Let’s get the work bits out of the way first. It was announced earlier this week that Netflix is close to acquiring The Helicopter Heist. Jake Gyllenhaal will star and produce. The story is based on a book about a real life robbery that happened in Stockholm in 2009 when 7 thieves used a helicopt…

In a series of sweet snapshots, Drew Barrymore is seen getting playful with 4-year-old daughter Olive.

While the mother-daughter duo hit the foam pit, the E.T. star, 41, captioned the Instagram images with “1. JUMP,” 2. BALL PIT,” and “3. WAY TO GO!”

On Tuesday, the single mom posted a photo of her daughters — including 2-year-old Frankie — meeting Hillary Clinton. The image has since been removed from her Instagram page.

After filing for divorce on July 15, the mom-of-two is already divorced from the girls’ father Will Kopelman.

Back in April of this year, Janet Jackson canceled what was supposed to be her big comeback tour. She said she did it for the health of her family, and that the cancelation was actually good news. Most people speculated that she was expecting a child with husband Wissam Al Mana. Entertainment Tonight confirmed the news in May of this year – they weren’t adopting or pregnant-via-surrogacy, Janet Jackson was and is pregnant at the age of 49. Well, since then, Janet has had a birthday. She’s now 50 years old. And pregnant.

Janet Jackson is one glowing mom-to-be. The 50-year-old singer is officially confirming her pregnancy and showing off her growing baby bump exclusively with PEOPLE.

“We thank God for our blessing,” says the star.

After Jackson announced in April she was postponing her Unbreakable World Tour in May to focus on “planning” a family with her husband Wissam Al Mana, sources confirmed to PEOPLE the star was expecting her first child. Over the last few months, Jackson has kept a low profile and was last spotted shopping for baby buys at London’s Back in Action furniture store.

“She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,” a source close to the Jackson family previously told PEOPLE. “She actually feels very good about everything.”

So, there you go. People Magazine has an exclusive photo of Janet and her bump too (I’m including the tweet/link below). Are there any more thoughts on Janet being pregnant at 50? I still believe that she had some help, likely by fertility treatments and such. Although who even knows? Halle Berry also got pregnant in her late 40s, and it happened naturally for her. Janet is so crazy-private, we’ll probably never know the details around all of this, and she might not even tell us when she does give birth. But I still love her anyway! Send out some good vibes for Miss Jackson if you’re nasty.

I used to love Tilda Swinton, but the ongoing saga of Tilda’s casting in Doctor Strange has left a bad taste in my mouth. Tilda was cast as The Ancient One, a role that was traditionally represented by a Tibetan man in the comic books. Tilda is… not an Asian man. Not even close. But instead of saying, “You know what? We might have screwed up, our bad,” Tilda and Marvel have dug in their heels and repeatedly insisted that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with whitewashing this particular character, for reasons. It happened again in Tilda’s Out Magazine profile, which is actually the most mind-numbing piece I’ve ever read from her. It’s not really her fault – she was profiled by a friend, and the conversation becomes long-winded, self-aggrandizing and insular pretty quickly. At one point, she calls Amy Schumer “that heavenly bird” and says she loves Amy’s “bones.” Because… ugh. Anyway, here’s the part about Doctor Strange and her character:

Out Mag: I am a bad reader of the Internet, which is to say I don’t read it much. I’m told there was some controversy around the fact that you were cast as The Ancient One instead of an Asian actor. My feeling is that an artist can play anyone because that’s the job—to imagine other people and creatures and do one’s best. Obviously I know you are sensitive to these situations, especially in an industry that hasn’t been the greatest in terms of who is cast, and why.

TS: There is little for me to add except to say that anyone speaking up for a greater accuracy in the representation of the diversity of the world we live in has me right beside them. As someone who has worked from the beginning as an artist within a queer aesthetic, the urgency of that voice is always going to be welcome. At the same time, the film Marvel has made—in which they created a part for which I was not bad casting, in actual fact—is a departure from the source material in more ways than one. Ironically, their casting is positively diverse in this case: The Ancient One in this film was never written as the bearded old Tibetan man portrayed in the comics. Baron Mordo, a Caucasian Transylvanian in the graphic novels, is here played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. Benedict Wong plays a newly expanded and significant role as Wong, who in the comics is a mini-minor character. I believe in Marvel’s wholehearted commitment to creating a diverse and vibrant universe, avoiding stereotype and cliché wherever possible in a determination to keep things fresh and lively. There may be some people who do not like these changes, but I am hopeful that when they see the film itself they may understand why these particular balances were struck. Meanwhile, whether they do or not, and this film aside, all strength to the lobby for a greater variety in cinema and in life. We are also still looking forward to our first gay Marvel superhero, naturally. Let’s hope that’s only a matter of time.

