Sussex Morocco reception

The Duchess of Sussex was barely seen below the waist for months after she left the UK in March. She appeared on Zoom calls, which we saw often enough, and it was always from the waist up, usually from the chest up. I believed the theory that she had quietly gotten pregnant again and she and Harry just weren’t telling people because… the British press harassed her to a crazy degree during her first pregnancy. But in the end, she wasn’t pregnant this summer. According to Us Weekly, she and Harry want to try for another kid soon though:

Baby watch! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are ready to expand their family, a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Now that they’re comfortable in their new home and everything else in their lives is locked in and going well, Meghan’s told Harry it’s baby time,” the source reveals. “She’s ready to be a mom again and can’t wait to start the process!”

Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, who wed in May 2018, are parents of son Archie, 15 months.

“Meghan loves being a mom, and seeing how happy and complete Harry is with Archie by his side is richly rewarding for her,” the source adds. “Meghan’s confident a second child will be perfectly manageable on a practical level and will bring them even more love and joy. She and Harry are both really excited for the next phase of their family journey.”

“Meghan wanted them to find their footing with Archie first, and also get the big move out of the way and know where they were going career-wise,” the source explains. “Once all that was in place, she gave Harry the go-ahead.”

[From Us Weekly]

It was my belief that Meghan got pregnant easily and naturally with Archie, and I hope that will be the same for her second pregnancy. I think it also makes sense that they were waiting until they got everything settled with their permanent home in Montecito, and the Netflix deal and all of that. Um… what are the chances that Meghan arrives in London in January for her court case against the Mail and she has a little bump? Whew, I can already imagine the meltdowns.

The British Royals Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice enjoy a night of fun at Annabels in London

Coronavirus cases are spiking in North America and Europe. Most European countries are being somewhat sensible-to-very sensible about it, all while Donald Trump hosts superspreader Nazi rallies across the US. Yesterday, Boris Johnson announced some new measures to curb the corona spike in the UK – the UK won’t do another big lockdown, but they’re trying to limit nightlife and large gatherings, obviously, and they’re definitely trying to put big limitations on pubs and bars. I would assume that means private nightclubs too? Or not.

Last night, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie stepped out in London. They went partying at Annabels, a very exclusive private club popular with royals and celebrities. They made a big show of wearing masks, but… this is a horrible look. Two work-shy princesses running out to a nightclub with security on the same day the prime minister introduces new pandemic/lockdown measures? The optics are terrible. Nevermind the fact that Beatrice and Eugenie’s security also had to play with umbrellas to “shield” them from the paparazzi, because what looks worse: lazy princesses nightclubbing during a pandemic, or lazy princesses trying to hide the fact that they’re partying during a pandemic?

The Daily Mail and Hello covered this as just a snazzy “girls night out” for the poor York sisters. It’s just… asinine. Drink at home. Dance at home. Invite two friends over, take their temperatures and party at home.

Sorry to begin on a bummer but we can’t ignore this. Coronavirus deaths hit the 200,000 mark in the United States yesterday. Here in Canada, we’re seeing surges across the country. In Ontario, where I live, 475 new cases were confirmed Tuesday – the highest number since May. So this is a problem for…

Christina El Moussa and boyfriend Ant Anstead are all smiles at NBC Studios

Over the weekend, we discussed the truly surprising news of Christina and Ant Anstead’s separation. They have been married for less than two years, and they welcomed their son Hudson one year ago. Christina is part of a successful HGTV franchise with her now ex-husband Tarek El Moussa – they still do Flip or Flop together, and they are still deeply connected financially and with their two kids. But when Christina married Ant, she got a separate HGTV show, and she featured a lot about her home life with Ant. I thought they were happy. At least, I thought they would make it a solid five years. So what went wrong?

Christina and Ant Anstead were having trouble navigating life with their blended families before she announced their split, a source tells PEOPLE. The Christina on the Coast star, 37, revealed last Friday on Instagram that she and her British TV presenter husband of less than two years were separating. But the couple had been struggling with their relationship for a year — since the birth of their son Hudson, 1, in September 2019, according to a source.

“After the baby, they started having conflicts,” the source says. In addition to Hudson, Christina shares daughter Taylor, 10, and son Brayden, 5, with ex Tarek El Moussa and Ant has Amelie, 16, and Archie, 14, with his ex-wife Louise Herbert.

Despite her full house, the source says, the designer was left feeling “lonely and unhappy” with her home life. “Christina found it difficult to balance everything” and “their marriage was struggling.”

While the news of their split comes as a shock for HGTV fans (she also appears alongside El Moussa on Flip or Flop), Christina is remaining optimistic about her future. “She never expected to get a divorce,” the source says. “But she is doing okay and focusing on the kids.”

[From People]

Some commenters were saying that the pandemic screwed up the family, that Ant has been in England for months and that he and Christina have been low-key separated all that time? Could be. It might be a chicken-and-egg situation – the pandemic screwed everything up, or they were already having big problems and that’s why he left. In any case, I feel sorry for her – sitting in her “dream home” with three kids. Tarek has always been a hands-on dad to Taylor and Brayden, and I assume that he’s probably helping Christina out a lot on that front.

