Back in March, Iggy Azalea and Nick Young’s relationship was in its final death throws but they kept it on life support until June when Iggy finally pulled the plug. Everyone assumed he had cheated – most likely more than once – and she had finally had enough. Iggy, who prefers to communicate through social media, semi-confirmed these rumors on Instagram when she announced their split.

In case there was still any doubt before, yesterday Iggy posted these tweets in rapid fire:

I broke up with Nick because I found out he had brought other women into our home while I was away and caught them on the security footage.

— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 30, 2016

This is just like a second shot to the chest. And I feel like I don’t even know who the hell it is I’ve been loving all this time.

— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 30, 2016

People in this world really are f–ked up.

— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 30, 2016

Whoops! There’s not a lot of guesswork here but I suppose we could parse that second tweet as to what the “second shot to the chest” was. Turns out, that second shot was likely Nick knocking up his ex-girlfriend, Keonna Green, with whom Nick already shares a son.

Iggy Azalea finally reveals why she and Nick Young called off their engagement.

Iggy, 26, and Nick, 31, tried to make their relationship work after the March scandal, but upon calling her wedding off she told her followers that after a while she couldn’t trust him anymore.

Shortly after she announced the news, Nick took to Twitter to share that he’s “single.”

The New Classic artist’s candid confession comes as rumors continue to swirl that he impregnated his ex-girlfriend Keonna Green. She also is the mother of Nick’s first child, Nick Young Jr. According to report by Life & Style, Green is four months pregnant after a one-night stand with her ex-boyfriend.

“Nick waited until Keonna was four months pregnant to tell Iggy the news,” an insider told the magazine. “He was drunk and had a lapse in judgment.”

“He said it was a one-night stand and will never happen again,” the insider added.

[From E! News]

Aw, what a sweet birth announcement: “Let me present my little Lapse in Judgment.” Speaking of lapses in judgment, Iggy should have kicked this clown to the curb a long time ago. She may not be my favorite person on the planet but this guy is a real douche-noodle. After partying in West Hollywood Wednesday night, Nick ‘joked‘ about losing the $500,000 engagement ring Iggy had returned to him, “I need some insurance money.” He should be glad she isn’t making good on her promise to make a eunuch of him.

Iggy recently responded to reports that she had Nick’s 1962 Impala towed from her house by tweeting:

I never had anyone’s car towed nor did I kick nick out of “my” house. The home belongs to nick, Iam the one moving. Thanks.

— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 21, 2016

Were I Iggy, I’d have lost the guy but kept that car. He could wave to my one-finger salute as I drove off.

Kyle Newman

Jaime King’s husband Kyle Newman posted a photo via Instagram of their two children Leo Thames, almost 1, and James Knight, 2, on Thursday (June 30). The snapshot shows the kids enjoying a cake with the writing “XO Gossip Girl”.

Kyle writes: “XO @blakelively. You rule. #LeoThames @erikaklein #JamesKnight”

Blake Lively, one of the former stars of The CW’s Gossip Girl and whose new movie is The Shallows, is a close friend of the couple.

The director also shared another photo two days ago of James along with the caption: “Teatime! #JamesKnight style”.

Other besties include Taylor Swift and Jessica Alba. Jaime King recently told Too Fab why she considers Swift a part of their family.

King said of the godmother of her second child, Leo, “It’s so funny, I wonder if people would ask, ‘So I heard Sandy Larson is the godmother.’ Taylor is no different to me than my sister is to me. When I step off the stage, and they say cut, I’m just Jaime from Nebraska. I’m a mid-Western woman and it’s all the same.”

“It’s interesting that people think we’re extraordinary. What I think is extraordinary is who [Taylor] is as a human being. I chose her because she’s loving and giving and caring – and she exemplifies that which I want my children to be around. We don’t have our immediate family here, so to me, the closest thing to family is Taylor and [Jessica Alba.] Some of my friends are very much like my sisters. It’s important to have that dynamic for me because that’s the way I was raised. I’m very blessed.”