First thing: I’m only now realizing that Tilda has the same initials as Taylor Swift. Could Tom’s “I Heart TS” shirt actually be a cryptic reference to his Only Lovers Left Alive costar and friend?!? No. That didn’t happen. Although it gives me pleasure to think that Tom might have been longing for Tilda in the middle of the Tiddlebanging Summer.

As for what she says about the whitewashing… she needs to stop. This is Marvel’s issue, and Tilda’s splitting hairs over what was written in the script versus the source material. She can point at Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong all she wants, it doesn’t change the fact that the characters of color are actually subservient to The Great White Hope played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Nor does it change the fact that the “wisest” character in the film has been whitewashed from a Tibetan man into a Celtic woman.

As you likely know, WikiLeaks is posting thousands of hacked emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta. The third dump that was dropped on Tuesday featured an email from former Blink 182 singer Tom DeLonge about UFOs. DeLonge has long obsessed about extraterrestrial life, writing books and running his To the Stars business based on his beliefs. He also claims to have restricted information and the ear of many high-ranking officials. According to DeLonge, these extremely powerful organizations give him highly classified information because, he says, “I know my material.” Naturally, if you already have such access, why not reach out to the highest office in the country, the POTUS? Here’s the thing, as wacky as this all sounds, it might have some legs because Podesta is very invested in UFOs himself.

The recent Wikileaks dump revealed that former Blink 182 guitarist Tom DeLonge emailed Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager about UFOs, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The guitarist sent his first note to manager John Podesta in October 2015, though the two had previously met, as DeLonge introduced himself as, “The one who interviewed you for that special documentary not to [sic] long ago.” DeLonge goes on to discuss a multimedia project – ostensibly his vast To the Stars effort – before requesting another meeting with Podesta.

“I would like to bring two very ‘important’ people out to meet you in DC,” DeLonge wrote. “I think you will find them very interesting, as they were principal leadership relating to our sensitive topic. Both were in charge of most fragile divisions, as it relates to Classified Science and DOD topics. Other words, these are A-Level officials. Worth our time, and as well the investment to bring all the way out to you.”

DeLonge contacted Podesta again this January, sending an email with the subject, “General McCasland,” apparently a reference to a former Air Force official with (according to DeLonge) information relating to the infamous Roswell crash. In the email, DeLonge insisted that McCasland was not a skeptic — despite the General’s own previous insistence — and added, “When Roswell crashed, they shipped it to the laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. General McCasland was in charge of that exact laboratory up to a couple years ago. He not only knows what I’m trying to achieve, he helped assemble my advisory team. He’s a very important man.”

[From Rolling Stone]

You can read DeLonge’s first email here and the second here. The correspondence only goes one way with no reciprocity by Podesta. However, there is this calendar note that says a Sarah McCasland Wilkerson accepted a DeLonge/Podesta meeting a day before the “General McCasland” email was sent. Podesta has not verified or denied any of the leaked documents.

I am eating this up! If the X Files doesn’t do another round, they should make this: Career Politician and Punk Rocker: one has the power, one knows his stuff – now they’re rocking to find a more intelligent life. I’d totally watch that. Alas, Podesta probably has another job lined up when his boss makes her way into the Oval Office. Although, he’s not likely to give up his quest. Podesta insists that if elected, Hillary is going to declassify many government files on UFOs. Somehow I don’t think that is going to be the first thing on her agenda.

Sight unseen, Annette Bening was hailed as a Best Actress contender (and possible frontrunner) for her work in 20th Century Women, which premiered on Saturday at the New York Film Festival. The same hype followed Viola Davis for her work in Fences, and coincidentally, the trailers for both of the…
