory was that the fundraisers were always well-attended and they always raised millions of dollars. The last one was back in January – Penn organizes the fundraisers around Golden Globes weekend, when everyone is in town. And it raised millions of dollars. But! The money wasn’t the headline that weekend. The headlines were A) Madonna acting like she was still in love with Penn at the fundraiser and B) Penn’s interview with El Chapo. While Penn’s charity might be coming from the right place, he does have a tendency to shoot himself in the foot with the headlines. And if I was a celebrity who regularly attended the fundraisers, I would not plan on attending this year, because Penn will probably just bitch about you later.

Have you ever seen a boxing movie? Then congratulations, you’ve seen Miles Teller’s new movie, Bleed For This. Based on real events surrounding boxer Vinny Pazienza, Bleed For This is one of those biopics that, despite being essentially true, seems too cliché to be anything but a Hollywood story….

The Instagram above is from Brian Austin Green, who went on a Dadampage on Instagram Wednesday. That adorable child is Bodhi Ransom, his two year old. After posting this one, Brian gave us another Bodhi shot, this time pictured with older brother, Noah Shannon, four:

I admit, I’m a sucker for curly hair on kids. I took countless photos of my daughter’s soft curls when she was that age. Following the joint pic, Noah got his own standalone shot in which he is showing off his best distant stare modeling pose:

Crazy how good looking he is

Okay, he’s probably just looking at something – we know he’s not watching TV. And last, but not least, three-month old Journey River. In this post, Brian enlightens us on whom he credits for these lovely children, his wife Megan Fox:

Well he’s not wrong – those children are gorgeous. They have the most beautiful mouths. This is the second time we have been blessed with Journey’s appearance. Last month, Megan shared a pic of her and Journey hanging out:

Doesn’t it look like he is critiquing her angle? ‘Mom, come on, your framing is all off – sheesh!’

As some may remember, Journey was an unexpected pregnancy, which Brian said was the case with all three of their sons. But since this pregnancy happened in the middle of their divorce proceeding, at least we, the public, were shocked as hell. But, Megan and Brian reconciled and from the looks of it, everyone’s content. You know what? It’s Friday. I could spend a few sentences giving my thoughts on the complexities of Brian and Megan’s dynamic but it’s been a long, lousy week on the heels of a devastating week and I don’t feel like being negative. Congratulations on the beautiful, healthy babies. I wish everyone all the best.

Now let’s look at some cute baby pics and move into the weekend.

For years – if not decades – Buckingham Palace has needed extensive renovations. I wouldn’t go so far as to call BP a hellhole or anything, but it does not sound like a nice place to live. There are apparently moisture and mold issues, electrical issues, crumbling edifices, threadbare carpets and much, much more. This was one of the big complaints when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got to skip the line (the line of people waiting for renovations) when they had Apartment 1 of Kensington Palace renovated. The complaint was that there were other royal buildings that were in dire need of work, and besides, Will and Kate are rarely even in London, so why the rush to renovate KP? Now, finally, BP is going to be renovated. At a cost of $460 million!!!

Queen Elizabeth is getting a makeover — for her royal home! Buckingham Palace is set to undergo a decade-long refurbishment to the tune of $460 million, officials announced on Friday. The overhaul, which begins in April, will include replacing 100 miles of electric cables, 2,500 radiators and 36,000 square yards of floorboards. Around 5,000 light fittings and 500 pieces of sanitary ware – toilets, basins –will go, too.

“The project seeks to prevent a serious risk of fire, flood and damage to both the building and the priceless Royal Collection of art belonging to the nation,” the U.K. Treasury said. While royal officials say that the Queen, 90, and her family will not have to move out during the renovations, the royals may have to switch rooms as maintenance takes place.

The most critical renovations will begin in April 2017. However, major royal events — such as her annual garden parties, investitures, Trooping the Colour, State Visits, Changing of the Guard and the Buckingham Palace Summer Opening — will continue as normal.

The Sovereign Grant (taxpayers’ money) will almost double from $53 million to $94 million to pay for the project until the work is complete. In a statement, the Master of The Queen’s Household, Tony Johnstone-Burt, said, “Buckingham Palace is one of the most iconic buildings in the world, and this program is designed to extend its working life by a further 50 years. On completion of the work, we’ll have a Palace fit for purpose until 2067. The program addresses parts of the structure you can’t see from the outside: the plumbing, electrics and other essential building services which have gone six decades without a comprehensive upgrade.