At this point, I’ve lost count of how many media outlets are openly questioning Tiddles. If Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift wanted their new love to look authentic and realistic, they’ve done a terrible job. If their relationship is supposed to be the biggest conspiracy of the summer (nay, the year!), then they’ve succeeded. E! News keeps running pieces about how and why Tiddles is all for show. Multiple outlets keep claiming that Tom is just doing all of this to campaign for James Bond, which makes zero sense.

And now there are reports that Tiddles is taking a short breather, than Taylor has flown back to America and Tom is laying low in London. But as I asked yesterday, will they reunite for the Fourth of July? Taylor loves to host big Independence Day parties and post all of the photos to social media. Speaking of social media, Taylor and Tom have been mostly absent from their social media accounts since their love-bomb. Will this holiday weekend bring the first Tiddles-on-Instagram photos? God, I hope so. I hope Hiddles gets in the swan float. PLEASE???

What else? A million bulls—t stories, honestly. The Sun claims that Tom is now “in the running” to replace Calvin Harris as the bulge of Armani underwear. That’s following Tom’s sad W Magazine editorial? Yikes. Of course, other dudes on the shortlist include Joe Jonas (??), Chris Pine and Liam Hemsworth. If Tom ends up with an Armani contract, I will laugh and laugh. Hollywood Life also claimed that Taylor is currently writing songs about how she’s never felt love like this before. A source tells Hollywood Life:

“When she’s with Tom, she feels completely free to be herself and doesn’t feel like she has to hold anything back. Tom really encourages her to be as authentic and as true to herself as possible. She feels like he really values her feelings and her opinions. He’s incredibly supportive and she feels more confident within herself. She now wants to take that same confidence and apply it to her music and to her songwriting. With Tom, she feels like she can do anything, that anything is possible. She’s never felt this way before with anyone. She’s on cloud nine.”

[From Hollywood Life]

Of course she’s on cloud nine… for now. Soon enough, it will be all tears and accusations and real-estate-stalking. But this story brings me to another point: can Taylor Swift write music about being happy and in love, or is she like Adele in that her best songs are about being heartbroken? What does Taylor Swift’s Love Album sound like? Who even knows?

As for the LOVE, the NYDN’s horoscope person analyzed Tom and Taylor’s signs and found that they’re actually well-matched. Tay’s a Sagittarian and Tom’s an Aquarian, which means “they are career focused, but what’s fabulous for these two is that they have a mutual respect for each other’s goals, and the difference they want to make in the world through their careers.” LOL. Meaning their love will last as long as it takes to mutually further their careers.

Blake Lively is currently the cover girl for the American edition of Marie Claire – I covered that interview last week, that was where she was talking about her baby’s “meaty eyelids.” Well, Blake covers the August issue of Marie Claire UK and it feels vaguely like this is just a reprint of the American editorial, but… maybe not? What can I tell you? The photos are different, the quotes are different and Marie Claire UK says they spoke to Blake. Maybe the problem is that Blake looks the same in every editorial and she sounds the same in every interview? You always get a sense of déjà vu, only you’re too bored to even notice. Some highlights from this new interview:

Baby James won’t be trotted out for photo-ops: “My husband and I chose a profession and a side effect of that is your personal life is public. Our child hasn’t had the opportunity to choose whether or not she wants her personal life to be public or not. So in order to give her as much normality as possible, we want her to have a childhood like we had. So we can’t really throw her into the lion’s den that is LA, not that we really want to.’

She hasn’t been transformed by motherhood: “When women become mothers, it’s all: ‘How’s your style?’, ‘Do you dress differently?’, ‘Do you go to Mommy & Me classes?’ I wanted to go to a Mommy & Me class before I was a mom. People really expect that you’re suddenly a different woman, and I think it strips a woman’s identity in a way that is kind of strange, because I’ve always been innately maternal my whole life.”

Her work-life balance: “I’m always ambitious about film-making. But I love my personal life so much—and my family so much—that it takes a lot to make me want to leave the house. Most of the things I do, I fight for. But to want to fight for something? I have to be really stimulated by it.”

