Super sister!

Reese Witherspoon‘s kids – daughter Ava, 17, and son Tennessee, 4 – went trick-or-treating in Hollywood, Calif. on Monday (October 31). While rocking a superhero costume, the doting teen walked hand-in-hand with her little ghost.

The Academy Award-winning actress, 40, recently shared a festive video on Instagram.

“Boo!” she captioned the cute clip.

The Wild actress is also son to 13-year-old son Deacon.

As we heard last week, the “war” between the Duke of York and the Prince of Wales has been heating up significantly. Charles and Andrew have always had issues with each other, but over the past few years, their biggest issue has been Charles’ attempt to push the York princesses out of public sight. Charles believes that the monarchy needs to be slimmed down, and he’s prepared to toss aside many royal cousins, nieces, nephews and more to get a more streamlined monarchy. Andrew believes that his daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice, should be seen as blood princesses who will work hard for The Firm. Andrew and Charles – like bickering little boys – have appealed to their mother, the Queen, to solve this dilemma. And according to the Daily Mail, the Queen has carefully chosen a side: she believes the York princesses should be full-time royals, and that they should have some sort of public role. The Queen adores the York princesses: “Indeed, so fond is the Queen of Beatrice and Eugenie that she has now sided with them and their father Prince Andrew in their growing family rift with Prince Charles. A senior member of the Queen’s court has told The Mail on Sunday that, while she must publicly be seen to support Charles as he plans for the future, she believes that his hopes of sidelining Beatrice and Eugenie could prove impractical. For the sake of the Monarchy, they should be allowed to carry out more royal duties.”

The Queen is keen that Beatrice & Eugenie have royal roles: A source says, “The Queen adores the girls and is keen for them to have some kind of a role. Charles’s vision for a streamlined family is all very well, but how can the Royal Family do everything it currently does with just five players?”

What Andrew wants for his girls: Last weekend it was reported that Andrew had gone so far as to write to his mother to lobby for more significant roles for them. He feels strongly, sources say, that Beatrice and Eugenie should no longer be excluded from royal duties and that they should be properly compensated with state funding. He also requested that his daughters, who live in rented accommodation at St James’s Palace, should be granted accommodation at Kensington Palace along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

The brother-fight is not pleasant: A source close to the Queen says, “The row between Andrew and Charles is not pleasant. It has been going on for many years and it all comes down to Andrew feeling that he and his family are being phased out. This row has been going on for years, but it’s been under the radar. It hasn’t got better, it’s got worse.” It has been said – although not confirmed – that the Queen passed Andrew’s letter on to her private secretary Sir Christopher Geidt who then raised the matter with Prince Charles. He, in turn, is said to be immovable, expressing the view that a member of the Government should tell Andrew directly that his children cannot be working royals.

Royal historian Hugo Vickers on Charles’ idea for a streamlined monarchy: “I suspect Charles is worried that too many royals might be seen as a burden on the general public, but Charles will find it very hard carrying out all the engagements the Royal Family does collectively with just the support of a slimmed-down monarchy. The Queen depends not just on her immediate family but on her cousins also. I would have thought that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would both be a great asset to the Royal Family. I’ve met them both on many occasions and they are very well brought-up girls with an understanding of their titles and the sense of purpose that brings.”

While the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are allegedly not big fans of Beatrice and Eugenie, I think Kate and William also understand that they themselves are pretty lazy and that it would be good to have some cousins around to do some of the lower-tier work… just as long as Bea and Eugenie didn’t “pull focus” from them too much. But Charles’ war with the Yorks is bigger than the princesses, honestly. It sounds more like Charles and Andrew fight about everything, and the princesses are just the latest subject. As for the Queen… I think she’s right. Beatrice and Eugenie should have some royal roles, I guess.

Pretty princess!

Expectant mama Mila Kunis and husband Ashton Kutcher stepped out with daughter Wyatt, 2, on Monday (October 31). While the adorable toddler was dressed as a princess, the famous family were seen trick-or-treating in their Los Angeles, Calif. neighborhood.

The day before, we saw the family-of-three grabbing breakfast in Beverly Hills.

Last week, we spotted the pregnant actress and her daughter in Studio City.

And earlier this month, we spotted the That ’70s Show costars at the Dodgers game in L.A.

The couple expect their second child – a son – within weeks.

In my post about Taylor Swift’s pre-Halloween weekend whereabouts yesterday I wrote that whatever she was doing, whether or not she was in London, she was definitely back in the US on Monday and that we’d see by last night how she does Halloween. And, indeed, we did.

The model mom and husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, are also parents to 3-year-old daughter Vivian.

