Here are some photos of Michael Shannon at the New York premiere of Nocturnal Animals. He’s so deliciously creepy-looking, isn’t he? That being said, I would hit it so hard. He’s incredibly sexy and very watchable. As we discussed before, Shannon has been doing press for his Oscar-bait films, and unfortunately for him, all of his interviews were scheduled for just after the election. Fortunately for us, Shannon has run out of f—ks to give, and he’s been giving a series of take-no-prisoners interviews in which he assesses the state of the country and the current political climate in obscene and glorious ways. Shannon was asked at this premiere whether he felt regret about his political statements and he said:

“Ah, yeah, and there’s nothing to lose by speaking out these days, really. Who really cares what I think or what I say anyway? I have absolutely no influence or power whatsoever. I’m not saying it makes me feel better, but why not?” Shannon added, “I’ve heard a lot of people saying, ‘Oh, we should give [Trump] a chance, it’s not that bad.’ And I’m like, ‘No, you’re wrong. Just look at the news. It is that bad.’”

[From EW]

I pretty much agree. I agreed with his interview on rogerebert.com too. And he also spoke to Metro post-election and these quotes… he’s so biting and angry. I love it. Some highlights:

On Pres. Trump: “I’m on tenterhooks here. I have two young children. Basically this man is probably going to destroy the earth and civilization as we know it. It’s kind of terrifying.”

He doesn’t think the protests will do much: “That’s the thing: These protests are so moving, but ultimately what are they going to accomplish? I’m so glad these kids on the campuses everywhere are going ape s—, but at the end of the day the guy’s still going to be president. Maybe you need a civil war or something.”

You can’t avoid talking about politics: “No, it’s unavoidable. It should be talked about constantly. It should be the only thing anyone talks about”

The wall: “The wall isn’t between the U.S. and Mexico; the wall is between people who voted for Trump and people who didn’t. And we’ve got to do something about it. I don’t want to live in a country where people voted for Trump. I want to live in some other f—ing country. But I don’t want to run away. So we’re just going to have to bust this thing up.

On older voters: “There’s a lot of old people who need to realize they’ve had a nice life, and it’s time for them to move on. Because they’re the ones who go out and vote for these a–holes. If you look at the young people, between 18 and 25, if it was up to them Hillary would have been president. No offense to the seniors out there. My mom’s a senior citizen. But if you’re voting for Trump, it’s time for the urn.

What to do if your parents voted for Trump: “F— ’em. You’re an orphan now. Don’t go home. Don’t go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Don’t talk to them at all. Silence speaks volumes. Thank god no one in my immediate family would ever remotely consider voting for Trump…That’s the tragic thing about Kentucky: There’s two cities in Kentucky that are filled with intelligent, vibrant people. And then there’s the rest of it. But my mom is a super cool and intelligent lady. She was a pollster; she was helping people vote. She told me about this old woman who walked in and needed help voting. My mom had to stand there and watch this woman vote for Trump. Then she turned around and said, “How do I make sure my vote gets counted? I want to make sure. I don’t want this conspiracy to happen.” Because that’s the ironic thing: On that day there were so many Trump voters who were saying, “I voted for Trump, but it doesn’t make a difference because they got it rigged anyway.” Yeah, they sure f—ing do, don’t they? F—in’ A, man.

[From Metro]

“But if you’re voting for Trump, it’s time for the urn” – something very similar happened with the Brexit vote, didn’t it? The majority of young people came out and voted to Bremain, but the older people voted for Brexit, and people were like “this barely even affects you, you’re not even going to face the long-term consequences of this.” That’s the complaint Shannon is making rather brutally but effectively. I’m so proud of the fact that my mom voted for Hillary Clinton too! And yeah… I agree with pretty much everything Michael Shannon says. He should run for president. Why not?

Jennifer Lopez has a feature in the December/January issue of Harper’s Bazaar to promote her new collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti. If you had asked me back in ‘90s if I thought J.Lo had the potential for this kind of career longevity, I would have called you crazy. She’s still a big deal – she has a Las Vegas residency, a hit TV show, she’s a TV and film producer, she’s still making music, and she’s still a force in fashion. It’s sort of remarkable. Anyway, I found this Bazaar interview slightly boring except for the story about her white fur coat. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

Fashion nostalgia: “If you hear a song from a certain time and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God!,’ it takes you back to that period in your life. I do the same thing with my closet. I walk in and I see a hat or a pair of shoes or a coat, and I go, ‘Wow! I remember I was wearing that the day this happened, or I was walking down the street; or I heard this or my mom said that, or my boyfriend?…’ You know what I mean? ‘And I was dating so-and-so?…’ I love hoops, jeans, boots, and sparkle,” she says. “If you look back to my first red-carpet days, it’s short, sparkly Versace dresses. I know everybody knows the green jungle dress, but I’m more about Versace’s chain mail and Swarovski crystal dresses, which I’ve been doing since back then.”