[From E! News]

While I eye-rolled a lot at “I wanted to go to a Mommy & Me class before I was a mom,” there are absolutely women like that in the world. And there’s nothing wrong with that – some women know from a young age that they want to have children, that motherhood is their goal and they want to be young mothers and all of that. Some women ARE maternal without ever giving birth too. But the way Blake describes herself… she exhausts me. At the start of that quote, I thought she was standing up for women who still want to retain their identity separate from motherhood, but nope! Blake wants you to know that motherhood was always her identity, even before she was a mother. While she may be completely authentic about all of this, doesn’t she often come across as pandering to the mommy-mafia types?

When Ben Affleck gave his kind of slurry arguably drunk sports show interview, many of you noticed that he referred to Jennifer Garner as his “wife.” He was telling the same narrative we’ve heard from him before about how Jennifer Garner made his career possible by holding down the homefront, which is nice because it shows he doesn’t take that part of their relationship for granted. I didn’t put much stock in Affleck calling Garner his wife, but it may have meaning. ET Online has a pretty long story they’re billing as an exclusive, with quotes that they’re “making it work” and the detail that their source does not know if these two will ever file for divorce. It’s carefully worded, but it hints at a reconciliation. Three weeks ago we heard that Garner was “adamant” that she would divorce Affleck. Does this mean that he’s still holding out hope or are they back together?

It’s been almost one year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their split, and Wednesday marks the 11th anniversary of their wedding. However, while the two are separated, they still remain legally married.

“They still have not officially filed paperwork for a divorce,” a source tells ET, adding they “don’t know if that will ever happen…”

Affleck also recently referred to Garner as “his wife” in an interview on HBO. They’re “making it work,” the source notes about the pair, and as the months have flown by, the estranged couple has settled into a new normal of co-parenting and “the year of wine,” as Garner put it in a February sit-down with Vanity Fair…

Affleck didn’t travel too far following their separation. Reports swirled shortly after they pulled the plug on their longtime romance that the 43-year-old actor was still a presence at their family home. “He still lives on the property in Brentwood, California, but in separate living quarters,” another source tells ET.

There are no boundaries between them when it comes to their kids. The proud parents have been seen out and about together as a family on countless occasions. So much so that it has sparked reconciliation rumors, especially after their family trip to Paris and London in May while Affleck filmed Justice League. But will it happen? A source close to Affleck tells ET, “They’re in a good place and co-parenting the best they can.”

[From ET Online]]

So are these two still telling the press every up and down in their relationship or did ET ask and get this kind of non-committal answer? ET had another story a couple of weeks ago saying that they were “fine.” Whatever is going on, The tipster who sent us this story also pointed to this story in the Daily Mail in which Affleck was seen visiting a “friend’s” place in LA over the weekend. (Those photos are below.) He has wet hair so he may have been going for personal training or a massage or something.

People has a competing story that Ben doesn’t want the divorce but Jen is “adamant” about going through with it. It sounds just like their story from earlier in June. It was a year yesterday since they announced the divorce and then dealt with nannygate:

A friend of Garner’s says that “Ben still doesn’t want the divorce” but that Garner has denied reconcilation rumors to pals. She “doesn’t seem to mind at all that [the divorce] is not finalized,” but “she seems adamant about going through with it,” the friend says.

“She did have the best time in Europe with Ben and the kids,” says her friend. “She seemed to enjoy spending time with Ben again.”

“They have a lot of admiration and respect for each other,” adds a source close to the couple.

The couple are continuing to stay together at their family home when they’re both in L.A. as Affleck flies back and forth to London for filming.

Another source close to the couple told PEOPLE recently that “nothing has changed” in the relationship: “They’re still all about putting the kids first.”

[From People]

So this seems to be the new normal for them. I mean this kind of tentative relationship along with competing stories in the press about whether they’re getting back together or not. As long as we’re talking about them, right?

Radar reported that Jennifer’s mom and dad, who live in Charleston, WV where she grew up, have had their home destroyed by the devastating flooding there and are staying in a hotel. They state that Jen is planning a fundraiser to help, and she has also publicly asked for support for Save The Children, with whom she’s worked in the past and which is doing relief work on the ground. Incidentally, Radar claims to have an exclusive interview with Jen’s dad which “reveals how she won [Ben] back for good.” That’s what they write in the title, but all Mr. Garner says is that he is “awful proud” of Jen and “would prefer not to comment on her plans. Any news will come from her and not from us.