Brady is also dad to 9-year-old son Jack with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

Some believe that their favorite Disney movie says a lot about them. Personally, I’m grateful that I grew up with parents who prioritized the Disney classics – I grew up on Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White (plus Pinocchio and Dumbo). For princess movies, my favorites were always Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, with Snow White coming in way, way behind. But a lot of people have strong feelings about Snow White, and so this news might cause some hand-wringing.

Continuing Disney’s phase of live-action remakes of all of their classic animated films, Disney has announced that they will be doing a live-action version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. It will be a musical, and new music will be written for the film. There’s no word on whether the live-action film will include “the seven dwarves” but it absolutely feels like that could be a potential landmine for Disney, especially since many feel that even the word “dwarf” is politically charged in certain circles. I don’t know how that part of the story can be avoided though – I mean, that IS the story of Snow White.

But really, we should talk about casting options. Kristen Stewart memorably played Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman, the same film where she started banging her married director Rupert Sanders. So… Kristen is out. Here are some random options that I’m basing on a few minutes of internet research, plus my belief that Disney will hire a true brunette rather than a blonde in a dark wig. Keep in mind: whoever they hire will need to have an okay singing voice. Some choices: Zooey Deschanel, Anna Kendrick, Katy Perry (!!!), Alicia Vikander (??), Saoirse Ronan, Rooney Mara and Jennifer Lawrence . I’m dismissing the idea of Emily Blunt because she’s already doing Mary Poppins for Disney, and I’m dismissing Anne Hathaway and Mila Kunis because I just don’t think they would do it. I included J-Law and Rooney because it feels like they get so many scripts, even if they’re not appropriate for the role. You know J-Law is being offered this as we speak! While Rooney has the coloring for Snow White and I would love it if she had to DEIGN to do a big Disney movie, I doubt she’ll do it. But as I look at this list… am I crazy or would Zooey be sort of perfect for it?

Grammy Award-winning singer Beyoncé and husband, rap superstar Jay Z, got festive with 4-year-old daughter Blue Ivy on Halloween day.

The Bootylicious hitmaker, 35, and her family dressed up as Barbie and Ken. The Holy Grail rapper, 46, looked dapper standing inside a box in a tuxedo with a silver bow tie and perfectly coiffed hair. “40th Anniversary Ken,” the bottom of the box read.

Meanwhile, the Lemonade hitmaker rocked Barbie’s famous black-and-white striped swimsuit and cat-eye sunglasses. Blue Ivy also got into the spirit with a magenta skirt, black top and black leather jacket­­­ that featured black Barbie dolls along the sleeves.

Over the weekend, the famous family dressed in costumes inspired by Salt-N-Pepa’s Push It music video.

Last year, the Carters dressed up in Coming to America-themed Halloween costumes.

I’m still a little bit surprised that we’re taking this “Prince Harry has a new girlfriend” story so seriously. Doesn’t it feel suspicious? It feels suspicious to me. While I’ll believe that Harry and Meghan Markle have been on a few dates and possibly/probably hooked up, the whole Girlfriend Rollout has been very suspicious. Suddenly, outlets like People Magazine are confirming the relationship – a “close friend of Harry’s” told People that “it’s early days” and that they have been dating for “a couple of months.” It feels too official too quickly, just my opinion, and like this story is being used to mask a different royal story? And maybe Harry feels the same way, that he’s being used. Apparently, he was supposed to fly to Canada yesterday to see Meghan but he didn’t get on the plane.

Prince Harry scrapped a secret trip to Canada to meet with new lover Meghan Markle after details of their alleged six-month relationship emerged. A ‘besotted’ Harry, 32, was booked on to a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Toronto at 11.30am and due to land in the Canadian city at 3.30pm yesterday but was a ‘no show’, a source said. Hours before he was due to leave the country claims they had been seeing each other for nearly six months broke in Britain. And it appears that concerns photographers would be waiting for him in London and Toronto may have scuppered their transatlantic tryst.

A source told the Evening Standard: ‘The flight was booked last week but he was a no-show. The crew for the British Airways flight knew the Prince was booked to travel with them. It appears he pulled out at the last minute and decided not to travel.’

One royal source suggested the pair are in a relationship but it is still considered ‘very early days’, and yesterday afternoon, at around the time Harry would have landed, Meghan wished people a ‘happy Sunday’ as she went for a drive with her two dogs.

Ruh-roh. This doesn’t bode well, I fear. While I’m not getting the vibe that Meghan is the one pushing these stories – they seem to be coming from inside the palace! – I also think that Harry will dump a girlfriend as soon as he gets any whiff of publicity. He does not want to date publicly. He’s said that many times. So now that we know about Meghan, is it over?

What else? The Daily Mail has several stories about Meghan, like this girl is being pushed to be the next Cressida Bonas or something. There’s a sympathetic story (not really) about Meghan’s “mixed race heritage” and another story about her style. People Magazine is running a piece with “five clues” that they’re dating (they’re wearing similar bracelets!).