Offset Celebrates his Birthday with celebrity friends and fans in DTLA

My overwhelming vibe towards and for Cardi B’s divorce is that I’m happy for her and I hope she sticks with it. Offset might genuinely care about her and he might truly be a great dad to Kulture, but Offset brought out the worst in Cardi, and he endlessly disrespected her and their marriage. I feel like she was done with him two years ago too, but he managed to worm his way back into her life. I hope that she doesn’t allow Offset and the other people close to her to “guilt” her into feeling bad about doing sh-t for her own sanity and self-care. Cardi did a video/audio for her fans on Friday, talking about the divorce and what she’s going through. She actually sounds like she’s in a good headspace?

Cardi B recently filed for divorce from husband of three years, Migos rapper Offset, taking to Instagram Friday night to clarify exactly why they didn’t make it. After thanking fans for their prayers and well wishes, the “WAP” artist, 27, revealed that she has “not shed one tear” over their split, adding that the divorce has nothing to do with Offset’s past infidelities, which led to their initial separation in late 2018.

“Every single time that this guy has been so crazy, so f–ked up and it hits the media, I’m always crying, always sad because I don’t like that type of s–t,” Cardi said. “This time, I wasn’t crying. You want to know why? The reason for my divorce is not because of none of that sh-t that ever happened before. It’s not because of cheating. I’m seeing people be like, ‘Oh, he has a baby on the way.’ That’s a whole f–king complete lie. That’s the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that’s bulls–t.”

The Bronx native went on to say she and the “Racks 2 Skinny” rapper have simply outgrown each other. “I just got tired of f–king arguing,” she continued. “I got tired of not seeing things eye-to-eye. When you feel like it’s just not the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I’d rather just leave. Nothing crazy out of this world happened, sometimes people really do grow apart. I been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man, I have a household with this man…sometimes you’re just tired of the arguments and the build up. You get tired sometimes and before something happens, you leave.”

[From Page Six]

CB and I talked about this in our podcast – Cardi was only 23 years old when she and Offset started up, and their relationship was happening as Cardi was becoming one of the biggest stars in music. Add in “having a child at the height of her career,” and it’s like… of course something’s got to give. Even if Offset had been the most perfect husband who never, ever cheated on her, something would still have to give. She was too young for marriage, a baby and a thriving career – and I’m not saying that women can’t have it all, I’m saying that Cardi was maybe too young to figure out how to have it all in a healthy waylongterm, and Offset wasn’t the healthiest option for her? Anyway, it sounds like this divorce is going to stick and I’m happy for her. It sounds like she’s in a good headspace.

Queen Latifah has supported BIPOC causes for years. In the 80s Latifah rapped about misogyny in the Black community and last year she began speaking about the mental health and the benefits of therapy for people of color. She even appeared on Dr. Oz’s show to discuss her mental health journey.

Latifah is hosting a fundraiser for the for the American Lung Association’s #Act4Impact initiative to raise funds for Black and Latinx frontline workers affected by the pandemic. This cause is personal to her as several of her family members are frontline workers who have battled covid. It will livestream on September 26 at 7 p.m. ET on Facebook and includes cameos by other celebrities including Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade, Katharine MacPhee, Common, and Harry Connick, Jr. Here’s more, from People:

Watching friends and family suffer from the virus spurred Latifah to action: She’s teaming up with the American Lung Association to host its first-ever livestream benefit #Act4Impact on September 26, which will raise money for the organization’s COVID-19 Action Initiative.

The initiative aims to highlight the alarming, disproportionate effects of the pandemic on Black and Latino communities throughout the United States and to work on solutions to close the gap: distributing free cloth masks, advocating for accessible, affordable coronavirus and flu vaccines and investing in respiratory research and other programs.

While everyone is at some risk for getting the coronavirus, the ongoing pandemic has highlighted the stark lack of resources and healthcare in minority communities, where infection rates have skyrocketed. According to the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC), Black and Latino people are nearly five times as likely to be hospitalized due to coronavirus as white patients.

Public health experts have pointed to underlying health conditions, limited access to healthcare, jobs that cannot be done remotely, crowded households and the stress of dealing with racism that make Black and Latino Americans more vulnerable to the virus.

“If there’s anything we’ve seen this year, it’s that there’s some big differences in how people of color are treated in our country, whether it’s from healthcare, to policing, to this pandemic,” Latifah says. “This fundraiser is an opportunity for regular, everyday people to get good information, get a break from the craziness of it all, but also hear from some of your favorite people.”

[From People]

I really love this initiative. It is truly sad that our government has so thoroughly failed us and that it has taken celebrities and charities to fill in the gaps. I knew that the numbers for COVID infections and death were disproportionately higher in BIPOC communities but I didn’t know it was five times higher! That’s absolutely criminal and exposes the white supremacy in our government.

I have always loved Queen Latifah. She is more palatable to diverse audiences these days, but I will never forget the Queen from 1988 who rapped the song U.N.I.T.Y wearing a dashiki and African Kufi hat while exposing the misogyny in the Black community. She was an angry Black feminist and that song was like a war cry for my 12 year old self. I have loved seeing her grow into her own and expand. Not to mention she is STUNNING. I think #Act4Impact is a great initiative and a wonderful way to honor underserved communities in America. I will most likely count some change and donate what I can. Especially, since my grandmother, uncle, and father all died from lung-related diseases.

I also like that she is another well known celebrity that is advocating for mental health fitness and the benefits of therapy in the Black community. The more celebrities like her, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II that advocate for Black people to go to therapy, the better. You can learn more about the #Act4Impact initiative on their website.