On Thursday evening, Prince Harry, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Thiepval memorial to the Missing in France to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Somme during World War I. Tributes were also held in London, with the Queen, Prince Philip and David Cameron all attending a service at Westminster Abbey. The younger royals got sent to France though, which is how it should be. I’ve come to expect Harry at these kind of somber military events, but the Cambridges usually don’t pull this kind of duty.

I think Kate looks nice here. She wore this Missoni coat which probably retails for something like $2900, although she’s likely had it significantly altered. But I like that it’s memorial-appropriate but it’s not just solid-black. She managed to stand out but not be disrespectful. And hey, at least she wasn’t wearing hot pink. She gets bonus points from me for wearing her hair back, wearing a fascinator that didn’t look like an undercooked cinnamon bun, and for keeping her accessories very simple. She might not look like Barbie Duchess, but she looked respectful of the event.

What else? Prince William made a speech and as I was skimming the text, I was like “whoa, politics!” Take a gander:

“One hundred years ago tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. the British army attacked German lines across these fields. To the young men eager to fight it was known as the ‘Big Push.’ The joint British and French offensive intended to put unbearable pressure on the German army and hasten an end to the war. Most of those who went over the top that day were wartime volunteers. Some as young as 16. Some had already seen action. For others the Somme was their first experience of battle. By the end of the 1st of July the British Army had sustained almost 60,00 casualties, of whom nearly one third had died. We lost the flower of a generation. And in the years to come it sometimes seemed that with them a sense of vital optimism had disappeared forever from British life. It was, in many ways, the saddest day in the long story of our nation.

“Tonight we think of them as they nerved themselves for what lay ahead. We acknowledge the failures of European governments, including our own, to prevent the catastrophe of World War. We offer our humblest respects to each man who fought in the Battle of the Somme from every corner of the British Isles and from across the Commonwealth. We honor those whose names are recorded on this memorial. More than 72,000 who have no know grave. And to those who lie buried in Commonwealth war cemeteries. And tonight we stand here with a promise to those men. We will remember you. The gift you gave your country is treasured by every one of us this day. The sacrifice you made will never, ever, be forgotten.”

[From People]

“We acknowledge the failures of European governments, including our own, to prevent the catastrophe of World War…” That felt pointed, right? Props to William for acknowledging the lack of leadership that caused so many young men to die in that dreadful battle. And if people want to believe he’s just making a reference to the lack of leadership 100 years ago, so be it. But maybe he’s talking about a lack of leadership today. Bregrexit!

The other day, I said that The Legend of Tarzan was probably going to be a gigantic hit because I have a bad box-office-picker and I think the film looks like a steaming pile of garbage. Guess what though? I think the general critical consensus is that the film is no bueno. Rotten Tomatoes has it at hovering around 32-33%, and some of the reviews are flat-out ghastly. Still, I bet people do see the film, mostly because it’s PG-13 and I bet parents will take their tweens to see it or whatever. Family-ish film. Anyway, Alexander Skarsgard is still hustling for Tarzan, and he covers the new issue of Mr. Porter. If I was the studio publicist, I would have aimed for a more mass-market magazine? Like, GQ, Esquire, Men’s Journal, Men’s Fitness, etc. But sure, Mr. Porter it is. You can see the full piece here, and here are some highlights:

Growing up in an artistic hippie community: “It was an incredible childhood, it really was. No one ever locked the doors. We didn’t even have keys. My cousins were in the apartment above us, so the kids would just run up and down. And Grandma and Grandpa lived across the street. My dad is a very social guy. He loves to cook. We always ate together as a family every night.”