“We take the responsibility that comes with receiving these public funds extremely seriously indeed; equally, we are convinced that by making this investment in Buckingham Palace now we can avert a much more costly and potentially catastrophic building failure in the years to come. We are also confident that our chosen option – the 10 Year Phased Refit – offers the best value for money whilst allowing the Palace to remain fully operational and occupied.”

[From People]

It’s funny to me that they’re only announcing the start date (April 2017) and not saying when this monstrous project will be done. Considering the incremental increase to the Sovereign Grant, I would say that the whole renovation will probably be a decade-long escapade, and that King Charles III will be reigning by the time this thing is done. For a total cost of $460 million – and let’s face, it will end up costing a lot more than that – I wonder if anyone suggested that BP should be seen as tear-down? Surely, it would probably just cost a similar amount to rip the thing down and start fresh. But British people love their history, so of course that wasn’t an option! Imagine it – the Queen and her corgis in a nouveau riche mega-mansion!

Trainer Jillian Michaels did a live interview with US Magazine to promote her new book, Yeah Baby! The Modern Mama’s Guide to Mastering Pregnancy, Having a Healthy Baby, and Bouncing Back Better Than Ever. Jillian wrote the book after her experience following her partner Heidi’s pregnancy and birth in 2012. Jillian and Heidi went to a fertility clinic to get pregnant, and Jillian said that doctors tried to get Heidi go to on the drugs Clomid and HCG to increase her fertility and she pushed back against that, insisting that Heidi didn’t need that because she was already ovulating. Jillian also complained about the prenatal vitamins the fertility clinic gave Heidi, because they had unnatural ingredients. It sounds a little extreme to me, those ingredients aren’t “poison,” but here’s what she said about that, and about her advice to mothers on getting back in shape postpartum:

On the prenatal vitamin given to her partner at a fertility clinic
At the number one fertility clinic on the west coast they give her a prenatal vitamin. So me being a nut, I read it. ‘Red number 40, hydrogenated oil, propylene glycol’ these are just a few and that’s a really toxic preservative. I was like ‘you’re giving a pregnant woman a pill full of poison.’ So I got a team of doctors and a registered dietitian to write the meal plan and a pregnancy fitness expert… to write the book here literally.

Do you have to shift your workout before you get pregnant?
You want to get yourself down to a healthy weight. Some of those markers [like gestational diabetes] have to do with body weight affecting your hormones. When it comes to your fitness regimen, don’t go too crazy. Exercise is interpreted by the body as stress. [Intense exercise] can affect your fertility. [She also recommends you keep you iron, calcium and magnesium levels up] Clean foods, eliminate the chemicals now.

On exercise recommendations while pregnant
First semester there really aren’t a ton of modifications. Second trimester [you have to check for diastasis recti] You don’t want to be doing a ton of ballistic or explosive exercises like plyometric or Olympic lifts. You don’t want to be crunching, you don’t want to be rotating. You want to strengthen your pelvic floor, you do want to maintain a strong core. [Without doing too much core work. She recommends modifying exercises.] Don’t go over 140 bpm.

Postpartum exercise recommendations
The delivery you have is going to impact [it]. If you did get diastasis recti, a C-section [or] an episiotomy you want to talk to your doctor. In the week we give a six week walking regimen to build you back gradually. From there we start to gradually rehab, build up core strength, posture, strengthen the back… by six months you should be back to prepregnancy fitness level, bang it out.

[From video on US Magazine]

When I read the article on US’s site about this interview I rankled a little at the quote “by six months you should be back to prepregnancy fitness level,” quote because holy crap that was not realistic for me and like Chrissy Teigen I do not consider that realistic for most moms. However in context, when I saw the video, it was clear that Jillian is talking about the plan in her book and how following it should bring someone back to being fit. I prefer the advice of a more moderate and older fitness expert, Denise Austin, who says it takes nine months to have a baby and that it should take nine months to get back in shape. (I’m paraphrasing because I’m going from memory.)

As for her comments on prenatal vitamins being poison – come on. They may have some unnatural ingredients but from what I can find propylene glycol is approved by the FDA and is metabolized into lactic acid in the body. It’s considered safe. People can be allergic to red dye number 40 and it has been show to affect the unborn babies of pregnant rats – when consumed as 10% of their overall diet. So while I may object to her calling prenatal vitamins poison, I get avoiding red dye 40 while pregnant. Plus doctors recommend avoiding trans fat as well. But how much of that stuff is in the pill actually?

The first thing I texted Lainey after news broke that Nick Cannon is expecting a child with his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell was, “Is your Butterfly OK?” Nick confirmed that he has a “baby on the way” on The Breakfast Club. “Baby on The Way” is also the title of his new single in case you were won…