The fur coat she wore when her kids were born: “It was in the middle of a snowstorm, and I wore this big white fur coat. I was huge, and it was the only coat that would fit me. Every time I see that coat, I think of the day my kids were born.”

Her collab with Giuseppe Zanotti: “I first met Giuseppe years ago, and I remember him just being a really sweet spirit,” she says. “He came to my house. Even back then we talked about doing a collaboration together. We talked about different things, a music video I was about to do, all kinds of stuff. He went through my closet, and we sat in there. We were supposed to just meet and say hello, but he wound up staying for hours, and we just talked fashion. He was like, ‘Oh, my gosh! You have those shoes? They only made 10 of those!’ I’ve been a huge fan of his for a long time.”

Her favorite kinds of shoes: The 16 styles in the Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez collection, available in January, range from Swarovski-encrusted booties to embellished wedge sneakers. “I have a certain sensibility about the way I dress and design, and I just kind of handed that to him,” she says of their process. “People really associate me with sparkle and a little bit of street edge and things like that. I wanted to make sure the collection had that, but then some [styles] feel very glam and high-end fashion.”

Jennifer Pink & Jennifer Blue: An important part of Lopez’s sensibility is the color palette, including a pale-blush tone that she refers to as “Jennifer pink.” “I’ve always called it that—it’s something I’ve always had with my own clothing lines,” she explains. As a corollary, there is “Jennifer blue,” “which came from a gift I got years ago,” she says. The gift: a 14.5-carat blue-gray diamond given to her by Anthony for their first wedding anniversary.

Her daughter Emme: “She loves fashion. She was wearing my shoes as soon as she started walking. She’s actually learning to sew already. Who knows? We may have a little designer on our hands.”

[From Harper’s Bazaar]

I’m assuming she wasn’t actually wearing a white fur coat while giving birth, although I wouldn’t be surprised if that actually happened. It seems like more of a Mariah Carey or Beyonce move though, to wear fur during labor.

I love the idea of naming colors after yourself too. I might need a Kaiser Blue or a Kaiser Red. Kaiser Blue would be a lot like rich shade of cornflower, one of my favorite shades of blue. Kaiser Red would be that deep blue-red, a color which looks great on me. I actually think I know exactly what Jennifer Pink is – it’s the same shade as the J.Lo Glow bottle.

Deepwater Horizon star Mark Wahlberg posted a photo with sons Michael, 10, and Brendan, 8, via Instagram.

“Great to have some father-son bonding time last night,” the Daddy’s Home star, 45, captioned the image with his boys watching a football game at the Gillette Stadium in his native Boston, Mass.

In September, the Ted star and his wife Rhea Durham took their family — including daughters Ella, 13, and Grace, 6 — on a trip to England.

Wahlberg’s upcoming film, Patriots Day, is based on the book Boston Strong which tells the story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the subsequent terrorist manhunt.

Patriots Day hits theaters on Jan. 13, 2017.

Kaley Cuoco covers the new issue of Women’s Health. The cover confused me, because I didn’t think Kaley’s hair was this long. Extensions? Wiglet? Or have I just not paid enough attention to her hair recently? Anyway, the photos are the least interesting part. In the interview, Kaley drops some truth bombs about what she’s gotten done. Her list is pretty short, but still… she’s pretty honest, so I believe that this is probably all she’s gotten done. A few years back, she admitted to getting breast implants when she was 18 years old. Now she says that the implants weren’t her only augmentation – she also got a nose job “years ago.” And she still gets filler “in a line in my neck.” Some highlights from the interview:

Plastic surgery: “Years ago, I had my nose done. And my boobs—best thing I ever did. Recently I had a filler in a line in my neck I’ve had since I was 12. As much as you want to love your inner self…I’m sorry, you also want to look good. I don’t think you should do it for a man or anyone else, but if it makes you feel confident, that’s amazing.”

Her go-to workouts: “I used to not enjoy working out and I found something that I love and it is yoga. I absolutely love it. Sometimes do I want to get up and do it in the morning—no. But when I get out, I feel like a million bucks. I tried spinning, I tried running, I tried yoga, I tried Pilates. I realized I don’t like running…I refuse to do it. I like spinning, so I try to mix that in. When I found hot yoga, I fell in love with it and was like, this is my thing.”