His father left his mother for a younger woman, but everything was fine: Even after his parents divorced and his father married someone much younger with whom he has two more sons (that’s seven sons and one daughter – are you keeping up?), they remained best friends. So much so that they still dine together as a large and loud extended family most evenings and even bought holiday homes 200 yards away from each other. “It’s very unusual. I’m very aware of that and how lucky we are. Almost all my siblings live within a four-block radius and every night my dad will cook for whoever swings by. There’s a big dinner party almost every night of the week.”

Why he joined the Swedish military: “I grew up in a very Bohemian hippy-dippy environment,” he says. His entire family are artists and pacifists – wine-drinking, pot-smoking people who hate the idea of the military. “Maybe, age 19, [signing up] was a reaction to that. I wasn’t going to get sent to a war zone. In Sweden, our last war was 200 years ago, so it was more of a personal challenge. Obviously if you enlist here in the States, it’s a different conversation.”

His 2014 South Pole trek to the South Pole with Prince Harry: “He’s an incredible storyteller, so I think he’d be a very good actor.”

He’s more of a city guy: “I’m definitely a city guy, but I love the contrast, to get away for a complete break, with no phone. That recharges my batteries.”

Turning 40: “Yeah. I’m not married, I don’t have kids… I feel OK about it. No midlife crisis yet.”

[From Mr. Porter]

This feels like the third interview I’ve read with Alex in just the past month where he’s been saying the exact same things. I think that’s one of the problems that The Legend of Tarzan faces too: the lack of off-screen charisma from the leading man. Don’t get me wrong, I like Alex a lot, and I think he’s an interesting, woke, liberal guy and a wonderful ally to many groups. But that doesn’t come across in these middle-of-the-road interviews. He’s promoting a big-budget family film, so no one asks him about how he’s friends with tons of drag queens or how he feels about American politics. Mr. Porter does note that Alex signed a three-picture deal for Tarzan, meaning that if the film is a hit, he’s on the hook for two more Tarzan movies. So if it is a hit, we can expect more flavorless Skarsgard for years to come.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie comes out in the UK today, although Americans won’t get the movie until July 22. So Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley’s promotional tour, thus far, has just been in the UK, and they’ve just been talking to UK outlets for the most part. Saunders and Lumley contributed an “on-set diary” to the Telegraph which was published a few days ago, and people have been interpreting one passage, by Lumley, as “shade” directed at Benedict Cumberbatch. The film has a lot of A-list cameos, but they tried to get Bendy and he turned them down. Here’s that part of the diary:

As well as working, I actually have to work. Mandie Fletcher, our director, is trying to lock down the casting of cameo roles between takes and sometimes I have to sit with her in a nice chair, eating a delicious Brie baguette, and throwing out names like ‘Benedict Cumberbatch’.

Although Benedict Cumberbatch, it turns out, is busy for the next five and a half years. What is it with actors? We are offering tiny, tiny, tiny roles that will take up minuscule amounts of time and it’s, ‘Oh no, sorry, I’m busy doing films,’ or, ‘So sorry, I am going round the world with all my actor friends for the next two years,’ or a simple, ‘I’m dead.’

[From The Telegraph]

I’m pretty sure AbFab filmed last summer and that Benedict would have been somewhat free to film for a day or two, especially if his cameo could have been shot in London. Meaning, he just didn’t want to appear in AbFab, which sucks. He’ll do a questionable cameo in Zoolander No. 2, but not AbFab?

Saunders also told media outlets that contrary to tabloid reports, Kim Kardashian was never up for a cameo or anything: “I don’t know who put the rumor out but it was never a fact. It’s not like [Kim] was on the phone going, ‘But I want to be in it. I want to do it.’” Saunders also claimed that she had never, ever said that Kim was “too crass” to be in AbFab because “I don’t even know the word ‘crass.’ It’s not in my vocabulary.” It’s true – no one is “too crass” for the world of AbFab.

Saturday morning, 61 years old & making the young generation jealous. This is what dedication looks like. #JKSimmons

A photo posted by Aaron Williamson (@aaronvwilliamson) on Apr 23, 2016 at 3:06pm PDT

Trainer Aaron Williamson caused quite a stir when he posted this ^^ Instagram of a completely ripped 61-year-old J.K. Simmons a few months ago.