Mild spoilers for Westworld follow
I took the advice of those of you who were urging me to watch Westworld and marathoned it over the weekend. The show is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, with so many layers to the interactions between the hosts, or the robots who work in the wild west-themed park, and the humans who visit and work there. It’s really hard not to get addicted to the show, so if you’re considering watching Westworld do it now before you lose an entire weekend. There are so many excellent performances that you get lost in the story and start to take the debauchery and violence for granted. There were think pieces last week about the host with his head caved in, but it didn’t even phase me, nor did the orgy scenes in the new border town of Pariah. After a while you just kind of accept that there are different rules in Westworld. Apparently it was a bit of a shock to the actors who were filming those scenes. Evan Rachel Wood has an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in which she talks about the evolution of her character, Dolores, and how it was to sit naked in front of her creator, Dr. Robert Ford, played by Anthony Hopkins. There seems to be a whole backstory between Delores and Ford. Rachel tells THR that she tried to figure out what it could be by studying Hopkins’s demeanor during those scenes, but that she couldn’t get a read on him.

Episode five is a big one for Dolores, starting with her arrival in Pariah. What does she make of the town?
I think what we’re starting to notice, especially in this episode, is she is improvising. She’s really breaking code. She’s speaking in a less damsel, Disney princess-type of way, and more like a philosophical stoner. (Laughs.) She’s suddenly asking different questions about her reality, and she’s also making sense of it very quickly, and in an evolved way. Like, when she sees Pariah, she doesn’t freak out; she says, “It’s beautiful in its own way.” Because it’s almost what the world looks like when it’s not pretending. It’s just an honest world. She’s also obviously starting to hear things that she would normally be programmed not to …

And seeing things, as well.
Yes. She’s seeing things and talking to the voice, which is getting louder and stronger. I think she’s scared about what’s happening, but she’s compelled to see where this is going to take her. And we also saw Dolores and Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) have a scene together for the very first time this season.

What are some of your memories of shooting those scenes?
It was breathtaking. Because obviously I was so excited to know what it’s like to do a scene with Anthony Hopkins. But it wasn’t just a scene. It was an empty glass box, and I sat on a stool, naked, and Anthony Hopkins was five inches away from my face. It was such an intense scene, and especially for Ford. I feel like it’s the first time we’ve really seen him vulnerable and scared, without all the answers. There’s 30 years of history between him and Dolores that we still don’t quite understand, and I’m still trying to figure out exactly what’s going on in that scene, and who they are to one another, and why he’s so scared.

The scene ends on a great note, as Dolores asks Ford: “Are we friends?” And he very chillingly replies, “I wouldn’t say that at all.” So what are they?
It could mean so many things. They could be enemies, or not. When Anthony and I did that scene, he did every single take differently. I thought I might be able to get clues from his performance, and then it changed every time. So I was like, “Aw, man! It could be anything!” He blew me away with his acting. Of course, we all know Anthony Hopkins is one of the greatest performers of our time, but seeing him in person and seeing those subtleties and seeing them change every take was just like watching Da Vinci paint. It reminded me why I love what I do. It was unbelievable. I even forgot I was naked! It was that good!

What was your experience shooting the scenes at the sex party in Pariah?
It was so crazy. It was one of the craziest days of shooting I’ve ever had in my entire life. I just kept having to go into a corner, put my earphones on, and try to zone out, because I also had to sit there and not really react to what I was seeing, and it was… people were painted gold and red, and there were orgies, and we had no warning. We just walked on set and there it was. (Laughs.) Jimmi Simpson and I just kind of clung to each other.

Mild speculative spoilers
She’s so thoughtful about her work and about Westworld and you never once doubt that she’s an automaton coming into consciousness. EWR is selling the hell out of this show and she has another interview with Huffington Post where she gets incredibly excited talking about how intense it gets in episode five and beyond. I especially liked her character’s arc in episode five, where she picked up a gun and decided to no longer be the damsel in distress.

I’m only just delving into this show and have realized that there are all sorts of theories about what’s really going on with Dolores and with the various characters. There’s a theory that seems to hold some weight that there are two versions of Dolores, and that’s why she keeps seeing herself. That would also explain how the bandit who was killed by The Man in Black, Lawrence, turns up as El Lazlo so soon afterwards. There’s another theory that we’re looking at different timelines and that two of the human characters are actually the same person at different phases of their life. I’m not going to get into that but you can read about both of those theories on Huffington Post. I hope the second one is not true.

Also, there are SO MANY talented actors on this show. I love Thandie Newton and I want to see more of Rodrigo Santoro. Ed Harris is perfect as the Man in Black and it goes without saying that Anthony Hopkins slays.