Her diet: “When I wake up, I have the same little bit of peanut butter on toast every morning,” she says. For lunch, she’ll grab half of a sandwich, and when it comes to dinner, Kaley says she’ll eat fish, such as salmon, and vegetables.

Fish is the only meat she’ll do: “No more meat, I’m like, done,” she says. And like the rest of us, she also gets late-night cravings. When those hunger pangs hit, she curbs them with a healthy snack, like an apple and peanut butter. Another way she stays healthy and happy: Indulging her cravings from time to time. “Tonight I’ll be going to In-N-Out and doing one of their grilled cheeses, massive fries, and a shake. That’d be a cheat for me.”

Working hard to stay fit: “Bottom line is, you know, I’m not 21 anymore. It used to be so easy, I didn’t have to do as much. Now, it’s part of my day—working out is part of my day, eating right is part of my day.”

Success doesn’t come overnight: “I don’t think success comes over night. I’ve been doing this for over twenty years and it’s been a long road. If you really want it you’ve got to go for it, but that’s for anything … it takes a lot of work and a lot of drive and a lot of patience.”

[From Women’s Health & E! News]

I feel like if you’re that concerned about a line on your neck, you need something better to occupy your time. But I’m saying that as someone who does not work in front of a camera. I was recently professionally photographed and it was one of the most painful experiences of my year (seriously). I could barely look at the photos. I saw every flaw. So, yes, I can totally see how an actress or model would start obsessing about that one little flaw – a line on their neck – and feel the need to inject their neck with fillers.

As for “I’m not 21 anymore,” yeah, I feel her. Once your early 20s wear off, your metabolism shifts. It sucks. Although I think I’m healthier now than I was in my mid-20s, for what it’s worth.

Marion Cotillard: Stunning In Stripes

Expectant mama Marion Cotillard looked radiant at the New York City premiere of Allied on Tuesday (November 15). The Inception star was stunning in stripes at the evening event.

The following day, the French actress, 41, looked chic in a tan coat over a black maternity dress while leaving her hotel in the East Village.

On Saturday, the actress looked beautiful in a black Christian Dior gown at the Governors Awards in Hollywood, Calif.

Last week, the pregnant actress attended the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming film, Allied, alongside costar Brad Pitt. Cotillard looked radiant in a navy Christian Dior maternity dress at the event.

She recently dished on doing love scenes with her hunky costar in their upcoming romantic thriller.

“We rehearse and had a very determined choreography, and then it allows you freedom. When you know exactly what your body will do, then you can act and you can be free to give the emotions and give the feelings because you won’t think, ‘What am I going to do next? Am I going to go on top of him?’ It’s an awkward situation,” Cotillard told reporters. “We laughed because you need to get it out because this is so weird. And so you get this time of looking at each other and saying, ‘OK, this is so weird.’ And then we go into this and then I’m going on top of you and then we are going to kiss.”

And she helped the father-of-six with his French skills as well.

“He had this commitment to do the best he could, which was really, really impressive, so I helped him by being very tough,” she shared. “I was very honest with him. But at the same time, I really wanted to support him in this process that I went through, and I know how hard it is.”

Cotillard and her actor-director beau, Guillaume Canet, 43, are expecting their second child together. They are already parents to 5-year-old son Marcel.

Recently, Cotillard announced her second pregnancy, and slammed rumors that she’s responsible for the breakup between Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Meanwhile, the Fight Club star, 52, has been cleared of child abuse allegations, although his custody battle continues.

Allied hits theaters on Nov. 23.

Intro for November 18, 2016

Dear Gossips,

In my mind, Barbra Streisand and my mother are always connected. It’s because of Katie Morosky and those nails. Like Katie Morosky, my mother always had beautiful nails, red and glossy and glamourous. Look at these nails.

Barbra was really particular about those nails. …

There are several headlines out of President-Elect Donald Trump’s transition, all of which are coming post-Stalin-esque Purge. Mike Pence is now in charge of the transition after Chris Christie got pushed out by Jared Kushner, but Trump wants everyone to know that he’s making the final decision… now that he knows he actually has to appoint everyone himself and he won’t just inherit thousands of staffers from the Obama administration. Let’s go through some of the rumors and confirmations!

Michael Flynn for National Security Advisor. I’m a political junkie but I never paid much attention to Flynn, so it’s been interesting and terrifying to read some of the coverage of this appointment. Flynn was one of the few people with an intelligence/military background to support Trump, and Flynn once served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Flynn has some pretty medieval ideas about Islam, and his son and chief of staff are both conspiracy theorists pushing some really disgusting information online, according to CNN. Flynn also has (you guessed it!) some creepy ties to Russia. Sounds about right.