After people picked their collective jaws off the floor, the rumors started to swirl about why J.K. was getting so bulk. The consensus was that he was adding bulk to play Commissioner Gordon in the Justice League movie. But J.K. set everyone straight, saying the new physique is all for him.

Back in early June, when the photo of Simmons working out went viral, many outlets (including this one) reported that Simmons was getting muscular for his new role as Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming “Justice League” movie.

Not so, the 61-year-old actor told The Huffington Post while promoting his movie “Kung Fu Panda 3.”

“Yeah, well that’s a gigantic misconception,” said Simmons. “I just like to work out now. And getting to the gym really has nothing … I’m not going to the gym because of ‘Justice League.’”

Then why is he getting so ripped now?

“I’m just going to the gym because after the last time I got super fat and out of shape, I decided that I was done doing that,” explained Simmons. “I was going to — for as long as I’m going to be on the planet — I’m going to try and take care of myself. So that’s pretty much coincidental [to filming ‘Justice League’].”

The actor did say that being a part of the upcoming superhero movie has made it easier for him to workout, though. “Being around that cast and [director] Zack Snyder, who is a fitness maniac himself, it’s nice to have that in common with people,” Simmons said with a laugh.

[From Huffington Post]

Just an aside – when I read the article initially, I was going too quickly and read it as J.K. was actually getting ripped for King Fu Panda 3. I thought, ‘wow – THAT’S commitment.’

I never thought he was bulking up to play Commissioner Gordon because when I think of Gordon, I still think of Neil Hamilton from the 1966 Adam West series. In my mind, the most strenuous activity he needed to perform was lifting the glass dome off the Bat Phone. (My comic-conscious friends have advised me he has been revamped into a more buff version.)

J.K. said he decided to focus on his body after seeing himself on Oz the first time, “I was overweight and soft and here I am playing the head of the Aryan Brotherhood in this maximum-security prison in the first-ever HBO original drama and I was watching the first season when it came out and I just thought, ‘Wow, I don’t believe this guy at all. I have to get my a– to the gym and be a believable hard-a–.’” One thing I love about J.K. is that he doesn’t mince words. When grilled about the timing and impetus for his physical change, he responded simply, “I just had free time to go to the gym.”

We have to wait for The Accountant to see J.K. again so in the meantime, here’s a clip from January of J.K. and Billy Joel singing a do-wap version of For the Longest Time on Fallon:

Every time we train together I forget he’s 61 years old. So much respect for this guy. #JKSimmons #OldManCranking

PaleyFest Nashville

Good news for you Nashville fans out there, when the show returns after being rescued from cancellation by ABC, stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere will reprise their characters for the show’s fifth season. I, personally, am giddy with excitement.

The show got picked up by CMT (and will also be available on Hulu for my fellow “cord cutters”) after a successful “bring back this TV show” social media campaign. Side note: could we try this with The Muppets? According to TV Line, Connie is set to return as country music queen Rayna James and Hayden will be back as her sometime rival, sometime mentee Juliette Barnes. Highlight for a mild spoiler: This likely means that Juliette didn’t die in a plane crash, as was hinted during the show’s 4th season finale and now, she, Avery and baby Cadence can have a happy reunion.

Will Chase, who played Luke Wheeler, won’t be returning, which is sad, but his character wasn’t really doing much. I do think Luke got a raw deal as far as his relationship with Rayna, but now who is going to champion Will Lexington’s music career? It’s also been reported that Aubrey Peeples, who played Layla, is also not returning. No big loss there, her character was awful. Let’s just hope she doesn’t go on to make a sequel to that horrendous Jem movie.

My second favorite actor after Jon Hamm, Charles Esten (DEACON!), Sam Palladio (Gunnar), Jonathan Jackson (Avery), Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Lennon Stella (Maddie), Maisy Stella (a/k/a eternally sad Daphne), and Chris Carmack (Will Lexington, stone cold hottie) are also rumored to return. It’s not Nashville without Deacon. Rayna and Deacon were on slightly shaky ground when the last season ended, I hope they can use the new season to reconcile. Dayna 4-eva.