Secretary of State. Trump hasn’t made a final decision on who he will appoint to be America’s top diplomat. Rudy Giuliani has been telling everybody that he’s up for the job, but it looks like Trump wants to check out all of his options. Trump has met with South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, possibly about State, although I think she’s probably up for a different cabinet department. Interestingly enough, Trump also met with Mitt Romney. Romney openly loathed Trump during the election, and now Trump is considering Romney for State. What a crazy world. Another potential candidate in the mix? David Petraeus, who left the Obama administration (when he was CIA Director) in scandal when he gave his mistress classified material.

Attorney General. The Hill says Ted Cruz has been floating the idea that if Trump asked him to be AG, he would take it. Cruz did prove his “loyalty” to Trump long-term, so I actually think Trump would consider Cruz. The thing is, Cruz is absolutely loathed in the Senate. I don’t see how Cruz would get confirmed by the Senate, even with a Republican majority. Hilariously, just as Cruz was telling media outlets that he would love AG, Trump’s people leaked it that Trump has offered AG to Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions. Sessions is a Neanderthal of course. He was once deemed too racist to be a federal judge. And now he’ll be America’s top lawyer.

In the midst of all of this transitioning and planning, you would think that Donald Trump has his hands full, right? That he realizes the seriousness of the office and he’s buckling down and being a grown-up? No. Trump is planning a “victory tour” of all of the states that voted for him. He isn’t interesting in speaking to the states who didn’t vote for him, mind you. Because he’s a divider, not a uniter.

Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman stepped out on Thursday (November 17).

While holding up a gift, the expectant mama, 33, kept it casual in black pants and a gray maternity top while running some errands in West Hollywood, Calif.

The day before, we spotted the Black Swan star donning workout gear during her prenatal hike in L.A.

On Monday, the pregnant actress radiated the red carpet in a white Christian Dior dress at the American Film Institute’s Festival in Hollywood.

Last week, the Thor actress wore a chic black midi maternity dress at the 20th Annual Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills.

“I’m feeling great,” she said at the event.

Last month, we spotted Portman in a casual white top and maternity jeans while lunching in L.A.

The Garden State actress and husband Benjamin Millepied – who were wed in California in 2012 – are expecting their second child together. They are already parents to 5-year-old son Aleph.

Portman’s upcoming biopic, Jackie, premieres Dec. 2 in theaters.

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna welcomed baby Dream last week. Reportedly, everything went according to plan (Chyna had a C-section) and there was no real drama, at least at first. Rob’s family came to visit the baby immediately, and Chyna had her mom there too. People Magazine even says that since the baby came, Rob and Chyna “have been getting along too,” which is a contrast from their “they could break up at any moment” vibe during the pregnancy. Rob seems grateful that Chyna knows what she’s doing (she already has a son) and that she had an easy delivery. But “no drama” doesn’t sell, you know. Enter Kris Jenner!!! Reportedly, Kris Jenner threw a hissy fit when she learned that they were naming the baby “Dream.”

In Touch magazine has exclusively learned that Kris Jenner is not happy with her son Rob Kardashian and his baby momma, Blac Chyna, for naming their daughter Dream. An insider tells In Touch that minutes after the baby was born, a fight immediately broke out over it.

“Kris was there and told both Rob and Chyna that the baby’s name needed to start with a K.”

“She said it was all about branding. But they didn’t listen,” the insider says. “Kris was yelling, ‘We all agreed as a family it was a K name! I’m so done, I can’t believe you reneged on this,’ and stormed out screaming.”

[From In Touch Weekly]

For what it’s worth, even back in September, Chyna and Rob were telling People Mag that they had decided not to go with a K-name. It seemed like the one thing they could agree on, that there didn’t need to be any more K-named children in the family. I also think that Kris doesn’t care so much about the K-branding with the grandchildren. I mean, her grandkids’ names are North, Saint, Penelope, Reign and Mason. Not a K-name in sight! Now, all that being said, I do enjoy the image of Kris Jenner freaking out in the delivery room or whatever. Kris is so controlling with all of her kids, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if she had many opinions about the name.

Today was amazing :) I am so lucky!! Thank you @blacchyna for having our baby and being so strong ! I love you so much and can’t wait to see her get older day by day with you Chy! I love you and Dream so much and Appreciate both of you ????????? I know everyone saying that’s my twin but that’s def your nose Chy lol
